  1. Well, here are the final build specs I've decided to go with: Mega Arms Forged Pistol lower Mega Arms Forged upper Mega Arms charging handle Geissele SD3G ALG Defense LPK Hogue grip Bravo Company forward assist Bravo Company complete ejection port assy Sig Brace with Phase5 pistol buffer tube Daniel Defense Lite II 7.0 rail Adams Arms (PDW) Pistol Length XLP gas piston Rainier Arms Select black 7.5 inch 5.56 pistol barrel Noveske KX5 Flaming Pig http://www.megaarms.com/ar-15/lower-receivers/forged-lower/ http://www.megaarms.com/ar-15/upper-receivers/forged-upper/ http://www.megaarms.com/ar-15/accessories-2/charging-handles/mega-grip-charging-handle/ http://geissele.com/super-dynamic-3-gun-trigger.html http://algdefense.com/ar15-m4-mil-spec-lower-parts-kit-less-trigger-less-grip.html http://www.hogueinc.com/store/products/ar-15m-16-overmolded-rubber-grip-with-finger-grooves-black/156 http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-AR15-Forward-Assist-Assembly-p/bcm%20forward%20assist%20assembly.htm http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/AR15-Ejection-Port-Cover-Assembly-p/ejection%20port%20cover%20assembly.htm http://store.sigsauer.com/1-0000.html https://danieldefense.com/rail-systems/ar15-lite-rail-iiitm-7-0.html http://www.adamsarms.net/pistol-pdw-length-piston-kit-xlp-no-rail http://www.rainierarms.com/rainier-arms-selecttm-5-56mm-barrel-7-5-blk http://www.noveske.com/products/kx5-flash-suppressor-w-crush-washer
  2. Just like the title... Will the Adams Arms XLP Piston Kit work with Daniel Defense Lite II Rail 7.0 on a Mega 7.5 inch AR15 pistol? I'm not sure the gas block will clear the inner diameter and I'm also not sure if the barrel nut is at mil-spec depth, which if it isn't, could cause issues with the spring system on the rod. I've been Googling for two days and cannot find one example of if it will work or not. :wall: Thanks.
  3. Which specific gas block are you running? http://slrrifleworks.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=57 I'm still working on figuring out my gas system and bolt. Not sure if I want to go piston, or impingement. But it will be a 7.5 inch barrel.
  4. Are these AA XLP piston kits a good reliable gas piston system? Anyone know if they work with my rail DD Lite Rail 7.0 and the barrel nut it comes with? http://www.adamsarms.net/pistol-pdw-length-piston-kit-xlp-no-rail I've Googled for hours and have not found a single thing stating if it will or won't work with my specific DD rail.
  5. Looks like someone with name ARnTN won a $200 gift car on AR15.com. Anyone here? http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_75/1775859___2015_Team_Member_Giveaway__.html&page=1
  6. They do a lot of surveys that most folks have never heard of until they get statistically chosen for one. To name a couple, The American Community Survey, The American Housing Survey, etc. A list of more here: http://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/are-you-in-a-survey/survey-list.html From what I can see, it is legit: http://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/decennial-census/2020-census/research-testing/testing-activities/2015-census-tests/national-content-test.html If you have any questions about the legitimacy of it and if you were really chosen, you can contact the Census Bureau and they will verify it for you. They will try multiple attempts of mailing and calling you (if they have your phone number on file) before they send a Field Representative out to your house. FR's will come out to your home and make attempts to make contact with you to complete whatever survey, contest, etc., it is. If it tells you anything, some of the FR's work on 4 to 6 month assignments at a time, so if you can imagine trying to get out of doing a survey, how often you will see random visits from multiple FR's trying to get you to complete the survey, contest, or whatever.
  7. It's not installed yet. I just place it against the receiver. I'm waiting on a barrel to come in and then I'll install it.
  8. Daniel Defense rail came today. I tried to do a mockup to see how it looks by just placing the rail against the gun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Well, got the Hi-Speed National Match DMR installed in the Ruger SR556 and adjusted to the point it feels good to me. It has about a 3lb pull to a wall like take-up, and then when I give it a little more it drops the hammer with a clean icicle like break. I adjusted the second stage pretty heavy on the on the start and then backed it off a little at a time until the second stage felt right. The second stage feels less than a pound, so just enough to give you proper feedback to not feel like it's accidental or something unexpected. The first stage feels like my S3G (but with the added wall). https://vimeo.com/138954729 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Nice! Let me know how you like it!
  11. Do I classify as a trigger snob yet? S3G in Sig 716 and SD3G in Mega pistol.... :D Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. If you're a supporting AR15.com member, they also have a HUGE giveaway going: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_1/1779293_2015_Team_Member_Giveaway__September_11th_.html Hope someone here wins something.
  13. Yup. Every time you share your link, you get 5 more entries.
  14. An upper, Rails, triggers, etc.
  15. Geissele is giving away free stuff. Enter here to win! :w00t: http://giveaway.geissele.com/icjy52/fv4lf3
  16. I got a ALG LPK on sale and free shipping, too. Can't beat that! The above will go in the Billet Ambi Mega AR15 build with the Geissele High Speed national match trigger.
  17. I'll take that 1.5 inches! That was one of the goals for this build, was to make it as short as possible for portability. So 1.5 inches IMHO is significant. All Phase5 and Sig had to do was make the hex part of the buffer tube a bit more short and it would have been much better.
  18. Choosing the SB15 was (1) For obvious better aiming and control of the weapon and (2) Purely like the looks of it better than the other options out there. What I didn't know is that the Phase5 aka Sig buffer tube would push the brace back so far. I'm disappointed in the overall length of it. Without a barrel, it's as long as my AK47 pistol which has a 10 inch barrel. I guess it'll work for now and once I shoot it, I'll like it better. Maybe something better (shorter) will come to market later on. I would have bought this, but folks have mixed reviews on it reliability wide: http://www.gunsmokeenterprises.net/product.sc?productId=5&categoryId=2 When I do a SBR down the road, I think I'll run this setup: https://troyind.com/products/pdw-stock-kit-blk
  19. Got two of them today. The other will be here tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. That's why you have to be strategic of when you take something to SCOTUS. I say we wait until one of the old liberals dies off and a true conservative or libertarian is appointed to SCOTUS (hopefully that happens once Obama is out) before we take anything else there. It's a dice roll for sure.
  21. Anything going to SCOTUS scares the daylights out of me! :meh: One more "opinion" away from losing ______________ right(s).
  22. More to come soon. I cheap'd out on shipping and went USPS on the rail, so it'll be a bit until that comes in. Still trying to figure out what caliber, which barrel, bcg, gas block and gas tube to go with, though. The .300 blk is tempting... 5.56 is just too easy not to do... 6.8 SPC? Not really read up on it yet. Have no clue what mags would work, etc.
  23. Looks like Oh Shoot answered it.
  24. BTW.... I've been told the urethane bushings, they don't break down, collapse and crack over time like rubber. They tend to just fall apart completely. So if those bushings are old, or even look like they need replacing, better do it now rather than have to pull it all back apart later to do it. New bushings don't cost that much. At least they didn't for my 97 Mustang GT. I got mine from Summit Racing and fwiw, they were cheaper than getting them direct from Hotchkis.
  25. I had the same issues with one of my Hotchkis LCA's. We ended up having to re-tapp mine and install a new Zerk fitting.
