New Ruger SR-762

The SR556 has a Nikon M-223 BDC 600 on it with Nikon Mount. the Sig 716 has a Leupold with Burris Extreme tactical rings. Post up those pics when you get time!
2. Careful with this. If it is for sure a mental health issue, then have the kid checked for that as it can't be avoided. If it is just a behavioral problem, do not let it go to mental health. Seen too many people medicated that really didn't have MH issues. People without MH issues take MH drugs, do get crazy. And when the drugs don't work properly, the Dr's switch their meds around trying to find something that works and that makes the problem even worse. I've even seen folks take MH drugs recreationally that had zero MH issues ever in their life and they became severely depressed and even suicidal after using. It doesn't help my opinion on this since my best friends sister used MH drugs recreationally, got addicted to MH drugs like Xanax, etc., and went from a beautiful girl to a nut who was slashing her arms and body, even had stove top burner scares on her arms where she turned the stove-top burners on and burned herself. She ended up passing away in her sleep at 35 years old (I was never told the cause of death, but I can assume a cocktail of drugs and or suicide). And.... My sister works in Mental Health, so I get all the inside stories. So make sure it isn't just behavioral problems because MH drugs do not fix those issues, they make them worse IMHO.

I got mine during the peak of the craze. The LGS had just put it on the shelf like a couple minutes before I got there ( was near closing time). I was the last to leave because the background checks were taking like 2hrs they were so backed up. I was in a line of guys waiting. It was after their closing hours before my background cleared. I got there just in time and also before he started raising his prices. Wasn't long after that until he was price gouging like the rest of them. $1999 was still below the MSRP on Sig's site at the time because I recall it being $2,100-ish. The ODG Sig's don't have the stock with Sig Sauer on them. It's the same Magpul branded stock and Magpul MIAD grip you'd get if you ordered a Magpul. My cleaning kit came in a like a nice army green colored nylon pouch. It also came with 1 Magpul 20rd Pmag. No carry case and I don't think Troy makes this rail, but have nothing to back that up except that all the Troy rails I've seen are of better fit and finish than what comes on the Sig 716. If you look close at the top center where the rail meets the receiver, it does not line up perfectly (a little lower than receiver) and every 716 I've picked up has the rail in the same place - not lined up height wise to the receiver. Rail fitment: I took that rail off and tried to see if I could align it properly, but it goes right back together the same once you TQ it down. MIAD grip: Stock: Anyway, the Ruger SR556 is nice. I recently did some work on my dads to make it more suited to what he's going to do with it, which is more or less a range rifle. Might get the Atlas bipod in the place of this Fab Defense grip-pod since it doesn't have a cant lock. Also plan a Surefire SOCOM brake and suppressor for it later. But here it is so far. Box stock: Part of the teardown: Before the scope & strapped in the case to see if it fit with new rifle stock: Done! If I were to get a SR-762. I'd probably set it up like I did this one above.

5. There have been armed robberies on my campus, albeit, not too often, but I was hoping to at least be able to have it in the car so maybe I could get to it since most of the issues happened in the parking lots. But to risk throwing alway years of college and be expelled, not to mention the money it has cost me, just isn't worth the risk right now. Luckily, my wife is done as of last summer and got her Masters Degree. So don't have to worry about her like I used to being on campus at night. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro v2.2
6.   I get what you're saying, but SCOTUS really isn't on the side of the constitution anymore as we recognize by the new ACA law (fine being called a tax, etc.).   The more Liberal/Progressive those judges get, the more I'd want to stay away as we may end up losing more rights through their stupid opinions.   Only if we could get a true constitutionalist or Libertarian type in POTUS that would get some SCOTUS judges up there that interpret the constitution as originally intended by the frames would I want to take anymore battles for our rights up there. We don't want anymore bad court opinions written that the next generation od progressive judges can cite in their opinions if you get what I'm saying here.   Anyway, I believe in the bottom up strategy. Most of the time, you have to start a movement from the ground, small, and work slowly (progressively) to the top. It is the strategy the progressives have used over the years that has got us to this point. So I don't mind working to get the state to recognize something like constitutional carry. You just have to make sure you have the right people in the right places of power before you take that case to them. If you have a bunch of anti-2A liberals in power in political office, judicial branches, etc., strategically it would be foolish to try to gain rights while they're in power.   Now off tot he mall where I have to disarm.... :wall:
7. It sounds like if any farther work needs to be done/can be done, this is the area we need to start. Now I just wish I had known what I know now because I'd have started my career to be a lawyer and a politician. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro v2.2
8. Yeah, pretty sure I don't want to risk throwing away all the work I have done at this school just to be able to leave my gun in my car. Really wish this HCP allowed us to carry everywhere except maybe a courthouse, mental hospital, or jail for obvious reasons. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro v2.2
9.   For whatever reason, the law doesn't read as clear cut to me as it seems to be to you. Then the fact that they can still expel you, etc., makes it totally not worth carrying until I know for sure this law can protect me. I don't have the time and money to waste on an issue like that.     The parking lots are part of the campus.   The above rule doesn't make it clear if it does not apply to permit holders in parking lots. So yeah, a lot of questions need to be asked and answers given by qualified folks who can legally and accurately comment with the facts on this before I carry and leave my gun in my car on campus.
10. Well, all I know is I'm not willing to be the test dummy and face possible legal issues, fines, etc. So until we get something a lot more clear and concise stating a clear yes or no, I won't be taking my gun on campus. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro v2.2

It costs no more than just about any other piston 7.62x51 or .308 out there.   I have a Sig 716 and paid $1,999 + TN tax and background.
12. NIIIICCEEEE!!!!!   http://www.gunnuts.net/2013/10/17/ruger-sr-762/
13. I wish they were more clear on this law.   I can't really say if it is ok or not, or worth it or not the way it is right now.

15. I just need a yes or no here.   Can a college student with TN HCP leave his or her weapon in their car on a state college campus parking lot?   Because from what I read so far, it looks like you can't, but just want to be sure. Thanks.
16.   This^   But we need more Libertarians running for office!
17. Clear all your cookies/history etc., and see what goes.   A lot of times I have issues like that and cleaning out everything solves it.
18. I use the Free Microsoft Security Essentials and I've never had a problem with a virus since. It also doesn't bog down the computer like other antivirus software did.   http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-download   Try it.
19. Sent mine in today since they now say they have a fix.
20. I've given it a lot of thought and I see absolutely no reason to open carry. No offense to anyone else here because this is totally my personal opinion. OC'ing puts you at a disadvantage in a self defense scenario because if a thug sees you're armed and you don't notice him, he could get the jump on you. Worse, you might be targeted just because said thug wants to steal your gun. I don't mind anyone owning or carrying a gun. If you conceal and it accidentally comes out, no problem. But OC'ing just seems like a really bad idea for all intended purposes of having a permit. I believe the law of being able to open carry is just there to protect us incase it accidentally slips in to view. I hope they always keep this protection in place because it is hard to totally conceal a gun at all times when moving around and reaching for stuff at the store. :2cents:
21. I always said if I got another street bike, I'd definitely carry. There are people out there that will use their car like a weapon when they get made at a motorcyclist. Ask me how I know. One of the main reasons I decided I never want to ride a street bike again. heh.
22. I want the HK 416 22LR: http://www.hk22rimfire.com/?page=416-d145rs Pistol is cool, too. http://www.hk22rimfire.com/index.php?page=416-pistol
23. Not going to OC if I can help it. Aside from that, I thought you couldn't OC in Wal-Mart?
24. I get your point, but mine was more general in that we're lucky to even have the 2nd amendment. Without it, there would be no argument to have a HCP at all.
25. Thanks! Just another reason to love the heck out of America and the great job our framers did! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro v2.2
