  1. Fine job...cudos... I happen to be first gen. American, my dad came from Ireland at age 25, my mom's parents from Ireland as teens. My family never owned slaves, and some were slaves. Back when the trans-continental RR was being built, and "mountains were moved"...who placed the explosives? Look it up, historically..the Irish immigrants did..why? Because they were thought to be less human that any other race....now...where is our appology? Doesn't matter, we are to busy at work, making better lives for ourselves, to take a day off to get an apology. Not all African Americans have this "you owe me something, and I am here waiting for it" attitude, but far to many do, as well as other groups around this country. "Get of yer arse"...to quote my father.
  2. Mama, I have read this thread, fairly familiar with the Bible. (not as familiar as I want to be) I agree, it is something to pray over as a Christian. I do believe that one of the commandments is thou shalt not kill. I also believe that God forgives us of our sins if we ask him to. I heard many people argue that "if a murderer in prison seeks forgiveness, God will allow him into heaven?" I believe He does if this murder is truely repentant, and I don't think we as believers should have a poor opinion on this. We are told that all will be forgiven in heaven, and we will have no more sorrow. That being the truth, then we will no longer remember the pains and arguments from this life, so then we will not know murderer from preacher. Only God knows us, the true us. We have to ask Him and Him alone for forgiveness. Our friends, family members and forum folks will have their opinions, but for a Cristian it is God's forgiveness and mercy that we must ask for, and none other. Hope that helps. John
  3. Ummm..imagine...one good 9 yr old against 100 other BAD 9yr olds? I doubt that. I agree, it is the adults who ae ruining this for the league. Why not try to teach your kids to play better. If this is a beginning league to teach them the basics, well the very basic is how to lose. It is ok to lose when your 9, just don't act like your 9 when you lose as an adult...lesson #1.
  4. wow...Poppy..he looks good huh? Si..Si..day done a berry berry nice yob ub keeping him real
  5. Ditto...sorry Joe...but it made me choke too...glad I am not alone....anyone know the heiney lick maneuver?
  6. Apologies sermon8r..I got this whole thing off topic....back to you in the studio Sam............
  7. jjc...I am not saying that these folks get away with murder...lmao. I just like the LEO's I know, and those are the folks I write about. They don't abuse it, so it's not much of an issue for me. I guess some folks feel different and that is ok, I think there is a quote about it in the Bill of Rights somewhere...that we have the ability to have an opinion...heh...it's all good.

    advice about my usp

$250...heh...I googled it..$250 will get ya 2 very nice top-off's at any gas station
  9. Seriously Mike? I am from NY originally, been here 13 years now and was one of my first southern introductions. Personally not a big fan because my wife is a fantastic cook, and this is stuff she makes at home better than any restaurant ever could. She makes awesome fried chicken, meatloaf, potroast etc..... So, best meat and three...my house....use the secret knock, or you will get the not so secret response.
  10. My dog trees em in the backyard, but runs like hell when he sees my gun. he is kinda part house dog part panzy, with a mix of skeered sh**tless in him.
  11. Agree to dissagree....it happens. I do believe public officials have their obligations, and I do believe in the law. I guess I should quantify my "professional courtesy". If a public official gets popped for DUI, or 20 or 30 mph over..then yeah..that is definately worthy of punishment. I guess what I had in mind, and that I assumed you guys were mind readers ( I get that from my wife maybe?), is when they get a fellow officer doing 5-10 mph over, Give them the proverbial " warning". As far as judges dismissing their own tickets...wellll, this I have a problem with, and made it sound in my previous post that it was ok for a judge. As I am familiar with some of our awesome judges here in Nashville, I would prefere they have their license suspended on just about any ticket so that another judge can hear the case. Peer pressure and all...checks and balances. Sorry for the rant....sore spot...get me a band-aid
  12. Burning a flag out of dissrespect is "Anti-American", but the most accepted way to dispose of a battered and torn flag is to burn it. I had 3 uncles in the Navy during WWII, God help you inf you violated any of the flag etiquette. I think my uncle Jacky woulda personally kicked Obama right in the nuts if he were alive today. Thanks Verbal Kint...I should have read page 2 before I posted....oops
  13. HEH...these stickers have been around more than a year, my bro-in-law is a leo. He keeps the FOP badge on his plate and his wife's plate. Dad-in-law has used the FOP badge on the boat trailer, worked like a champ. As far as professional courtesy.....I am allll for it. I am not a LEO, but I have 3 restaurants in my family. If we know you, and you are a "good" friend you will have a shorter wait than most folks. As far as LEO's go, well...I think they, as well as firefighters, deserve professional courtesy. There are alot of Nashville judges that give themselves this same courtesy but never have to walk into a burning building, or face a loaded weapon on a regular basis. Sh**t...fell off the soap box...sorry..damn my ankle. ^5 those that do the job others can't or won't....
  14. Angus

    el oh el

HEH....we used to have a butcher 3 blocks from our house, Fred's Meats. Sign said..."You can't beat Fred's meat"....absolutely true...we used to have the t-shirt from when my older brother worked there.

  17. Right now I have a revolver..Ruger Security Six. I am picking out my new .45 this winter. Looks like it is going to be a Ruger p90. I really don't know if I am good enough to compete, but I do like the thought of it.
  18. One thing about a woman, anyone really, you can't MAKE then do anything. This may turn out to be one of those battles you shouldn't pick. I am saying that as a husband, not as a HCP guy. Remember one thing...If mamma aint happy....noooobodies happy. It sounds as if you have trained her to shoot, and explained to her all that needs to be explained about safety and the need to carry, she just doesn't want to for whatever reason..again, being a woman. Sorry, I am not much help. sometimes you just have to nod n smile.
  19. Sorry I missed it, the in-laws had me occupied....heh. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Tater salad you say...damn family.
  20. Thanks...I just got done U-Tubeing that...I'm a dork.
  21. Thanks for all the info folks. I am going to watch one or two, get the feel.
  22. Heh..thanks. I meant pistol shhots. As far as any other info, well...I have none. I don't know anything about matches, but I am wanting to learn. I have no idea what a 3 gun match is? I have looked up IDPA and a few other things. I am a total nub at this.
  23. LMAO...fwd to wife...anyone have a couch?
  24. I dug rabbit and squirrel hunting too. I was only deer hunting 2x's. Man, where I grew up, you could almost touch the neighbors house with one hand and have yer other hand on our house. Just a 1 car driveway between em.....blahhh..can't believe I used to complain aboout mowing that..I have just under an acre now....lmao
