  1. Even with NEW brass? I just ran 500 with no lube and wasn't able to tell a difference with lube or not. Maybe Im lucky.
  2. I think something has been overlooked here? The Op wrote: So here are the details: American Eagle .308 150 grain. Zeroed in at 100 yards, drops 13.5" out at 300 yards. Federal Premium .308 175 grain. Zeroed in at 100 yards drops 15.8" out at 300 years. What? Shouldn't the higher powered round get to 300 yards faster and have less time for gravity to pull it down? The 175 gr is not so much higher powered just a heaver bullet so the heavier one should drop more at a given distance? PLUS The extra velocity at a given range would be due to how the bullets spins along with its weight. Look at throwing a football . One can throw a football for 10 yds with a lot of power even if its thrown incorrect with ball warbling. But you can get about the same if not more power when the ball is thrown in a tight spiral at a longer distance. And yes I may be way off here but it is somewhat clear in my weak mind.
  3. Use a cooler to carry your ammo in.??
  4. For those who FL re-size new brass (Ones I am doing are 308 got me to think this question), Do you LUBE your cases? Or better question if the brass runs fine in the size die with no lube should you lube it anyways? Thoughts? I know What I do but I am willing to learn if I am wrong.
  5. Rather good deal fro what you get on this re loading kit http://www.midwayusa.com/product/149937/product/?cm_mmc=M_Spop-Email-_-Clearance-_-Clearance_522201216_1-_-Product3&cm_mmca1=jeff@sigpower.com%20&cm_mmca2=CustNum=102609263
  6. So I guess when you transport your ammo and guns from the car to the live range be it in doors or out doors you need to transport ( carry) each separately. Those parking lot police love to watch for those who dont. So be super careful !!
  7. I have felt your pain. 8 times so far in my life. I know its to late for you but I stopped drinking soda about 2 years ago and things seem to better. ( Knock on wood) My last stone was 15mm long in size and 9 mm round. I had to have surgery to remove it. East Tn water an other parts of the state seems to have water that's just right to make stones with in some people. I also stopped drinking tap water. In its place I buy bottle water and lemonade along with the no sodas as I stated. I know many on the net say Uriflow is snake oil but it also helped me to keep the stones size down. I can now feel smaller stones around 2-3mm when they come out from time to time. Also exercise will help. I wish I had a magic quick cure for you as I do for myself as I know I will have another one day.
  8. OAL? Lee says 2.3xx something Lymans book says 2.250. This is for a AR so I need to stay 2.260 or under.
  9. I have some bullets ( didnt come in a box) The look like Hornady V-Max BT ( has red plastic tip) They weigh in at 73.3 to 73.4 gr. I weighed 50 of them. They are not listed on Hornady site and Im looking for a OAL to set and some powders to load with. Should I just run them as 75 gr V-max?
  10. Ok your in a jet traveling 1841 MPH ( or 2700 FPS) and your AR will shoot its bullet at 2700 FPS (or 1841 MPH) and you take a shot from in the plane out of the front of it will the bullet just set in front of the plane for a moment as it will do the same speed? Or will it go way out in front as if you shot it on the ground when your stationary? To make it easy what will the bullet do as it is going the same rate of speed as the plane?
  11. Thanks! Oh and I forgot I put a Timney trigger in it .
  12. Updated and ZOMBIE certified. Zeiss 6.5x20x50 On a ADM AD Recon 20 MOA mount.
  13. Ok then someone make the 458 Winchester magnum upper for the AR10. Id be happy. LOL
  14. With the AR15 there are many different caliber uppers that will fit the AR lower. These all run rather well with limitations to the mag and mag-well size. Then came the AR10. The same AR platform just beefed up to allow the 308 round to fit. To include a bigger mag-well and bolt (BCG) How about a 458 SOCOM MAG round. I will call it the 458 SOMAG. This upper could be made and would fit the AR10 or 308 AR lowers. The image below shows a 308 round on the right to show the length to compare and 458 SOCOM in the middle. The made up 458 SOMAG is the one on the left. I took a 300 WIN MAG case and cut the neck off. I then did a crude yet small neck size down so it would hold the 458 bullet. A proper sizing die would do much better. I thought of this looking at the way you cut down 223 ammo to make the 300 BLK with a 308 bullet. Now imagine if someone could make the upper and a bolt to fit this cut down 300 WIN MAG. With the case capacity Im not sure how it would fire but Im sure it would be more than a "Magnum" blast. Maybe one could even trim the rim down on the 300 WIN MG case to the 308 size so the 308 AR bolt would work. Ok Im done dreaming.......... But this might be doable or might not.
  15. So how did your meeting work out?
  16. Mid 60s maybe before. I have some 22mags I bought in the mid 60s with the 1 cent tax stamp. I just happen to run across them today.
