Dave the term "assault rifle" had a singular military definition before the original "assault weapon ban" campaign started. It was a designed and purposed tactic to redefine things the left didn't like or were targeting with terms of negative connotation. It want just guns either. Remember how all those evil "suv's" were running over people all the time during the 90's? How the term "big oil" and "big tobacco" became the boogey men of the last 2 decades. Eric Holder made it perfectly clear that their tactic was and has been to change the culture around the 2nd amendment. This is the very thing Obama means when he talks of fundamentally changing the fabric of America. To dismiss it as inconsequential or small is to be naive. This is why republicans become rhinos in Washington. Once the discussion is defined by the other side it can only be a win win for them.

Trigger linkage and the housing are set up for the unconverted Saiga. I have a feeling if he ever tried to make it for a converted Saiga we wouldn't see it for 4 more years! :squint:

  That would kinda be a great selling point! ;)   However, I unfortunately agree with the rest. I hope the Heller decisions and the SC rulings hold up on the ammo speculation but who knows right now. I do foresee AK stuff getting expensive and scarce for a few years. People don't realize but the Russians only make guns/ammo AFTER they get all the money up front and no importer here in the US wants to tie up millions they know they won't get back if the POTUS decides to ban imports, which he is likely to do. AR's I can see being dirt cheap by late spring and AK's being the premium weapon. Odd how things may completely flip upside down. :down:

It wasn't threaded. I cut the shroud with a dremel and then threaded it. If you cut it flush with the sight tower Dinzag makes brakes that are bored back so that it will fit and look normal covering the extra .5" of barrel. It's a lot easier than replacing the FS.

D&T just got the SR22 with the threaded barrel installed. Pretty nice guns IMO.

Good trade IMO. AK's are going to be very hard to get over the next 4 years and I think prices are going to be going up. I think AR's are going to be dirt cheap by the end of spring and will be much easier to replace.    Obama can very easily stop imports of weapons and weapon components, not so much with domestically produced AR's.

Well except for the ex-military guys, I'm about as fringe and extremist as they come according to the Obama administration. I lead a "fringe" religious group and advocate God, family, guns, truth, pro-life, and conservatism. I even listen to Limbaugh when possible. :eek:  Of course that used to be known as an American. The times they are a changin.;)

I like how they have the massive slide show of the other shootings directly underneath the article and have it titled "Shootings in America". :shake:

I agree but becoming more socialist in nature to win a few socialist or allowing them to dictate the arena is exactly the problem we have on capitol hill with the rhinos. Hasn't worked yet.

Why let them dictate the discourse? The other side will character assassinate whether we "give" them something or not. They will just make it up. This kinda of stuff is the reason we tend to loose. We allow them to dictate the rules for our side and then enforce them on ourselves while they back, excuse, explain, defend, and spin with impunity. Ex. Reid, Pelosi, Obama, Biden, and Barney Phrank to name a few.

You might want to get a benefactor status before you try to make an ad like this and if you are trying to sell Uncle Sam's mags ... that's illegal and not welcome here.

I'll be the odd ball and say a mini uzi. Just something I like about those. That or an MP5.

In a completely neutral scenario I don't have a problem with the idea. However, in the context of the current situation it is a bad idea. The anti's will use this as a stepping stone and that is the real danger in it.

Just curious what the membership numbers look like since the maddness started. I'm seeing post from people I've never seen before and the classifieds looks like a giant gun flea market with low post count members wearing it out. Been kinda interesting to see the influx of people who obviously don't post on much on forums. ;-)

Like I said pointless. Brian did a good job doing what he said he would do. I did like his part about the history and decribing the gun especially the "AR" definition.
