It's kinda of apples and oranges. The Saiga is a far better gun in every respect, but it's in a different form. You can get one of the new Saiga IZH-332 that has the front end already converted for less than a WASR. Which makes a full on conversion a LOT easier if you decide to go that route down the road. or you can get a Saiga IZH-132 tha already has the back end converted. Cost about the same as a WASR. Let me know when you are coming by the shop and you can see the difference in a converted Saiga (the IZH-332) and a WASR.

Benefit of the doubt on ambiguity and keeping with the COC of maintaining good relations with fellow members. Just sayin.

I apologize for getting off topic on an off topic post. These threads are supposed to be geared to the OP and I did assume it was in regards to that. I certainly agree with you on some of the other nonsense post that were made, but I was ignoring them as the ignorance that they were. Miscommunication on my part for assuming as I accused you of doing. Really thought this thread is getting hard to follow. Seems there are about three or four different rabbit trails going.
-
Oh, agreed. Some of those post are really out of place both in regards to morals and the OP.
-
The moral dilemma is one that is assumed, not in fact. This thread has turned into some major moral dilemma that was neither presented or asked, but inferred by OTHERS who assumed they knew the intention of the OP. According to the OP he opened the can not knowing what it was and the dealer was closed so he couldn't call once he realized the error. Whether or not he called first thing this AM and paid for it or sent it back is not known. Give the guy a break, relax on solving the worlds morality issues on an internet forum, and climb down from the ivory tower. I don't know TNT well enough to vouch for what he will do, but the interactions I've had with him lead me to believe that he has been completely taken out of context and fully intends to do the right thing. It would have been as equally easy (and morally right BTW) to assume he was asking in innocence rather than assume he was some moral-less thief.
-
Seriously? Over estimating ones self importance you are. . Making mountains out of molehills.
-
What TNTNixon does or doesn't do is up to him and the dealer. So far there is nothing he can do till they open anyway and then it will have to worked out. He didn't know when he opened them what it was. It happens. Either way he's been down and trying to get back up. Glad we have someone to kick him back down and make sure he's corrected.

Well, they did make 37 million of them. Knowing the communist Cold War ere efficiency, I'm betting there are probably some unused Yugo cars still sitting in abandoned factories with unissued Mosins in the back.
-
I have the same one. It always jams.
-
Good to hear from you again. We've missed seeing you in the store. I pray all is well with you dad? Anyway, the Mosin will handle the crappiest ammo you could ever find so you should be good to go. Congrats on the gun BTW!

I didn't say it was a good arguement.

NIce article by an actual lawyer. BTW most PO are privately owned and then leased to the government. http://rlwesquire.wordpress.com/2008/06/09/question-about-concealed-carry-in-a-post-office/
-
Post offices are posted at the indoor counter. I can't find the specific ruling but I was under the impression you could carry into the PO Box area as long as you didn't carry to the counter area. Thus the reason it is seperated by a door and a posting on the inside door.

Not too long ago .380 was the most widely used PD gun caliber in the WORLD. It is still largely issued in Europe and many other places.
-
One of the new Taurus .380 Revolvers might not be a bad idea. They are still small and comfortable to shoot and the .380 won't recoil as bad as the .38 spl. You will probably want to have some work done on the trigger, but it is the only thing in that niche ATM and for the money you won't feel as bad if she doesn't like it. It sounds like she would be a little recoil sensitive and if that is the case stay away from the little .380's (LCP, P3AT, TCP, etc.) Those things are miserable to shoot for any time for someone who isn't recoil sensitive.

Search will help, but essentially a Saiga is a Russian AK that they configure to be able to import under a "sporting" gun classification. It is fairly easy to convert them to a standard AK. They will take AK mags once you install a bullet guide and take a little material off the mag catch.

Total Election Fraud Against Ron Paul Documented!
Smith replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I think you will find the TGO community is pretty diverse when it comes to politics. That being said I hear A LOT from the Ron Paul people here. The problem with Libertarians/conservatives is we tend to get locked into these all or nothing stances. That is the reason Ron Paul will never be more than what he currently is. I like Paul on a lot of things and not so much on others. I can say that about most of the rest of the candidates as well. Believe it or not there are other issues besides 2A issues. As far as to the OP, Ron Paul can't get elected because there are not enough people to elect him. Even if there were such a thing as a completely fair, no fraud election he wouldn't make it into the top 3 ... on the Republican side. People who vote for Ron Paul are exactly why a guy like Romney and the Republic-rats continue to stay in power and lead these primaries. He is the Ross Perot of current conservative politics. -
Keep in mind the MP5A5 barrels are threaded at the ends for the shroud. There doesn't seem to be any issues with that setup, so I can't see how shortening the barrel and threading it could be an issue.

... and OH! That AK is a sweet one! Aresenal does great work.

Primary Arms micro dot vs Aimpoint
Smith replied to Wingshooter's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Trust my life to the PA? No, but then again realistically I don't plan on being in any life or death scenarios where the difference is my optic and I'm not backed up my a few Blackhawks. The PA's are nice but I really like the Vortex Strikefires or the Vortex SPARC better. I went with the SPARC. Lifetime warranties and they have proven to hold up under abuse. -
That's kinda of a misnomer. Kydek actually touches the gun a lot less than leather but the few places it does it will wear. Leather wears a guns finish more due to the fact that it touches all over the gun and tends to hold in dirt, grit, and moisture that scratches the gun unlike Kydex. The thing is it wears the finish more evenly so it doesn't look as sever as Kydex. This is form my personal experience as well as what DM Bullard and Kevin at K&D told me. That being said how much you use your holster, drawing/re-holstering, and maintenance are the biggest factors in finish wear. That being said, those who have the VM love them and those who have the Crossbreed love them as well. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Actually they are made by Walther (very good reputation BTW) under liscense from H&K imported by Umarex.
-
The HK's aren't "clones" as they are licensed and made for H&K. They are identical with the exception of the caliber. The GSG is a decent gun but it is definitely not on par with the H&K. Lots of plastic there. I know of a few guys that have SBR'd their H&K's, re-threaded, and added cans. Expensive way to go for a .22 SBR, but a lot cheaper than an MP5

The location of the ND is irrelevant. I've preached with a gun in the pulpit on several occasions, when necessary, and you couldn't have caught me in the office of the inner city church I pastored during the week with out it on me. Very sad story indeed, but people are people no matter where they are. You can legislate safety of thought.
