  1. I didn't mean to knock the bike. I was just saying it is kinda like upgrading and servicing a 15 year old Sigma. It probably wouldn't be cost effective or gain you much. Oh, it definitely was back in the heyday of John Tomac!

    .357 Sig ?

Even though the .357 sig is based on the .40 case, the .357 sig case is slightly longer. If you re-size a .40 case it will be too short to be safe in the .357 Sig

    .357 Sig ?

Keep in mind for reloading that you can not use standard 9mm bullets in the .357 sig as the diameter is different enough to cause problems and you can not use a .40 case, even though it is the parent case.

    9x19 round

We all start somewhere. Thing I have learned is that the more I learn the more I realize I don't know. People who think they have it all figured out stopped learning pretty early in the curve. BTW - reason I listed all the 9mm variants is that in the store we have had more than a few people try to buy 9mm Mak for a .380, .380 for a 9mm, 9mm for a .380, or even 9mm for a Glock .40 9! Think on that for a minute!

    9x19 round

There aren't that many different rounds just a lot of names for the same rounds. What we typically call 380 ACP/Auto = 9mm short, 9mm kurz, 9x17, 9mm browning, 9mm browning short, ..... What we typically call 9mm usually refers to = 9x19, 9mm parabellum, 9mm NATO, ....... All the others just share the commonality of relative bullet diameter mainly being 9mm caliber. We haven't even gotten to the rifle variants! Here is a good read on the 9mm caliber 9 mm caliber - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    9x19 round

    well, get ready for this .... .357 sig, 357 magnum, and 38's are also 9mm ..... but not 9x19 . BTW - 9mm short, 9mm browning, 9mm kurz, 9mm mak, 9x21, 9x18, and 9x17 are NOT the same as 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9mm Nato, 9x19, ect.
  7. Your 15 year old bike is more than out of date. Even getting it tuned up is not worth the time or money. Cables will need to be replaced. I can guarantee you the dampers in the fork are gone and the oil is worthless. The components on your bike are not even up-gradable at this point as too much has changed during the years. Giant is the way to go for the money. They make nearly everyone else OEM frames. Jamis is another very good bargain bike. Make sure your rear dropout is able to take aftermarket gear changers as well as the bottom bracket and headsets.

    My New Rifle

Good to see you again Urse! I got the TWS Gen II rail and it is worth every cent and probably a few more. Makes the one drawback I had with the AK obsolete (cheek weld). Doing the full conversion completely changes the balance of the gun for the better. A trigger guard, grip, and buttstock and you're on your way.

    entitlement

So where is this money? It doesn't exist. Mainly because the Feds have been borrowing from it and are now borrowing from future expected income. IF they had never touched it like they said they would it MIGHT still be serviceable, but that point of no return past long ago. They are stealing from the Ponzi scheme. Madoff's got nothing on these guys.
  10. Have you turned it back on? I'm still not getting e-mails.
  11. There is no ambiguity on which weapons are classified as which. The ATF will tell you very succinctly. Any weapon sold on the legal market has a definitive classification. That being said there are a multitude of guns, some of which are very similar yet classified very differently. AK's being one of them. You can have AK pistols, SBR's, full-auto, rifle, etc. Some of the differences are readily noticeable, some are not. It is unreasonable to expect officers to know every weapon and it's classification by looks alone. The officer detained Leonard long enough to get a definitive answer to the weapon in question then let him go once it was determined. I would expect no less from our officers. The fact it took several hours is irrelevant.
  12. This has been hashed beyond reason on this forum, but I would hope Rangers would at least detain a person carrying what appears to be an SBR'ed AK47 in a local uppity park. He held him long enough to find out what the legal response should be and then let him go. IIRC the original story the gun was not confiscated.
  13. Evidently 50 Cent and some former Florida ATF agent
  14. D&T's normal rate is $25 +TICS. However, for TGO members it is $10 +Tics
  15. Well, he is the "Dark Knight". J/K. I can't wait. These movies have all been really good.

    CZ P07 Duty

I've not kept up with the issues, but IIRC the main issues were with the first batch of P07's. As far as I've read all those issues were corrected over a year ago. As to the infamous "frame bulge", I was the first one to report and send it in for this and it is a non issue. My Rami does the same thing and there have been no problems associated with the cosmetic flaw.

    CZ P07 Duty

I had a P07 about two years ago as well and didn't have any issues with it. The only thing I didn't like was at the time there were no holsters, sights, or parts available. Now there are and it has me thinking about another one. I currently carry a 2075 Rami P that I really like. Here is the link to my review of my P07. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handguns/25100-cz-p07-range-report.html
  18. Yep, the guy who wants to legalize crack is definitely a better politician.
  19. Exactly. Government cannot regulate what is good only try to prevent what is bad. When you throw absolutes out the window you get either a socialist government or a dictatorship.
  20. Some of you guys ..... You want an idealist until they are ideal. You want a politician until they are political. As far as marriage goes, this is a prime example of what happens when government takes something that was solidly and culturally understood and makes it "better". BTW - anarchy is NOT freedom. Freedom is the absence of negative consequences.
  21. It reads more difficult than it really is. Bring it by and I can walk you through what you need and how to do it. It is very simple.
  22. Some of them are EXTREMELY hard to push all the way forward. Just keep pushing. One we had in the store, it took two of us to get it forward.
  23. You will never use the FA. The dust cover is nice to have. The biggest thing to remember is that if you ever want to sell your AR the sporter versions will not fetch the best price.
  24. When you get ready to convert that thing, check out carolinashooterssupply.com Home Page. If you need any help with just come by and ask. I love playing with those things. Saiga 12's are the funnest 12g's I've have ever shot .
  25. Walther, while handled by S&W, is a separate process. As far as his original problem the laser was not just hard to turn on it was down right difficult and took a LOT of pressure. I hope they get it fixed for you quickly. The few times I have used them personally I was pleased.
