Well, those are the fancy ones. They should have more primer grey to them.

RFC: unleashed dog, toddler, and a lowes parking lot ...
Smith replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Pick your kid up and a good swift kick right under the chin will stop most of them. For the rest, well, that's why we carry. -
That thing is awful! It's like putting a lift kit under a Pinto and putting 44 mudders on it! It's just wrong.

You're wanting to argue the tree instead of the forest. I won't do you homework for you, but I will give you one hint. You live in the greatest country in the world that just happens to have been born and forged in the fires of oppression. We are the fruits of that labor

I agree with what you deleted. My focus was not blacks, but any group that uses race as an excuse for mediocrity. Whether that be white, black, green, purple, whatever. I've seen just as much of it from other races.
-
True. I'm not black so there's no way I can know. I'm the privileged white who is in denial. However, I am a white guy from Arkansas, who grew up in Memphis, who's been around the world, has a black sister, a Hispanic sister-in-law, German brother-in-law, with a history and a philosophy degree, and came from a family that came to America as debtors, criminals, and sharecroppers through South Carolina. What in the world does that have to do with statistical realities in the historical context? Again, segregation is bad, wrong, evil, and ignorant. My point has nothing to do with segregation. Rather it was to compare and contrast the black community during segregation and in it's current state to show that the so called "white privilege" theory has nothing to do with the current state of the decline of the black community as related to current perceptions of oppression. "White privilege" is a cop-out/excuse for this generations sub-mediocrity. "White privilege" is a simple test. If it is the source of black oppression currently, then the black community would be better now then they were under overt "white privilege" ie segregation. It doesn't hold water.

Look at New York during similar periods. There is a reason there are different ethnic Burroughs in the major cities and it's not just because it made the place more interesting. You might need to broaden your experience. BTW - personal experience means little in this context. Also, didn't say times were better but as a culture they did better. Innovation, marriages, traditional family values, abortion rates, drug rates, violence rates, crime rates, fatherless children rates, education rates, prison rates, ..... Just about every quantifiable measurement of a healthy culture was better. Of course that is not an argument for segregation, just saying that the black culture was built on the backs of those who persevered then turned over to a spoiled and ungrateful generation who have settled for less than mediocre. That's also not to say this hasn't happened to other cultures and societies. Fairly common, it's how we get liberals.

I should also add that the article itself is some of the most incredibly flawed nonsensical philosophical garbage I have seen in a while. If you deny it, you are socially ignorant racist almost by genetic default and if you agree it is because you are not part of the "privileged." Again, people trying to explain their mediocrity with intangible, unmeasurable, indefensible, emotional garbage. It's the same logic that claimed the world was flat and any one who disagreed was a heretic.

"Racism" comes down to people (any race) looking for someone else to blame for their lack of character, success, or work ethic. I reality most people groups tend to do better under oppression. The black community in America actually did far better under segregation than they are now. Every societal statistic backs that up. This country thrived and exploded in ingenuity and character every time we were doubted. Keep in mind just about every ethnic group that came to America experienced racism. It made America what it is. Point is, it is difficult when you have everything to explain why you've done nothing with it. Racism, for a lot of people, is an easy emotional rationale for why they are cowards. These people use the brave character of a generation past like Paris Hilton uses her family name and fortune.

Had to sell a couple but also found a Draco! Here are mine. Still have to SBR the Draco and get the Bullpups Unlimited stock or Spec-Ops stock, but other than that I'm pretty much done with these. Top to Bottom: IAC Hawk 982, Polish Tantal '74, Draco, Sabre build (Troy TRX, Tango Down Battle grip, MagPul BUIS, & Vltor Mod Stock), and my favorite Rossi '92 with Lyman Tang sight.

Got to play with a post sample PKM

That's just awesome! BTW - you might want to invest in a hat and some sunscreen! -
Every maker is having the same problem. Daniel Defense told me in February they were already 90% sold out for the year. The distributors are also telling us that ammo and guns are getting scarce. It's going to one of those election years.

So I discovered I've got a few opossums taking up residence under my house and in one wall (accessed from the crawl space). It's a mother and what was 4 juveniles. They aren't there in the day but come back every night. They are getting in around the AC unit and I've sealed it up as best I can but there's no way to get it completely closed off. We set traps for a week now and they zip right past them. I got fed up and stalked them last night with the BB gun and killed two of the juveniles and I believe I hit the other two youngster but the BB gun isn't going to do much for momma. I don't want to kill them bu the little ones are tearing into the kitchen wall behind the dish washer. Any home remedies for that would send them away or just keep hunting. Can't shoot anything other than a BB gun under the house without hitting AC lines and plumbing. They come in around 9-10 pm. BTW - Animal Pro's came out and set traps and over the course of the week all we caught was a neighborhood cat. Not thrilled with them and the $150 I paid to have the opossums dealt with humanely. Of course not a whole lot they could do aside from being there at night.

Yep and with Ruger's announcement that they aren't taking any more orders this year the famine will continue with ammo and guns. I talked to Daniel Defense at the end of February and they told me they were already 90% sold out!. This is going to be an interesting year.

I do sometimes when it's cold due to the carburetor, just to keep it warm. Otherwise, I think it's annoying. It's kinda like the guys at the gas station who have to leave their radios playing in order to mark their territory.

You REALLY need to get your info from the BATF before you commit a felony. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse under the law.
-
IF you did the transaction out of state, regardless of where you live then transport it back across state lines... felony. Going to Alabama - we are back to square one. You don't need a bill of sale for any transaction, but you do need a FFL background check if the handgun is crossing state lines. No assumption, you said Memphis State (University of Memphis = TN + You are residents of MS = Felony.

Looks like a Glock, Walther P99, SR9, and XD had a baby.

I've played with all of them and I would definitely get the SD before I'd get a Sigma. That being said the M&P is worth far more than $140 over the other two. Reasons being are parts, trigger, accessories, features, sight availability, magazine cost, etc. Just counting magazine cost, you will nearly cover the $140 difference in two or three mags, not to mention that the frustration you will find trying to get a good holster for the SD or Sigma will be worth the price difference.
-
And it gets better: Buying of Craigslist On a college campus Across state lines ... I wonder what the next felony will be?
-
that's because CTD doesn't stock any guns. They drop ship from two different distributors. CTD processes the money and that is it. They never see the gun you ordered.

This thing is heading to all places epic!

Conversion of G33 from 357 Sig to 9MM--What's needed?
Smith replied to lshel's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
The Lone Wolf will be fine. You will need 9mm mags. You may also want to get a solid guide rod and lighter springs for the 9mm. -
Are we really surprised by his lack of judgment?

Not just the head coach, but a lot of the assistants got suspensions (not a year though). Going to be a hard year for them.
