1. I know they make the 6.5 in brass, are these going to be brass or steel.
  2. [sup]Question is, what bullet diameter will they use. Makes sense since they are already making 6.5 Grendel. ownder why they never got into 6.8?[/sup]

If you use Windex make sure its the ammonia formula. Its the ammonia that neutralizes the salts. A lot of the newer stuff doesn't have the ammonia. Windex is also just a stop gap. You will still need to wash with warm soapy water and lube well when you get a chance.
  4. As a general rule of principle I won't do a BOS. It is always a good idea to let people know up front that is your requirement. Many don't enjoy that sprung on them after the fact. ooh, and NO private individual is getting a copy of my DL. You want to act like a business and keep personal info, get an ffl and comply correctly with the BATF's rules. I'm more concerned about privacy issues. IMO, I can't see how a BOS does anything more for you legally than a verbal declaration.
No, but certainly makes sense as far as resold guns. Hell, I'd be surprised if it wasn't 75% or more. But obviously, no accurate stats can exist for private sales. I still think we'll see the end to all private sales ere long, and maybe before BHO leaves office. - OS
Unfortunately, I think you are right.
  7.
Not sure I agree with you there Smiffy. They don't need them for recoil reduction, but they can sure help hold the gun still for followup shots. I have two carbines that are virtually identical, except one has an A2 flash hider, and one has BattleComp. Real significant difference on followup shots. I also have a brake on my .458. It simply reduces bruising
Haha, on a semi? Either way, I was being tongue in cheek. I still think one of the best out there is the YHM 5c2. Can't beat it for the money. I did use DPMS Levang Comps on my MSARs due to the noise. Worked really well. It did make the rcoil pusle a little different. More straight line, basically the same thing as the Kies, and "Flaming Pig" As to the SBR Draco, here is what I am using and it does a good job. Very loud, but that is part of it's appeal. I was also looking for something that was as short as possible as to not negate the whole SBR thing. 8. Aesthetics they all claim to do different things. AR's don't need brakes and some reduce flash and can be useful, but mainly people pay $50 to $100+ because it looks cool.
  9.
Not real sure what your agenda would be. But since you're intimated something that I had no intention to do, that will prod me to mention that one reason my credence level is low on this matter with you is because in the same previous thread about this you claimed that you knew for sure that WalMart Winchester White Box was made in China. Which of course is patently and laughably false, unless you'd also like to claim that Winchester is blatantly flaunting US import embargoes. That may or may not be true. No source from Marlin has ever confirmed it, and even the most exalted gurus on MarlinForums.com don't seem to know. Certainly you have been able to buy a W model from any number of retailers for many years. It and the A denote birch instead of walnut stock (the A also had a cap instead of barrel band) Even if it was a WalMart only rifle at it's release, that is simply a distributor's exclusive. It wasn't pretending to be a 336c. Ruger distributes a "Wally Special" 10/22 also, and it's actually a quite sought after model, being the only source for it. But it's not pretending to be any other model either. And of course in both cases, the specs for fit of standard modifications are the same as the rest of their same model variations. - OS
I made claims only what was told to me by people much higher in the industry than I and said as much. I have knowledge only what I was told in person. I've been wrong before and I've been right. This won't be the last for either. As in depth as your Jedi google foo may be, I'd rather trust industry people who make their living dedicated to that field and are privy to information beyond your or my forum memberships. Again that does not make for fact but does give credence to the question. I have never claimed inferoirity or superiority of the product and have no agenda other than to contribute to yet another unsolvable internet conjecture.
  10.
Ah, Smith. Didn't know that was you. You've told this before, and the claim stands unique on whole web, not any other report I can find of that. Not one. Perhaps you had a stock that was out of spec, rather than the shotgun? - OS
Uh, another guy said he was told the same thing by some manufactures. I know your sole source is the internet, but I was told that directly from Remington. Now they could have given bad information but it is what it us. I was also told by the former #3 at Ruger that they didn't make "Walmart specific" guns but did make Walmart speced guns from time to time. The 10/22's were not different. It is also true that Talo does this all the time and Ruger makes distributor exclusives as a rule. Distributors also make special request on a regular basis for specifically speced guns. Your telling me that Walmart in their heyday, which sourced more guns than any distributor, couldn't or didn't spec their own guns? Even when that was their and is their mo on everything else they stock on their shelves? And since your getting real close to calling me an agenda liar, I've worked at Walmart and the gun industry. I don't care if they do or not. I'm a big Walmart fan and am glad to see them back in the market. BTW - you do know that the Marlin 336"w" standards for Walmart? Its was sourced for Walmart as a more affordable option and then they kept it in their catalog.
  11. Call Troy at InRange. He usually answers the phone and will give you an honest opinion. He also responds very quickly to PM'S on theakforum.com. He has a vendor section there. Troy is as good as they come in the AK world.
  12.
Without an exact description of the same model rifle that was changed to suit WalMart, I still call urban legend. It would actually cost manufacturer more in time and disruption of process line to make a "cheaper" one. - OS
Remington told me directly that they did in the past make guns specific for Walmart and that in in one particular case aftermarket stocks world not fit. We had an 870 that an aftermarket stock didn't fit. The gun came from Walmart. That being said, I doubt since they revamped their gun sales that applies anymore. I thing they area using normal supply chains since fewer sites are carrying guns now.Back when they first started selling guns they had basically the same guns at every store. It would be no different than the Talo guns that are made different in specific runs. Talo specs a gun and they run them in specific numbered runs. If Talo does it on a regular basis, why wouldn't Walmart?
  13. I love the tfo's. I've heard of light puppies coming loser but I've never had that experience writhe several sets. I like them more for the FO aspect than the tritium. I also prefer the yellow and green combo. Really makes the front sight pop.

You know if Jovan wasn't heterosexual, none of this would have happened either. If he hadn't played pro football, it wouldn't have happened. If he hadn't lived in KC, it wouldn't have happened... The logic some of these guys use and then try to sound deep and profound is amazing.
  15. Uh, isn't that the purpose of a cosigner?
  16. Kinda my point. Its really a non issue. Its actually fairly hard not to be compliant on an AK. Something folks get worked up about that is pretty much irrelevant. Don't think I've ever had an AK that didn't meet 922r.
  17.
Do what you want but I spoke to two seperate agents and got the same exact answer. You are more than welcome to call for yourself, (304) 616-4500. Just tell the secretary you need clarification on a law. I promise they will not come kick your door in and shoot your dog. I talk to them at least once a month for clarifications. Dolomite

Not arguing the opinion, but i still hold that on an individual level its irrelevant. Its as if they passed a law that everyone had to dream in red. If it can't be enforced and can't be applied then it doesn't exist, but that's gun laws for you.>_>
19. It is an Ace. The Dracos have a solid rear trunnion that you just drill and tap in place of an internal adapter. Depending on what gun you have there will be different options. That bring said, I world be careful having an internal adapter threaded and a stock laying around until after you have your paperwork. I was using a Stormworkz adapter plate that uses the same Ace hole pattern but mounts as a sling adapter plate. I figured that way I could already have it threaded and ready to go without having any legal issues while I waited for the paperwork. http://www.stormwerkz.com/Description_Pages/AK_SP-AK-01_Views.html
  20. As long as you don't put a stock or vfg, you can do whatever you want. All the things you mentioned are CA laws. Hi caps, FH, and everything else is good here. Here is my Draco pistol. Minus the stock it is a pistol.
  21. If it's like most, that knurled retainer will need to be loosened and then the rail spins off the barrel nut adapter.
That was the author's opinion as the artist has not stated a position as you quoted. It's nice to see you choose the quote, out of context, you like in order to draw the conclusion you're predispossed to have while useing that to claim bigotry of those you wish to impune. Got to love the bigoted mindset. They see themselves in eveyone else. Regardless of what the artist was intending, it was in bad taste for both sides. You don't make people think by attacking them. It's like a dog in a corner, they just blindly fight back and reinforce their postition.
  24. I also am not a .40 fan. Fine round and has a place but it is a compromise. It does some of what a 9mm does but not the best parts. Some of what the .45 does but not the best parts. All that and it comes at the cost of less rounds, more cost, more recoil, and less inherent accuracy of the 9mm. If I want small and fast - 9mm. If I want heavy and limited capacity - .45 That being said I think the G19 is about as perfect a sized gun there is. It's compact enough to carry easy, yet large enough to shoot like a full size and in a 9mm you are still getting 15 rnds. Just my .02
  25. I'm inspired. I'm now looking for scaprs of sheet metal!
