Again no one suggested breaking the law. Dolomite you may be buddies with one guy but I know for a fact if I call 5 BATF guys I can get 5 different answers. Making absolute statements on opinion of contradicting laws does not make it fact or enforceable. Everything posted here and that I've read over the last couple years disagrees with your opinion and your ATF buddies counsel. That does not advocate breaking law. Problem is just what you stated. Agents don't know the law because its like IRS code, following one law you break another. The BATF is not underfunded our undemanded, they are doing exactly what an unconstitutional bureaucracy does; suck resources and make legal citizens criminals. I don't want to cross them any more than their counterparts at the IRS for the same reason. However, I will not be held hostage to their whims and loose interpretations of arbitrary code.

While that may be technically true, how would they verify the original configuration outside of a self incriminating statement from the owner? The Tics its not kept over 48 hrs so outside of the original 4473 there is no way to know. Even the 4473 should say "receiver", unless you are wily enough too have them list "pistol" every time you buy a receiver. Just curious, as if that is the case it is much like the whole 922r nonsense.

Haha! 9-9 days and the babies not sleeping wears me down. that and on my phone its hard to read! How that for excuses?

Maybe this will clarify a little more.

Maybe I misunderstood the question, but a stripped lower is not registered per say as either a pistol or rifle. So its determination is in assembly. The SBR info indicates that guns are determined in the NFA by assembly and not registration. Registration just clarifies illegal assembly defense. While not NFA per say when he switched from rifle to pistol that is the section that would then apply. It its late and I might be missing something, but that's how it seems to read to me.
-
No I used it correctly. Maybe I should have said "back to pistol from rifle". Those do address you're question. You can go back and fourth as long as the constructive intent (determined by parts on hand) is not present. The FAQ does approach it from the NFA stand point, but the substance is the same. It doesn't make much sense, but then again it is NFA.
-
For your reading pleasure. No a pistol can be a pistol again once it is configured as a pistol and the parts are not retained by the holder per ATF. Not only that it can be sold and transfered as long as the parts to make an NFA item are not retianed. "Once a rifle always a rifle" does not appear to be accurate. http://www.atf.gov/f...er-nfa-transfer

It's been awhile, but at one time Ratworx was handling MSAR's warranty work after MSAR went away initially.

Has anybody SBR'd a Yugo M85/M92 PAP?

You can also just file down the rear trunnion or get a new rear trunnion. The slant is only about 1/16th, so it's not that difficult. Then you can drill and tap it for an ace adapter or stock. -
The few reports I've read about some older AUG's was that it blew out the mag. In those cases there was no reciever rupture only the magwell below the gun. The AUG/MSAR carrier is fairly substantial for containing a kaboom and directing it down through the mag well.
-
Glock .40's kaboom issues are from reloaders and Glock's not having a fully supported chamber. It's not a problem with other models or guns in general. As far as the MSAR/AUG, this isn't a new platform. It's been around and used in different militaries since 1977. Kabooms are not an issue nor is safety to the shooter.

How offensive that you would deride this wonderful women of integrity and honor. She was just struggling to make it through the difficult world of education.

I had several MSAR's and really liked them. I never had any issues with the 3 I had (two E4's and one Gen 3 STG). Fantastic platform and I like several of their features over the AUG. Ratworx is planning on supplying the parts one would need if the need arose. That being said, I'd probably go with the AUG high price and all. As far as shooting they are fantastic. Very easy to handle with the weight being centered in the cradle of your arm instead of out front, quick barrel change, ambi, and just all round compact. The 20" I had felt more like a submachine gun than a rifle but shot like a rifle. Really neat feeling. The Neu-Trigger is a fantastic cheap trigger fix or you can get one of the Hybrid trigger packs from Ratworx that uses AR parts to make it more tunable and serviceable. I'd also look at getting one of the hybrid bolts from Ratworx as well. Again uses AR parts for better serviceability.

Background checks are run in conjunction with a firearm only so running it on both people would be problematic. Add to it the extra $10 and the fact that the FFL has to account for all the 4473's with individual transaction numbers it's not really doable.
-
Mike, you finally made an AK in an AR platform. Love it! I'm seriously considering getting a barrel for my upper or a dedicated upper for my AR.
-
That was the impression I got. I just thought the details of the gun and shooting were interesting. The PD were very professional and didn't relay anything about the people involved, mostly just gun talk.
-
Only if your mousegun has a 16" barrel and a stock.

Ended up going through Ashland City and stopped by the PD. They couldn't have been nicer. $5 a set.We talked a lot about guns. They even told me about a Ruger LCP that was used to kill a guy. Evidently the victim shoot his attacker with it then the attacker wrestled the LCP away and shot the victim three times killing him. Interesting. At least I thought so.<img src='http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

The criteria for a straw purchase is rather vague and interpretive. The liability and responsibility is all put on the FFL. There is no requirement to report an attempt. You can gift a gun our give it to anyone legal to own a firearm, but the wording of the laws seem to indicate you can't knowingly buy a firearm for the sole purpose of someone else, thus question 1 on the 4473. Most FFL's aren't going to give the benefit of the doubt when it gets too gray because they don't want to jeopardize the license. There is a lot of interpretation and judgment put on the FFL. Sometimes it is obvious and sometimes it is every shade in between. Ahhhhh, gun laws! So full of I ambiguity and contradictions. Kinda like tax code.<img src='http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Costa Catalyst Extended Mag Release for M&P Handguns
Smith replied to TGO David's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Why not just move the mag release to the opposite side and use you're trigger finger to release the mag instead of your thumb? Don't have to change grip that way. Kinda like the lever principe that Walther and h&k use. -
Tenifer, as Glock calls it, or Melonite as everybody else in they industry calls it (correctly btw) is a metal treatment that is colorless. The color or "finish" that is applied on top of the Melonite is the part you see and it can be anything from paint to epoxy. That being said, Rhino Lining would be the closest match.

I have but I'm only getting the Draco SBR'ed. I won't be getting anything else, at least I have no intentions. If I were doing more or getting something I wanted to make sure got passed down, like full auto, I definitely would go the trust route. For just one, I don't see the advantage financially.

My wife tried to get in the Madison Library and the line was around the building an no parking left. They told her Goodlettsville City hall was better. She picked me up and we were done in fairly short order. All my kids( except the 2 yr old) 4 years ago. Took my 2 yr old with me this time. Let her hit the final submit button.

Who does this in Nashville/Madison/Goodlettsville? I've called all the UPS stores and they all said no, called all the Kinko's - no. So where is the best place to get this done?
