Full Auto AR experience question
JohnC replied to Ugly's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Thanks! That belt fed is bad***! -
Avoid that Sig 716 if it isn't the latest generation. There are a ton on threads on the Sig forums about FTF and FTE issues as well as scratching and denting brass. Police Mag even had to send their back for warranty. Mine does all of the above. I'm going to send it back for warranty shortly. Only way to run M80 is over gassed and it still screws up once or twice per mag. My Sig 716: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Boker Kalashnikov Automatic - Bought Two!
JohnC replied to JohnC's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I love it. I would buy the auto for many reason. But the main one is the auto-seatbelt cutter; it actually locks when deployed where the old non-auto doesn't lock according to the BladeHQ video. -

Boker Kalashnikov Automatic - Bought Two!
JohnC replied to JohnC's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I think I see what you guys are saying. The $35 Boker has issues. A lot of creep in opening. The $25 Boker is better, but still not smooth. Not pleased. I guess It'll make a good general purpose knife that I won't worry about abusing. Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0z4KlpWLaS0 -

This all sounds terrible.... Really, it couldn't get much worse.

We've handed the entire middle east over to the muslim brotherhood and terrorist groups because most of what we've ended up doing is unseating dictators that kept things semi-in-check and replacing them with the worst of the worst militant sharia law jihadi terrorists. I haven't kept up with Egypt after the Arab Spring, but I think they did kick the brotherhood to the curve, so there might be hope there, although, last time I checked, they were murdering the hell out of Egyptian Coptic Christians, etc.

We have 3 desktops, 3 laptops and 3 iPhones online right now idling.

They all had different crap in their heads, but the end goal is the same. Kill as many innocent citizens as you can before your either caught or kill yourself. They're copycatting the style of killing. In mass.
-
Anyone getting the vibe that the more the media plays the mass killings, the more frequent they get? Are we seeing copycats now?

‘Open Carry’ Gun Fight Moves to Target Stores
JohnC replied to JohnC's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Is it just me or are some folks not catching this? -
‘Open Carry’ Gun Fight Moves to Target Stores http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2014/06/03/open-carry-gun-fight-moves-to-target-stores/ Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, the Michael Bloomberg-funded gun-control group that shamed Starbucks and Chipotle into asking customers to leave their guns at home, is setting its sights on the Target chain. The group turned its focus to Target after gun-rights groups advocating open-carry laws in Texas photographed themselves shopping at Dallas-area Target stores toting rifles strapped over their shoulders. “Moms have their eye on Target because it’s a place we take our children to shop — and we’ve been disturbed by some of the demonstrations that gun extremists have held with loaded rifles inside and outside some stores. Assault rifles have no place in the baby aisle,†said Erika Soto Lamb, a spokeswoman for the group. The group is poised to launch a campaign on social media to pressure Target. The group also held protests in front of local franchises during its efforts to influence Starbucks and other outlets. The National Rifle Association last week warned Open Carry Texas against staging demonstrations in stores, calling them “downright weird†and “not neighborly.†(Update: The NRA on Tuesday apologized for the comment.) The Bloomberg-funded group aims to take advantage of the rift between the gun rights groups. “We’re surprised that Target hasn’t already taken action to prohibit these displays — especially since the NRA has already spoken out on this front,†Ms. Soto Lamb said. Target, which boasts on its website that between 80% and 90% of its customers are women, has no restrictions on customers carrying guns in its stores. Spokeswoman Molly Snyder said Tuesday that Target has not been in contact with Moms Demand Action. “The safety and security of our guests and team members is our highest priority,†Ms. Snyder said. “Target does not sell firearms or ammunition, and while I do not have information specific to this organization to share, what I can tell you is that Target is committed to following all state and federal laws.†The Moms group, launched after the Dec. 2012 school massacre at Newtown, Conn., hasn’t gained much traction from its effort to influence members of Congress, despite sustained efforts to write and call the Capitol. But it did get the Starbucks, Chipotle and Jack in the Box chains to ask customers to not bring guns into their stores – though none of the chains issued outright bans. “When Americans actually see what’s happening they get angry,†said Shannon Watts, who founded the Moms group before joining with Mr. Bloomberg’s gun control operation. “Some of this is about showing the public what’s going on and the implication of these lax laws.â€

Yup. I have API, Tracer, etc. This is an aluminum tip lead core copper jacketed match grade bullet made by Hornady.
-
I ask because I just opened a box up I bought and it looks like nasty crap ammo. Those are loaded with Hornady AMAX, so you'd think they would look nicer having a match bullet. I hope this stuff shoots decent. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

NSSF Issues Statement on ‘Operation Choke Point’
JohnC replied to JohnC's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Some context: http://www.ammoland.com/2014/05/operation-choke-point-evidence-mounts-of-government-policy-to-hurt-gun-industry/#ixzz33DCvWmdb -
NSSF Issues Statement on ‘Operation Choke Point’ http://www.nssfblog.com/nssf-issues-statement-on-operation-choke-point/ NSSF today issued the following statement: The National Shooting Sports Foundation has been investigating the possible role of the federal government in influencing banks in their lending and business banking relationship decisions regarding companies in our industry. We have heard from several industry members that they had banking relationships terminated by their lending institutions. We respect the right of financial institutions to make business decisions based on objective criteria. It is unacceptable, however, to discriminate against businesses simply because they are engaged in the lawful commerce of firearms, an activity protected by the Second Amendment. NSSF staff has met with members of the House Financial Services Committee and members of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee concerning several documents that have surfaced from the FDIC labeling companies in the firearms and ammunition industry as “high risk.†As a result, we have worked with U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO) and expect that he will offer today an amendment to the FY15 Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill, which would prevent federal funds from being used as part of “Operation Choke Point†or in any effort targeting companies involved in the lawful commerce in firearms. We will continue to investigate the extent of any improper government involvement and will update our members as more information becomes available.
