I belive snopes.com may have some info about this? If I am remembering correctly, they will try to get you to call an international number, then hi-jack your phone...ie:you would end up with a ton of calls charged to this number. I am not sure if I am remembering all the specific details correctly, but it seems that I have heard this from snopes, or maybe even Dateline...etc?
