  1. I said chew, I don't know for sure about burn. From what I've read they have a steel jacket instead of a copper jacket and that is much harder on the barrel. Also while they will only "light" after leaving the barrel they are burning through the first layer and that leaves extra residue in the barrel and gas system. Phosphorous and magnesium burn extremely hot and that is what makes these things light up.   Not saying don't get them, just be aware that there are virtually no places that will let you shoot them and if you are on private property you better have a way of putting out fires. I don't think they will damage your gun per-se but they definitely aren't a good for it.
  2. Those are tracers and will chew your barrel up. One bullet per mag not such a big deal but be careful. Can't shoot them indoors and they will set fires if you aren't very careful outdoors.
  3. Have you been there? It's like Buds without the internet. I don't know what it is about KY; Whittakers, Buds, Centerfire, ....
  4. I'd have to disagree. Ruger is number one in handguns and they have virtually no le/mil presence. Actually there are quite a few of the top handgun manufacturers that have hardly any le/mil presence like kel-tec. Manufactures want le/mil contacts for marketing on the civilian level. What they do like about le/mil contacts is the guaranteed product numbers that allow them to produce in volume which helps their civilian numbers.
  5. It evidently doesn't take into account genocide or war. I would be curious to see exactly how they define murder. Some of those with low numbers are in active genocide and war areas. Somethings off.
  6. I should add that considering the area about the only places you could actually foot patrol are at the local football games. This is the kind of town where if you DON"T have a gun in the gun rack of your truck they will question your Americaness. Of course you're girlfriend/wife needs to be sitting in the middle of the bench seat next to you as well.   Man I miss that area! Great people and a great place to live. There is no story here. Paragould is about the last place on earth that needs help from the commies. Great place!   I will add that there is a pretty serious meth problem in that area, but that is mostly the hillbillies. Ironically the older folks tend to be the addicts as opposed to the kids.
  7. Paragould is just north of Jonesboro , AR and I can't imagine a crime wave up there that necessitates this. It is very rural and crime up there is not like in a city. I spent 8 years over there and have a lot of friends in that area and I never heard of anything about this. I even have people I know at Westview Baptist Church. I'm thinking it was an idea among many that is the proverbial mountain out of a mole hill. There isn't a lot of news coming out of Paragould, AR. I'm thinking this was about as exciting as it gets. ;)
  8. I though it telling when Delahey's first question/statement after LaPierre spoke was that there was no law (at the moment) against "straw purchasers" and that that is how criminals are getting 40% of their guns. The "top" cop he spoke to agreed. Maybe that is why the Obama administration didn't see anything wrong with "Fast and Furious." ;)
  9. Ah, I see that. I thought I had seen some couplers like that.
  10. That's how their mag couplers work.
  11. Mike, just to poke at you a bit, but define "pervert". Pretty sure being homosexual DOES default one to that status. Of course this also applies to many other things as well.
  12. Ahhhhh, yes. The only opposition has to be homophobia. What ever that asinine retort means. There is a reason they divided boy scouts and girl scouts to begin with. I want my boys to learn how to be men from men who identify with the manhood and I want my girls to learn womanhood from women who identify as women. Same reason I don't particularly want a woman boy scout leader or a male girl scout leader. If you take the irrational "homophobia" denouncement accusation away, does having gay leaders logically make sense? Just asking.
  13. Keep in mind that until the treaty is ratified it is considered to be in effect if it its signed by the president or other official. Kinda like when the Kyoto treaty was signed by Clinton. The us abided by the mandates until it was finalized. Technically Obama could sign on and it world be enforced until comes rejected it. It could actually never be ratified and thus be in effect, while waiting. Kinda like a recess appointment.
  14. Not surprised he couldn't pray in "Jesus name" as instructed in the Bible. :shake:
  15. Isn't that counter productive to the very idea of individual liberty and freedom? I can join as long as I limit myself and and agree to rules that restrict my personal and family development and potential.   Freedom is about opportunity. If you limit opportunity you limit freedom.
  16. Dave the term "assault rifle" had a singular military definition before the original "assault weapon ban" campaign started. It was a designed and purposed tactic to redefine things the left didn't like or were targeting with terms of negative connotation. It want just guns either. Remember how all those evil "suv's" were running over people all the time during the 90's? How the term "big oil" and "big tobacco" became the boogey men of the last 2 decades. Eric Holder made it perfectly clear that their tactic was and has been to change the culture around the 2nd amendment. This is the very thing Obama means when he talks of fundamentally changing the fabric of America. To dismiss it as inconsequential or small is to be naive. This is why republicans become rhinos in Washington. Once the discussion is defined by the other side it can only be a win win for them.
  17. Trigger linkage and the housing are set up for the unconverted Saiga. I have a feeling if he ever tried to make it for a converted Saiga we wouldn't see it for 4 more years! :squint:
  18.   That would kinda be a great selling point! ;)   However, I unfortunately agree with the rest. I hope the Heller decisions and the SC rulings hold up on the ammo speculation but who knows right now. I do foresee AK stuff getting expensive and scarce for a few years. People don't realize but the Russians only make guns/ammo AFTER they get all the money up front and no importer here in the US wants to tie up millions they know they won't get back if the POTUS decides to ban imports, which he is likely to do. AR's I can see being dirt cheap by late spring and AK's being the premium weapon. Odd how things may completely flip upside down.
  19. It wasn't threaded. I cut the shroud with a dremel and then threaded it. If you cut it flush with the sight tower Dinzag makes brakes that are bored back so that it will fit and look normal covering the extra .5" of barrel. It's a lot easier than replacing the FS.
  20. D&T just got the SR22 with the threaded barrel installed. Pretty nice guns IMO.
  21. Good trade IMO. AK's are going to be very hard to get over the next 4 years and I think prices are going to be going up. I think AR's are going to be dirt cheap by the end of spring and will be much easier to replace.    Obama can very easily stop imports of weapons and weapon components, not so much with domestically produced AR's.
  22. Well except for the ex-military guys, I'm about as fringe and extremist as they come according to the Obama administration. I lead a "fringe" religious group and advocate God, family, guns, truth, pro-life, and conservatism. I even listen to Limbaugh when possible.  Of course that used to be known as an American. The times they are a changin.;)
  23. I like how they have the massive slide show of the other shootings directly underneath the article and have it titled "Shootings in America". :shake:
  24. funny how six weeks is long now. 5 yrs ago when i got mine, four months was quick. :-) Unfortunately, you applied during the holidays. It'll take a little longer than usual.
