Sounds like the AK guys were a bit disrespectful. I always check my surroundings before I fire to make sure my brass won't hit anyone or their guns. Maybe they got the message when you took out their target, though! It should sit as solid as your Barrett with those.

I compared what I wanted and the Nightforce comes up a little short. Nightforce didn't have a NXS with "first focal plane reticle" in a 25x or more scope. Doh!!!! I'd liked to have seen those! The wife was ready to go, though. I could have shot every single one of those API rounds I had left (probably about 105 more in the can). Could you see the flash and hear the impact of the API round you fired out of my AR50 or yours? Those rounds tickle the crap out of me every time they impact! So how do you like the AR50? I know it doesn't compare to a semi auto M82A1, but was it better/worse than you expected? Really enjoyed meeting you and seeing those excellent shootin' irons you brought out as well! We'll meet up at the range again soon!

Put close to 40rds down range. Nothing broke. I think this will work until I get the big money Leupold!

This is what a FCSA member told me. and some other 50cal guy... Theirs were 30mm and mine are 1 inch, so we shall see.

You should try college nowadays. My wife has 1 year to go before she has her Masters Degree. Those graduate classes are expensive! And I'm trying to push her to go for a PH.D. since she has the brains to do it.

What is a really good set of 1 inch Picatinny Scope Mounts? This will need to handle a 50 BMG, so no weak-sauce rings. I might be asking for too much having said that, but I'd like it to be $60 or less. I just picked up a cheapy Leupold 3-9x40 as a temp scope until I can drop the big cash for a Leupold Mark 4 ER/T 8.5-25x50mm (30mm) M5 with H58. I'm just going to do some fun plinking between 100-350 yards for now anyway. When I get the good scope, then I'll start looking for longer ranges. So help me out! I'm not sure which rings to stay away from and which are good while still being affordable.

There were like almost 600 traffic fatalities in TN on the Amber Alert last time I looked. Do we ban all motorized vehicles because of this statistic -- since it kills more folks than guns in the USA? How many people have been stabbed to death? Do we ban all knives? How many people have died from alcohol related accidents? Do we ban all alcoholic beverages? You see, we just can't continue to steal the rights and freedoms from everyone because a small few abuse their right or have an accident.

The problem with not communicating with our elected officials and just voting them out next election cycle is the bad laws and regulations left behind by these ignorant politicians. I want to stop them before they pass bad laws and regulations, and then vote them out for even thinking about doing it!

Thanks. I shot it for the heck of it without a scope. It's a whole lot of awesome! There is no more kick than a .22 long rifle and I'm not kidding there! Just some highlights... Shot it without ear muffs and just cheapy foam ear plugs. HUGE MISTAKE! It took out my hearing for 2-3 seconds, after which I heard an odd noise and then my hearing slowly came back. Of course some ringing ensued. It started to rain and the muzzle blast was blowing the rain water off the tin roof at the range! The only downside, you just can't walk up and start shooting a 50 at the range. You got to clear folks away from the muzzle blast and anyone nearby without at least ear muffs has to stop shooting and put their hands over their ears along with wearing ear plugs. I'm not sure how far away from the gun is safe with just ear plugs alone, but not sure I want to be the one to test it out! Is the AR50 louder than a Barrett 82A1 because of the brake? Or are they all this loud and have basically the same muzzle blast?

I think the devision between all of us on something as simple and easy as a petition points out more fail than anything else -- and could point to part of why rights get lost so easy. Sitting back and doing nothing more than voting isn't enough. Politicians get persuaded by groups in Washington and lose their way, signing away our rights. We have to keep reminding them to do the right thing or else they won't. Petitions, etc., have worked to stop a lot of bad bills before they became law in the past. How else will they know we oppose this stuff if we don't let them know? Like I said, I'll do it all. Call, email and petition. The more they hear and see from us, the better.
