Petition to stop magazine ban: SIGN IT ASAP!
JohnC replied to JohnC's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Every little bit helps. I won't sit back and do nothing until it is time to vote. I'll do both! It can't do any harm, but it can do some good. -
I'm more or less focusing on the AR, mag, and total quantity of ammo he bought. I realize some claim the gun jammed so he went to a shotgun and pistol. I was not speaking on how many rounds he shot out of those other two weapons, but I should have included that. I was just so pissed I forgot and made some typos. The politicians keep throwing up pictures of an AR with double drum mag. There is a lot of deception and I'm pissed that they're doing this #### to try for more anti-gun legislation!
-
So no one knows yet how many rounds he fired and our politicians are already trying to use this shooting to go after ammo and mags? This really pisses me off! Everyone needs to start signing the petitions out there (I posted one already) and hand write in this little fact that the mags and ammo quantity really had no bearing on his crime. There is no evidence he used the drum and by the body count, there is no way he fired more than 30rds of that 6,000 in the semi-automatic rifle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

With the new agenda being ammo control by our ignorant Commie government, I want to know exactly how many rounds this fool actually fired in that theater! So c'mon, how many was it? They keep tossing the magazine size on one of his rifles out there and the fact that he bought 6,000 rounds, but that shouldn't have any bearing on his crime since I know he didn't haul 6,000 rounds in there and fire it all off Rambo style! I'm getting sick of this ignorant media and Saul Alinsky politicians trying "not to let a good crisis go to waste" to throw in more Commie law and regulations that in the end will not stop a criminal or mentally ill person from committing murder if they so desire. P.S., last time I passed under an Amber Alert and looked, it showed 555 traffic fatalities in TN alone. Where is the outrage and anti-vehicle legislation? /end rant!

This is just another stupid attempt to get their foot in the door on more regulation on guns and ammo. It always starts progressively. So, why is the amount of ammo this guy bought the main cause for more control and regulation when he fired no where near the 6,000 he bought (according to what I've read, but no specific number comes up)? Because these clowns never let a good crisis go to waste! They want to use this nutt as a vehicle for more gun and ammo control. So I can't find how many rounds he actually fired on a quick search. Anyone know for sure? If it's like 20-30, we should really push that out there to the public to show them how ignorant this new regulation attempt is. :livid:

Obama sucks and I can not vote for that idiot. Romney sucks, but I'm forced to vote for him because the stupid republican party keeps sticking these clowns up there instead of a true conservative or libertarian. He is the lesser of the evils. It seems no matter who you vote for nowadays, you just keep getting more of the same - progressivism. It's just a matter of how fast and how much you get. The Reps just give it to us in smaller slower doses. If we don't start putting real grassroots conservatives and libertarians in office instead of the party establishment elites, we're doomed to just keep heading for constitutional and financial failure. My Dad was given this old 38 Colt a long time ago. We're just curious what year it was made. It has 3 patent years on the top of the barrel. If you can't see it on these crap iPhone pictures, I can write it out for you later. It is a Colt Police Positive and last patent date on the barrel is 1905. SN # looks to be 130053 I think. While they do not check everything and everyone, I have watched them dive in trash cans in shopping carts, etc. So your point is not valid. My eyes don't lie to me, Trek!
-
Trust me, I understood your point. I was just adding to mine as I felt I left out a few details..

I'm not defending Walmart. I dislike a lot about them. Mainly how they now treat their employees since Sam died and the kids took over. But they do have a right to protect their property or inventory. Most stores do it by camera alone, but Walmart is huge and full of people, so they would have to hire an army of loss prevention to watch all that real estate. I suppose it helps to have the door checker clear large items such as trash cans, and really full shopping carts for missed items such as things placed on the lower rack that sometimes get missed by the cashier or forgotten about by the shopper. In the larger scheme of things, they're not hurting over a few lost customers. But they are hurt over the tons of theft.
-
If you knew how much crap was stolen from each Super Walmart each year, you'd crap your pants and would not mind the retiree door greeters so much. Even if they're checking you after you just checked out. People sometimes hide crap in trash cans and larger items to steal more expensive stuff like electronics and even though you were checked out by a cashier, it is their job to double check behind them. While I was working for Walmart to pay for college, they had a chart on the wall in the break room with a break down for each department of how much in dollars was lost from theft. Electronics dept had lost $10's of thousands at a certain point that year. Just think, if they could prevent all this theft, the prices they have could probably even be a notch cheaper!
-
Go to Walmart on Old Fort about 9am on a Monday and you're good. The old lady doing the greeting was sitting on the chair asleep (eyes closed but still managed to hold her head up). The poor gal I seen at Walmart on the grocery side in Hermitage is getting so old her head/neck is bent down and looks like it takes effort for her to even look forward now. I think she has worked there a good while, too. That make me feel sad really. I hate to see age taking these tough old folks down. :/

Latest Class III: Guesses on Wait Time
JohnC replied to Semiauto's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Why the heck do they make this process so silly other than to deter regular folks with the wait and $200 tax? It seems like if you can pass a background check and buy a firearm, you should be able to have a carry permit and any class 3 toy you want. It's kind of silly to me - with say a short barrel AR pistol being class 3. It does the same thing as a long barrel AR and if I wanted to conceal I could buy a pistol. And none of this class three crap would ever stop a criminal from illegally modifying an AR in to a pistol or making a home made can if he really wanted to. Just pouring out my thoughts here. -
Lt. Gov Ramsey calls 2nd amendmant advocates "bullies"
JohnC replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Time for him to go. We can't keep re-electing these folks because the longer they stay the more they forget who got them there and what they're there to do! Power corrupts! -
I guess your right! This is what Wikipedia turned up! Cartridge, Caliber 5.56 mm, Ball, M855 (United States): 5.56×45mm 62-grain FN SS109-equivalent ball cartridge with a steel penetrator tip over a lead core in a partial copper jacket. [Green tip] Cartridge, Caliber 5.56 mm, Ball, M855 Lead Free (United States):62-grain bullet with a steel penetrator tip over a tungsten-composite core in a partial copper jacket. Primarily used during training in countries with strict lead disposal laws. [Green tip] Cartridge, Caliber 5.56 mm, Armor Piercing, M995 (United States): 5.56×45mm 52-grain AP cartridge with a steel core. [black tip]. It seems the wording is a little misleading when they call it "steel penetrator." So where is a good place to get the M995 AP?
-
He said these used to be $149, the last can was more, and this one is a little more than the last. I've seen ammo going up a little every time I look foor 5.56.
-
LOL Good cover. You going down there to get it now?
-
Yes, they've had them a while. But on my side of town, they've been out of the 5.56 ammo for months! Now they just happen to have one measly can. The only reason I didn't snap it up on the spot is because I only want FMJ AP green tip. I probably should have bought it anyway just for plinking. But I'm trying to get up the funds for a scope to put on my AR50-A1 .50 BMG, so didn't want that to set me back when I still have 800rds of 5.56 left from my last 1,000rd bulk purchase.
