Looks like I'm moving to Fairview at the end of July. I would love to meet up with some fellow TGO folks that may be able to show me the best places to go shoot or just BS. Also if anyone on here kayaks in the West Nashville area I would like to know if there is anywhere good to go. Not too rough because I'm still new and also like to take the kids along but something with some fun level would be great. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Does this gun have any aftermarket finish to it? Had a 19 that had the NiB finish on the slide that caused some odd problems until about 500 rounds. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

That's not bad. Looks to be maybe 4-5" Looks like you could cut a few strips of ply to create steps to support a ply ramp up into the unit. If my math is correct you need to be able to support 140lbs per square inch or so. Shouldn't be that hard to support that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Depending on the jack they can elevate 4-6" Your first post about this elevation was 5-6". Now it is 6-7". Maybe a visit with a tape measure might be in order. Post a pic of the area and we may have some better ideas. The other option would be to pull the pallet up to the unit and off load by hand. 3/4" ply will get you to the unit. However ramping up 7" might pose a different problem. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
2 pieces of plywood is all ya need, gona take a bit of work, but you labor is free to you.
This! Two pieces of ply and you can go anywhere you want with it with a pallet jack. How close can you get the truck to your unit? As for the lip into the storage unit. A challenge but not impossible. Set the edge of the pallet up on it. Take the pallet jack inside and pull the pallet in until the wheels hit the lip. Depending on the pallet you may be able to release the pressure on the jack pull it back a couple of inches onto the slab and wheel on in. Otherwise you have to take the jack back outside push it in those 6" and the. Go back on the inside to finish bringing it in. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Don't do it. I've been down this road and was not able to get a title for the bike I had. Fortunately for me someone else bought my problem and I didn't loose anything. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Nice! Pretty similar to what I'm going for... Here is that other guy's first knife that inspired me, ridiculous for a first attempt: What makes you want to use A2 for your next one? Any staining or rusting?
I have some "staining" but it comes off with a scrubbie and some light rust but then again I just got back from florida so it was expected with the salt water. Both easily removed. I'm going to try a2 just for something different and of course inspired by a video http://goughcustom.com/blog/2013-10-15-steel-testing/steel-testing.html Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Yeah I used his videos as a tutorial for my first knife: Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Check out bladeforums there is a source several people recommend but I can't remember the name. Also some useful videos on goughcustom.com Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Not sure about local. I ordered mine from amazon for about $30 for an 18" piece that was 5/32 thick if I remember correctly. I'm going to keep an eye on what you find because I'd like to get a piece of A2 for my next knife project. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Never mind.

The $100 was for a week. Shouldn't take that long to unload a truck. It's $25 for a day. But as you said got to have a place to unload first. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
What really kills me is that there are a TON of warehouses in the Lebanon area, many of which are not high volume and probably have a lot of extra space just sitting idle. I just know they could do it easily for us, but you can't get those places to give you the time of day unless you know someone that owns or manages the place. That's why I was hoping to find a lead from this forum, to get a small warehouse that would help us out with minimal effort and pocket $200 for doing so.
That's exactly why you are having such a problem. It really isn't worth the time or liability (mainly the liability) for these warehouses to take on this shipment. $200 to a facility that moves millions a year - hardly worth considering. If you follow one of the links I posted earlier you can rent a pallet jack for $25. This might help if you can find a place you can offload. If you encounter a problem like you said with the lip on the unit pm me and I will tell you how to get over it very easily. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Most large moving and storage companies offer such services. Check with United Van Lines, North American Van Lines, Mayflower, etc. I can't imagine why you're having such a difficult time, unless you aren't happy with the cost.
I agree there is something else at play here. Two minutes of googling and I found a storage place that looks like a big truck could back in with a lift gate: http://www.aaalebanon.com/index.html And a pallet jack: http://www.absoluterental.com/equipment.asp?action=category&category=61 For me this would be problem solved. I ditched my laptop for an ipad about two years ago. I can do nearly everything I was able to do on the laptop on my ipad. My suggestion get as much memory as you can and get the cellular if you can. As for retina vs non I don't notice that big of a difference between my ipad with retina and my mini without. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

If all you want to do is run some lights and chargers then it shouldn't be that expensive to put in a system. I would suggest you look into which chargers offer 12v versions to save on loss from converting. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Thanks Dane, you were pretty close. I looked up the parts at HomeDepot.com. Assuming it's 2" pvc pipe, it looks like the 1st one will require 3 x 10' sections of PVC pipe, 2 wyes 8 tees, and 2 couplers,. That puts its cost at about $50 with a can of cement. The 2nd one requires 4 elbows, 4 tees, 1 wye, and 2 x 10' sections of the same cheap DWV pipe. Including a can of cement, it'll only run me $35 and I think I'll like it better than the 1st.Still hoping for more ideas, though.Don't worry, it's GOT get better in 2016.
Don't glue it. PVC hold together pretty well without glue. This will let you tweak it for a while. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
This is a very interesting topic to me, as I have two small children. I am currently looking for the "safest" hot weapon with a safety. I don't carry my revolver often for this reason. My children are constantly climbing on me, etc. Balls being thrown, airplanes, spills- you never really know :) I want to find the weapon through research and then train w it. But during that time of training- I may not carry chambered. Or I may only carried chambered away from the children or when I am in a situation that is quite uncomfortable. We travel a lot with the children and I carry hot in and out of restrooms and travel stop areas. But I am a nervous wreck the entire time. In the car it stays next to me in a gun vault and then unloaded when we are back w the husband or feel safe. I keep an unloaded shot gun near the bed as well when the husband is out of town. I wish I had the right answer and open to the right answer but it's like the threat that is apparent is the risk of my babies getting harmed...by me.Btw- I am taking opinions on a handgun that can safely be carried hot- with a safety, by a smaller framed female with smallish hands that can train to quickly disarm said safety, that wears tight clothes, runs, and has rheumatoid arthritis w a bit reduced grip strength that can't handle much recoil in a caliber that will drop a meth head and be enjoyable enough to practice with (lots) without flinching. :). Y'all know of one of those? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ladyhay, I have 4 boys ages 4,5,10,13. My wife and I both carry glocks. She is a small framed woman similar description to yourself except without the arthritis. I carry with one in the chamber and she does not (most of the time). My kids climb all over me and use the gun in its holster as a step up at times. We have zero concerns with a unintentional discharge. With all of that said my kids also know that we carry and know what a firearm can do. My 5 year old has already began shooting at the range. When considering how to carry please consider what your other hand will be doing during an attack. I would bet that it will be sweeping the kids in a safe direction and loading a weapon will be the last thing on your mind. When you decide on your method of carry do it that way 100% of the time. Having it chambered here but not there is a sure way to find yourself in a bad place if you need that weapon. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Looks like 2 or 2.5" PVC in the first pic. 8 t's 2 45 t's And probably 3 10' sticks of pipe. Total cost I would say around $30-40 at most. Probably cheaper. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
