Do you have Honey for your SHTF "stores"?
tnguy replied to TerryW's topic in Survival and Preparedness
Yep. Water dilutes the honey and could allow things to start growing in it. Much of the work the bees do is flapping their wings to dehydrate the honey. -
He also never confirmed that he'd understood his Miranda rights. I'm not sure how important that is in real life but it was used in another TV show recently to get someone off (I'm thinking Dexter?) Edit: Actually it may have been Breaking Bad. Which considering the foreshadowing in this show, could mean it's meaningful.

With so many bullets flying and not hitting anybody, I was expecting Hank to turn to the camera and say "I love it when a plan comes together".
-
Hmm. Be sure of your target and what's behind it With that said, call me when there's a rash off innocents being gunned down by blind people attempting to defend themselves. Until then, this is a non-issue as far as I'm concerned.

I wonder how it is on spider bites? I got bit at the weekend and just waiting to see if it's going to go necrotic on me or not. -
We have the Lynx Levellers. Personally, I would not pay money for something that could be done perfectly well with some scrap lumber but wives being wives...

DC police can arrest tourists with empty bullet casings
tnguy replied to Worriedman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Hmm. Gotta wonder about all those heavy-metal bullet belts. I bet there are stores in DC that sell them. Also, it says "spent casing". What about virgin brass? Anyone know the text of the law? -
I may be misunderstanding what you are saying but be aware that the wheels are part of the support structure. The camper is not supposed to be suspended by the corner stands. If your corner stands are like mine, there should be a rod you insert and apply leverage to allow the stands to apply a little pressure to the ground. Ours never came with one but dropping them down by hand has always been good enough.

It takes about an hour to mow my yard, all in. Everyone seems to want 35-40 to do it. So I do it myself. It's just not worth that much. Five times minimum wage to follow a mower around?

I suspect "unreasonable" in that context originally meant without reason to do so. I.e. "He had no reason to stop me". "The reason I'm asking you to blow into this breathalyzer is because I saw you weaving out of your lane and driving 5mph under the speed limit". A follows B kind of reasoning. Not "You are a person, people sometimes drink and drive therefore I'm stopping you and asking for ze documents" sort of reasoning. The meaning of words drift with time, unfortunately (and often not without an agenda)

The internet doesn't care if I'm armed or not. Local businesses need to get a clue. I tried to head out last Saturday to do some substantial business I needed doing and both places I visited were not open on a Saturday. Lowes got the first piece of business and the other will have to wait until I can find somewhere to get to in the week.

I was planning on enjoying some chainsaw work this weekend but it won't start. ****ing ethanol gas.

You need to check it just before going to the checkout *as well* just in case.

We paid 1200 for one with a little wear and tear. Haven't used it for a while though.

I've still not got around to mailing mine in. I guess I'll be permit-less for a while. I haven't been carrying as much lately anyway.

That sounds about what I have been hearing. But the farm that sells its stuff in Whole Foods is at around $5/lb. -
Couldn't that be said for fingerprints, DNA swabs and other things for other crimes? Or is the issue that that may be damaged by being delayed by the need for a warrant? (If that's the case. I'm not that familiar with that area of the law)

Syria: Does Use of Chemical Weapons Change Anything?
tnguy replied to TMF's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Wait, is that the length of the video or of Kerry's service? -
I'm with you, I do believe. A breathalyzer is a valid part of an investigation. There's should be no "implied consent" about it though.

My daughter has you beat. She likes the comb but not the honey. -

I have a small hive. Last harvest I got a gallon of honey and 17 squares of comb honey. Not sure what I'm going to do with it all :) https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10201606224257712&l=6677478a3a -
You'll need to get the proper display drivers on there. Though Windows sometimes will get the resolution right with the default drivers too.

You may be thinking of Germany. Homeschooling is growing pretty well. Of course, that may mean the government turns its beady eyes on it sooner. It may be a while before they manage to do anything damaging to it though and your kids will be growing up in the meantime.

I'd suggest trying win8 before buying it if you're inclined to go that way. There's a lot of people not happy with it.

One thing is that if it's a HP specific windows install disk, it's possible that it won't have the drivers needed for your motherboard and other bits (though it's likely you'll get lucky). The next issue would be that because you have changed out parts and the install was for HP, it may require you to reactivate (which you won't be able to do with an HP license key).
