No. Not for everyday carry. Just think of all the douche bags that would be trying to go to Starbucks with an AR, scaring the sheep and taking up the LEO's time. Don't mind it concealed in your car or you carrying it to and from on your hunting trips, etc., though. But just open carrying it to be an ass, show off and challenge LEO's, no. I'm still shooting with a Nikon D300. Don't look past really good deals on an older body like a D300. Still great cameras that are very capable. Examples... Magazines...stored full or empty when on standby?
JohnC replied to Sidewinder's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I keep all mags unloaded, except the carry gun mag and the bedside self-defense guns. I have spare mags to replace them with if they get clapped out, too. -
As an LEO, you still need a TN HCP to carry on your person off duty? I thought LEO's could carry on and off duty without a TN HCP.

The AHS they do is much more intrusive than the ACS. Tons more questions on the AHS. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro v2.2

Here is the paper ACS form. Didn't take pics of every page because it asks the same for up to 5 people. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro v2.2

What he said. I was trying to find out something about the American Housing Survey (AHS) and came across a video of a top federal guy, I think worked for HUD or the census, can't recall which, but he basically said that. If any of you here did the "voluntary" (lol and they won't take no for an answer as they'll harass you for months to get your participation) AHS then you know all the questions they ask. Things such as all your income, including interest, retirement, savings, mortgage payment, value of HU, how much you spend in repairs yearly, utility costs, etc., housing conditions, public transit and if you have access to bus, taxi, if you have bike lanes, your satisfaction with your housing unit, police protection on your area, your education, all kinds of stuff. The AHS was a personal interview at your home by a census worker recorded on a laptop that took on average for an average middle class family, 45 minutes to an hour to do. Larger families and lower income respondents caused more questions to be opened up in the modules taking longer, like homes with multiple people living together because of low income for instance. My parents just got the latest census survey and they say this one is required by law. It is the American Community Survey (ACS). It asks a crap ton of personal questions as well, but less than the AHS. Will snap a picture in a sec... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro v2.2

I've got a FN five-seven and plan to get a FNX Tactical 45 next. Love me some FN guns! I do plan to get another 5.7x28 just because I want the updated gun as well. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/07/thumbnail/epu6ejy6.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/12/thumbnail/3ezy7uge.jpg I'm currently carrying the 5.7x28 because my XDs 45 is off for the recall work. I'm starting to dig it as my main gun now.

Two ways: Break the upper & lower apart like an AR15 and do a complete upper swap or Take the two bolts out on the under side of the rail where it meets close to the receiver, and swap the barrel, etc. Example in this video: http://www.gunsandammo.com/2013/01/17/introducing-the-barrett-mrad/

Don't see why at the very least, TN HCP holders could carry whatever knife they want since we are already carrying much more effective weapons. Besides that, I never think of a knife as a weapon. To me it is a tool.

Can someone explain why we're celebrating Nelson Mandella?

Here is a question I have. Is .338 Lapua ever going to come down in price? There are a lot of ammo manufacturers making it now, so it seems supply and demand should bring the price down eventually. Is there no military surplus brass, etc., coming back to the civilian market in .338 Lapua?

What kind of gun was it to go off when dropped? I'd say he reached for the gun or sh@t-paper and accidentally hit the trigger.

This is the last day to comment on the NFA trust. Do it before 12am EST!

Seeing as you can't cut a vintage gold coin open without destroying it's value (except for the gold itself in weight), I don't see how anyone can check to see what's inside their coins and gold bars. Is there a way to test or check without destroying the value? X-Ray?
-
Yeah, only ever bought from reputable gold dealers. I own zero gold at the moment. We bought at $900 an ounce and sold at nearly $1,900 an ounce. I reinvested the profits by buying some guns with the cash. Gold/Guns & Butter? lol FWIW, gold is back down to $1,200-ish right now. If it drops back between $900-$1,000, I'll get back in and wait for the next craze and sell high again.

The only alternative currency I'll ever invest in is gold coins. ;)
