  1. What do you think of Ubuntu Linux as far as viruses go? I've never heard of Ubuntu Linux getting a virus. None of my Linux PC's have a firewall or anti-virus. Well, my router has a hardware firewall. I have 3 old desktops that ran XP and XP Media as well as an old XP laptop. They all got so slow and crappy that I wiped one clean and installed Linux and the others I run Linux as a dual operating system mainly because I have so many files and photos of the XP side that I didn't want to wipe them clean. Anyway, Ubuntu Linux with Google Chrome makes these old PC's feel as quick as at least a Windows 7 PC right now.

  5. You guys had better copy those videos so you can reload the evidence. Liberal left-wingers have a real knack for covering their tracks and taking down videos.

  7.   Did I get it wrong? Is the .270 and 30-06 not mid-range calibers?   I thought the .223/5.56 and 7,62x51/.308 were the shorter range and the .270/30-06 were mid range while calibers like 300 win mag and 338 lapua were long range?   Correct me if I'm wrong.
  8. I wasn't expecting this to go short action 308.   I was kind of more interested in the long action mid range calibers.   But nonetheless, keep the info coming!
  9.   I had similar experience.   The ones I shot didn't move much farther away from where they got hit.
  10. I'm just curious what you guys feel is the best or your favorite mid-range rifle caliber? A round like the 30-06, .270, etc.   Do you still have this caliber? What rifle do you shoot it out of?   Is it affordable to shoot? Price per round?   Accurate? Best group? Longest hunting kill?   I fell in love with the .270 Winchester. maybe because it was my first rifle I ever bought at 18; a mosey oak camo Winchester .270 that came factory with a Leupold 3x9x50. Never tried to get a group test as it was a light weight hunting rifle. But I did take out a couple deer out in Trousdale at about 350 yards or so. It was zero'd at 100 yards and sighted in for some hand loads I worked up. Seemed like where ever I aimed, it hit. Great caliber for sure!   My Dad is all about the 30-06. :)
  11. Haters. :surrender:
  12. I agree, our current permit should be the "enhanced." But obviously, they wanted to limit us on carrying. So we need to progressively work toward the goal of being able to carry everywhere one step at a time. Nothing gets done in one whole sweep when you're fighting an opposing team with as many or more folks that oppose your goals. Who's fighting for Constitutional Carry?
  13. Small progressive steps is how we get there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro v2.2
  14. You want to see messed up, Google LiveLeak and "Effects of Krokodil drug on people" I warn you, it isn't work or family safe. Kind of nasty with all the rotting body parts and all. and.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2460854/Krokodil-Two-sisters-claim-proof-Russian-flesh-eating-drug-used-U-S.html

  17. Welcome! :usa:
  18. OK, I was talking College Campus Carry with someone and he turned me to the MS permit info. They have a "Enhanced Carry Permit" that allows you to carry everywhere except (see red text):   Firearms Permit Vs Enhanced Carry Permits Firearms Permit •CAN NOT carry in a Courtroom or Law Enforcement Office or detention center. •CAN NOT carry in Polling Place or meeting of the Government. •CAN NOT carry at any School, College or Athletic Event. •CAN NOT carry at establishment or portion of an establishment licensed to dispense alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises primarily devoted to such purpose . •CAN NOT carry inside the passenger terminal of any airport . •CAN NOT carry in any church or other place of worship. •CAN NOT carry any place prohibited by federal law. •CAN NOT carry where Private Business displays “NO FIREARMS” signage •CAN NOT carry in Parades where permits are required. Enhanced Carry Permit •CAN NOT carry in courtrooms during a judicial proceeding. •CAN NOT carry in any police, sheriff or highway patrol station or any detention facility, prison or jail.  •CAN NOT carry any place prohibited by federal law.      http://safefireshooting.com/MS_Concealed_Carry.html   Anyone know if our state pro-2A or pro-carry groups are working on similar permits?   If not, we need to get them on this asap!   This would be awesome if we could get the "Enhanced HCP" done here in TN as well! :usa:
  19. Found this: http://sierrabullets.wordpress.com/2013/11/01/sierra-responds-how-will-the-closure-of-the-lead-smelting-plant-affect-sierra-bullets/   Lead from car batteries, ehh?   So where does the lead for the batteries come from? China?   But I guess as long as car batteries continue to be manufactured, we're good?   So those green battery cars will be great for keeping lead coming to the USA for bullets?
  20.   Got a link to that info?
  21.   At this point, yes.   It would send a message, enough is enough.   And if the dope, Biden, screwed up, we could send him pacxking, too.   We need a zero tolerance policy for politicains who commit impeechable acts.
  22. Is this not impeachable?   Obama does not have the power to make law nor does he have the power of the purse. The House has the power of the purse.   When is this madness going to end?   http://history.house.gov/Institution/Origins-Development/Power-of-the-Purse/
  23.     Retail at online prices will be $2,750-$2,850 if not less than that.   Heck, their AR50-A1 50BMG retails for that much and you can find them new for under $3k.
  24. Last Remaining Lead Smelter In The USA Closing After 120 Years   http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2013/10/20/remaining-lead-smelter-usa-closing/   Guess the price of ammo will be going up!
  25. ArmaLite Inc. proudly introduces the new AR-31. The AR-31 shares the design and the accuracy of our highly acclaimed AR-30A1 bolt-action rifles, but with three MAJOR differences: the AR-31 is chambered in .308 Winchester, it is a short action version of the AR-30A1, and it accepts Armalite’s AR-10B double-stack magazines. That means you can use 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 round mags with the AR-31. For sub-MOA accuracy, think ArmaLite’s AR31! Caliber: .308 Winchester Barrel: 24" Double Lapped, Chrome Moly Rifling Twist: 1:10 Muzzle Device: Muzzle Brake Trigger: Single Stage Stock: Adjustable Cheek Piece (Height) & Buttstock (Length) Overall Length: 45.4" - 47.4" Weight: 14.1 LBS Your Price: $3,460.00 EA http://www.armalite.com/ItemForm.aspx?item=31BT308&ReturnUrl=Categories.aspx?Category=619e7cf7-40cd-49b6-9375-768553b099b8
