  1. Maybe some of you LEO's can clarrify but why where they trying to enter the house if they believed there was an armed individual inside? I've never heard of that being SOP, especially when they can see the guy through the door. Secondly, shooting through a barrier I think is going be probalmatic for the LE. Good shoot or not, it seems that the cops could have given more space, which they are taught to do, instead of closing the gap unecessarily. That of course assumes they had no reason to beleive anyone else was inside. Story doens't indicate. Just thought I'd post some thoughts from the other side.
  2. Both are great guns and were proven in the military test. The only real difference is that the FNP-45 is a HUGE gun. The M&P45 is realatively small feeling for a full size gun. It has a very similar feel to the M&P9/40, which was surprising.
  3. I'm going to try and make it with a few people. Possibly 6, including myself.
  4. Walther has the same thing. Their demo's of the P99 at Shot Show had them. Evidently it's only for Europe.
  5. Good choice on the 7.62x39. It just feels more fun shooting than the 5.45. That being said the 5.45 is a nasty round.
  6. Well, that was a Hyosung GV250 (an excellent bike for the $!) and it bought me the Vstar with louder pipes!
  7. The Yamaha Vstar 650 is what you are describing. I have one and love it. I can keep up with any cruiser on the interstate and it is very easy to get around town on with it's light weight and solid motor. Very easy to work on. The other benfit is that when you decide to move up the Vstar 650 is THE bobber project bike.
  8. That but the bigger issue is that most 9mm bullets have long taper bearing surface and will "slip" out of place. 357 Sig bullets have a flatter bearing surface to mate better with the small seating area of the .357 SIG brass. Some 9mm bullets will work, but I'm told it it better to just use .357 sig specific bullets.
  9. You may already know this, but when I was researching it I found out that you can not use .40 S&W cases or 9mm bullets. You need to use .357 SIG specific bullets and .357 SIG cases.
  10. Thread title was why he could not get elected. That has been discussed. You want to keep coming back to the same media complex conspiricy theory and that anyone who cites anything to the contrary is not intellectually honest as well as being unprincipled. Makes me think you are the one blinded by your "messiah" and not seeing the big picture. No president will fix all the problems. It will have to start on the local level and then trickle down to the Washington. No president can be all things to all people. At some point it is a compramise. You just have to decide which areas are the most important given the present circumstances. Anyone who has ever been in a relationships understands this.
  11. So ... getting the worse of two evils is better? Personally, I'm starting to adjust myself to the idea of a second term lame duck Obama administration. That will surely be a much better plan!
  12. I've had three XD's and two M&P's. I like the ergos of the M&P's better. Add to that the M&P is all stainless and has a much lower bore axis and I think the M&P is a better overall gun. That being said I really like the XDm's a lot as well. Their capacity is a nice feature.
  13. according to the ATF 922r is for importers compliance. No one has ever been charged with a violation and the ATF has admitted that enforcement post import is impossible. The is no way to identify parts origins after it's in country. That being said you are technically correct.
  14. Fox has not traditionally been considered part of the main stream media complex. Thus the reason I separated them.
  15. Which media? Mainstream media tries to destroy any and all Rebulican/conservative/libertarian candidates and Fox vasilates among the same candidates depending on who's winning polls/debates. Talk Radio guys all have different favorites. So ... I'm not sure where this unified "they" conspiricy group that has one goal of destroying Paul and electing Perry comes from. Outside of the "mainstream" media the others go with who ever is winning the polls and debates. So with that logic the "they" you refer to is "us" who vote.
  16. GB never went after Sadaam becasue our stated goal was to get them out of our ally Kuwait. We did that and left. Look how that turned out. We should have finished it then, but politics were not so different then as they are now. As far as WMD - He had them. He used them to great effect in Kurdistan, Iran as well as inside Iraq. We found a lot and many went to Russia among other places. Dislike him if you want but broad generalities that accentiate or minimize the facts just make your arguments invalid. If you recall this is the same fact crapping that got dumped on our troops after Nam.
  17. If you buy the pro series you get roughly $200 in value for roughly a $95 upcharge. So, it is a cheaper and easier way to get night sights and a better trigger for fairly cheap. If you do it yourself you will pay more but will get a little more dialed in trigger and more options as to what sights you want. The APEX is very easy to do.
  18. The problem was with the older Century builds. I think they had monkeys with hammers on those things. Currently Century is subbing out their builds now and the quality is better. As to the OP, a WASR is fine for what you are looking for. If you want a nice one get one of the Arsenals (using the Saiga now) or get a Saiga and convert it. Like Mike said, stick to com-block accesories for the AK especially mags and barrels. US manufactures just can't seem to get either right.
  19. I always thought the dabate was left between .270 and 30-06. I didn't know there where any others. Seriously, both those can be loaded for anything from dangerous African game to any Europena or American game, large or small. .270 can load down for the smaller stuff a little better than 30-06 and 30-06 can be loaded a little heavier for the bigger stuff better than .270. Either way both great rounds. I prefer .270
  20. There is so much non-sense and mis-labeling in this statement I don't know where to start. This whole thing is WAY off base. I've been a pastor for over 13 years and been through several seminaries and there is nothing in your statement that rings true. Who ever has been spouting this stuff to you as truth is akin to snake handler's in Appalachia. This is not personal towards you, as I realize you are stating what you percieve has been taught to you, but this is not normal. I can also assure you that Sharia Law and the Torah are not the same. There are some simalarities, but they are entirely different in principle.
  21. Over simplyfing complex issues is the first sign of ignorance and paranoia.
