  1. Let's keep it civil all. No hating on the LEO nor hating on folks giving opinions based on what we know so far.
  2. Yeah, as I said, I wasn't taking sides. I was trying to make sense of his decision to leap in to the bed of a fleeing truck with a potentially impaired driver.
  3. Exactly what was on my mind, and you are correct. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/06/28/politics/justices-rule-police-do-not-have-a-constitutional-duty-to-protect-someone.html
  4. I have a Century M92 PAP and it's a decent gun. Only complaint I had was the factory trigger sucked. But I'm spoiled on Geissele triggers, so you might not find it so bad. $499 here https://www.preppergunshop.com/m92pv-zastava-pap-ak-pistol-7-62x39-with-two-magazines.html Or you could get a Saiga Kalashnikov US132Z I have one and love it. http://www.kalashnikov-usa.com/firearms/modern-rifle-us132z $908 here: http://grabagun.com/russian-weapons-co-4.html Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Colt. I've got a LE 6920 and it's been great.
  6. I'm just enjoying the TDI MPG's! :D Look at that trip meter and not quite done with the first 1/4 tank. That's averaging around 50 MPG's. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Any progress on this is good. I hope that we can make this progress in TN as well someday soon. These folks would be who to team up with on the issues: http://concealedcampus.org/
  8. Wait... "The LEO jumped in the bed of the truck and opened fire in to the cab, killing the driver"? Really? Why did he endanger his own life by jumping in the bed of that truck? Why would he do that on such a petty (DUI/Public Intox) stop?   I could understand if he was wanted for a violent felony, fleeing murder, or murderer escaping prison, but this?  Why would a LEO do that just because a subject is leaving the scene? You have one in custody who knows the driver. You have a license plate and vehicle make. Why not do like the old days and let them run home and then serve them with a warrant for leaving the scene and whatever else he was guilty of (public intox or DUI)?   Just trying to make sense of this.... Not taking sides here.
  9. From what I can see, it looks professionally done. Good work!
  10. It depends on what the the priority of the person buying really is. Bottom line, if it is max mpg's and saving money, the TDI is where its at. Personally, if I could buy one of those fudged TDI cars pre-fix right now, I'd snap it up! You'd have a car that gets excellent mpg's and is reliable. Even after the fix comes, it probably won't lose much in mpg's so why write it off? The big bad Govt isn't going to come confiscate these cars. It's a simple re-tune via PCM program. Most performance shops could probably tune it to pass without sacrificing much mpg's.
  11. Only the new ones. Mine is a 2001 TDI with 170,000+ miles on it now. Buy a used TDI Beetle. They only run $3-5K and 47-56 mpg's city-highway. Your choice. :)
  12. Very cool! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I fill the TDI up to the fuel cap, but here are examples of winter mileage with lots of city driving and idling. Look where the fuel gauge needle is in relation to the trip meter. Don't mind the crud. I've not had it 2 weeks and it came to me needing a cleaning. lol Running on cold day... https://vimeo.com/158437005 It's a heck of a downgrade in performance from driving a Mustang GT, but I LOVE the MPG's! These Beetles can be had in this model year for $3-5K used. Just expect the interior to be falling apart and some pesky electrical issues such as keyless entry not working, roof liner falling apart, door liners coming off, ac/heat blend door foam blowing through vents which means not cold ac in summer and not hot heat in winter until you replace it, etc. All common VW problems of this era and you will see that if you search VW and TDI forums. Maintenance on these TDI's is expensive and will offset some of the fuel savings if you can't do the work yourself. VW wants about $1,500 to do a 80,000 service which is timing belt, water pump, idlers and pulleys, serpentine accessory belt and new TTY bolts. I'd also do the t-stat while its apart. If you do it yourself it is $300 in parts and if you need specific tools, another $200. If you don't know the history of the car, check the timing belt first thing. These are interference fit engines, so if the timing belt snaps, the Pistons smash the valves, so you'll then be adding a head removal, rebuild and reinstall to your timing belt bill that's already $1,500 if you're not doing the labor yourself. That aside, they're solid cars if you keep the maintenance up and they get 2-3x the MPG's of most other cars out there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I have a 2001 VW Beetle TDI. The sucker will get over 50 MPG's highway in the summer.

  18. Sounds good if you're doing a FTF sale with someone that you don't know and have no rep to go on.
  19. Ehh, do something different. I'd like to see some 6.8 SPC builds on here.
  20. That's what it is... The Yellow and Green contrast nicely.

  23. How much do those cost? Is the arsenal better than one of these? http://www.kalashnikov-usa.com/firearms/modern-rifle-us132z
  24.   Those are TFX not TFO, correct? Have you compared them side by side? The TFX brighter than TFO day and night?
  25. You might want to ask John Harris of the Tennessee Firearms Association. He's very active and responsive on Facebook.   TFA Facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TennesseeFirearms/   It is private, so you got to ask to join...
