  1. I really liked the original upper, but it was a little heavy for my kids (being an SPR barrel and all). The combination of the barrel I have now and the really light Troy rail make this very light.
  2. Nah, just the dot-matrix, but I figured it was good enough. BTW - here is what my OP tuned into. Sabre mid length upper, Sabre lower, Troy TRX Extreme 11", Troy Lo-pro GB, Magpul BUIS, Tango Down Battle grip, Vltor Mod Stock, and EOTech 512.
  3. In you inbox it shows how much storage you have left. All you gotta do is look. You also have the option of achiving and storing your PM's on your own computer.

  6. No. They ruled that it caused undue suffering in open wounds and so it is not legal. The irony is that lightweight obsidian, that has been pre-fragmented so that it breaks apart on impact and tumbles inside the wound channel, is perfectly legal. Go figure! I told it bounces around inside the target and makes a nasty mess.
  7. My biggest concern how much you have to have before the ATF (I'm assuming they govern this) considers constructive intent and whether or not it is safer to have a manufacturers license?
  8. Brent I too have been thinking this through. Here's my thoughts. Lately I've been simplifying my weapon choices and ammo choices to make the most viable worst case scenario choices. I recently acquired a revolver but that got me thinking about making even better weapons/survival choices. I figured ammo availability, carry-ability, conceal-ability, and efficiency were key components. So after searching to the end of the internet through swords, knives, spears, auto's, revolvers, black powder, bows, and calibers I made some choices. I had already unwittingly begun to stockpile the best ammo around and realized my best choice were rocks! I mean seriously who wants to get hit in the head with a rock! The unlimited resources around from abandoned quarries, river beds, bluffs, my own backyard, and driveways means I can always have a supply of readily available weapons that can also be easily carried. My weapon platforms are also nearly unlimited. With a simple slingshot I can use pea-gravel like shotgun ammo and then quickly change to larger jagged rocks for close in heavy damage or switch to smooth brook stones for long range accuracy. I can also use a simple sock filled with different weights and sized stones to make less-than-lethal to lethal club. If it gets really bad I can always just use what God gave me and throw them with great accuracy. My biggest question is if I want to break large boulders or obsidian into smaller weapon specific sizes would I need a manufacturer license? I know once the SHTF it won't matter, but I'm just thinking about getting ready before it all goes bad. Share you thoughts. BTW - here are my "hidden in plain sight" stockpiles of ammo. The rear "walkway" is what I'm going to use for shotgun type ammo for the high powered sling shot and the front "driveway" is my larger heavy duty weapon stockpile. I may need to move closer to a river bed to get an ample supply of long range "sniper" loads. Rear "walkway" Front "driveway"
  9. Thing is I have an AR that is no longer th one above! Sold the Stag lower and got a Sabre to go with the upper. Then I got a good offer for the upper so I traded it for another upper and cash. So the only things left from that picture are the BUIS, grip, stock, mag, and EOTech. Funny how these things go.
  10. If it is indeed a spring issue, check with Wolff. You can get an assortment of springs and find what works. Springs for GLOCK Semi-Auto Pistols
  11. HKS 36A and a TUFF QuiclStrip
  12. You mean the SP101 you just got a couple weeks ago! Haha. Yeah the trigger on the LCR is definitley something I can handle better than the other revolvers I 've played with.
  13. I've been thinking about getting a lightweight carry revolver for awhile and when this one came in the store on a trade, I decided to pick it up. So far I love it. Being an auto/SA guy my biggest problem with a revolver has always been the double action trigger but the LCR is about as good as I could hope for. Even the Smith Pro series have heavier DA than I would like (although they are sweet!) Anyway, her it is with the Hi-Viz FO front sight which are a very nice addition IMO. BTW - the Tuff QuickStrips are a must have if you are going to carry extra loads.
  14. Limp wristing is my first and best guess. It may not seem like it but in that short a gun with that hot a load you're probably flexing more than you realize.
  15. Yeah, it would look good with a Nikon scope on it! Haha. Think I'll keep it for a while.
  16. If it's fair your after, hang out in the woods with a spear and a Salmon. Seriously, hunting is not "fair" in just about every format. That being said, there is a difference between food hunters and fun hunters. I don't like "fun" hunters in any form. I personally don;t care how "food" hunters get it as long as it's safe, and responsible to the environment.
  17. Good call IMO.
  18. I gotta say the two Ultrafire flashlights I've had have been great. They've held up great and are super bright. Battery life is very good as well. For the money they are hard to beat and i won't feel bad if the kids loose one or they get beat up. Here are the ones I have. Would probably go with the single light mode on the next one. Ultrafire C1 R2-WC 5-Mode Memory 250-LM LED Flashlight with 2*Assault Crowns (2*CR123A/1*18650) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme BTW - the 18650 battery is a single battery that takes the place of two CR123's. In my exerience they aren't as strong as two good CR123's but the battery life is a lot longer.
  19. Also, add the extended grip mag and it makes a nice handling gun a great handling gun. Picture above show the extended mag.
  20. Yes. Several guys in the store have LCPs/P3ATs and 238's. They take the 238's to the range and run 200-300 rounds at a time through them. You won't do that with an LCP/P3AT. The price is worth it.
  21. Yeah, I see that. The one I was looking at must have been an older one becasue it was different. I'm with you now. Either way the problem arises from inefficient cross refrencing material. I had it backwards. BTW - I didn't doubt you, just couldn't figure out what I was missing.
  22. I know the difference. That's what we are taking about. When I read TN code 39-17-1351 there is no (h)(3). The last entry the hcp code is what I referenced above. What am I missing? I talk to these folks and this is also what they have told me directly.
  23. That's incorrect. The state only checks with the TBI and the local sherriffs office for HCP permits. The TICS is run through the FBI's database system. Not sure how those have different information, but this would not be the first time cross refrencing information across agencies has been faulty and ineeficient. TN Code: 39-17-1351 Accroding to the TN code nothing is sent out of state. One set of fingerprints stays with the Sheriffs dept. and the other with the TBI. Read the above code and then compare to the TICS check:
  24. Not exactly. The HCP background check only checks the TN records and does not pull the full federal records. We have seen people who just got their permits be denied on a gun purchase. Reason being the TICS check is run on the federal system and covers much more. For instance something shows up in a state other than TN so they get cleared on the permit but denied on the purchase. As far as expungments go, make sure they get pushed all the way through the Federal system. A lot of denials happen becasue the charge is still pending on the federal level while being expunged on the state level. A lot of lower cost lawyers will only do it half way and not finish the job. This is why a lot of denials get over turned on appeal. It just makes it easier to check both the federal and state records.
