  1. M&P Spot hands down as long as it's under 1k. Melonite treatment, lifetime warranty, ..... the list goes on but it is far better than the others. The Carbon15 and the ATI I wouldn't buy unless they were under $600.
  2. Talk to the ATF guy in your area. They will tell you what they want you to do to comply with regulations, zoning, etc. and since they are the ones that will be enforcing those regulations you can't get a better source of info.
  3. Anyone have a sight pusher for an M&P I can borrow or rent? I would tap them but I'm putting a Hi-Viz FO front sight in and there isn't a lot to tap without breaking the lite pipe or mount. BTW - I'm in Nashville
  4. Haha Chad! (I was formerly known as AK Guy) I can help with stuff already riverted but welding and riverting I don't get into. Would like to but haven;t invested in the tools. I don't know anyone in Nashville that can build an AK (buisness wise). Troy Sellers at In Range C2 is not too far away, is reasonable, and does excellent work. http://www.inrangec2.com/
  5. With a t1 you can get a lower 1/3 co-witness with the tws. ;) i added an adm qd to my sparc so i can get it of pretty easily. As far as accuracy, the shorter barrel actually stiffens up more than a longer barrel so accuracy is better at all ranges for me. At 50 to 75yrds i can easily run through clay pigeons with decent speed. I'm not a great shoot so this was a very pleasant surprise for me. I'll add that what makes the TWS so great is that it fixes two of three biggest flaws of the AK compared to other rifles. 1- sight radius and 2- cheek weld. I've tried all the other options and i can't reiterate how much better i like these.
  6. Also check out In Range C2 In Kodak, TN. Troy does awesome work and is reasonably priced. http://www.inrangec2.com/
  7. That and screw builds look awful and your guns value goes to next to nothing. :o There are several places that sell adapters for bolt cutters that allow you to rivet pretty easily. There are also jigs you can buy.
  8. I REALLY like the TWS Dogleg. I've run them on several different guns and helped other guys put them on theirs and they all love them. Plus with the peep sight you get a longer sight radius than an AR and a proper ckeek weld. The Top cover is removable and repeats zero. Not a fan of the Parabellum mount. heard bad things on those. The only other viable option is the ultimak. The Ultimak is the lowest out there but it puts all the eight out front. People who have them love them. http://texasweaponsystems.com/ Here's my Draco with the TWS and a Vortex Sparc (similar to the T1)
  9. You can if you have the longer trigger linkage and trigger. The trigger pins will be a little bit of a pain to figure out but not really a big deal. If you need a trigger or linkage i have several takeouts laying around.
  10. I said chew, I don't know for sure about burn. From what I've read they have a steel jacket instead of a copper jacket and that is much harder on the barrel. Also while they will only "light" after leaving the barrel they are burning through the first layer and that leaves extra residue in the barrel and gas system. Phosphorous and magnesium burn extremely hot and that is what makes these things light up.   Not saying don't get them, just be aware that there are virtually no places that will let you shoot them and if you are on private property you better have a way of putting out fires. I don't think they will damage your gun per-se but they definitely aren't a good for it.
  11. Those are tracers and will chew your barrel up. One bullet per mag not such a big deal but be careful. Can't shoot them indoors and they will set fires if you aren't very careful outdoors.
  12. Have you been there? It's like Buds without the internet. I don't know what it is about KY; Whittakers, Buds, Centerfire, ....
  13. I'd have to disagree. Ruger is number one in handguns and they have virtually no le/mil presence. Actually there are quite a few of the top handgun manufacturers that have hardly any le/mil presence like kel-tec. Manufactures want le/mil contacts for marketing on the civilian level. What they do like about le/mil contacts is the guaranteed product numbers that allow them to produce in volume which helps their civilian numbers.
  14. It evidently doesn't take into account genocide or war. I would be curious to see exactly how they define murder. Some of those with low numbers are in active genocide and war areas. Somethings off.
  15. I should add that considering the area about the only places you could actually foot patrol are at the local football games. This is the kind of town where if you DON"T have a gun in the gun rack of your truck they will question your Americaness. Of course you're girlfriend/wife needs to be sitting in the middle of the bench seat next to you as well.   Man I miss that area! Great people and a great place to live. There is no story here. Paragould is about the last place on earth that needs help from the commies. Great place!   I will add that there is a pretty serious meth problem in that area, but that is mostly the hillbillies. Ironically the older folks tend to be the addicts as opposed to the kids.
  16. Paragould is just north of Jonesboro , AR and I can't imagine a crime wave up there that necessitates this. It is very rural and crime up there is not like in a city. I spent 8 years over there and have a lot of friends in that area and I never heard of anything about this. I even have people I know at Westview Baptist Church. I'm thinking it was an idea among many that is the proverbial mountain out of a mole hill. There isn't a lot of news coming out of Paragould, AR. I'm thinking this was about as exciting as it gets. ;)
  17. I though it telling when Delahey's first question/statement after LaPierre spoke was that there was no law (at the moment) against "straw purchasers" and that that is how criminals are getting 40% of their guns. The "top" cop he spoke to agreed. Maybe that is why the Obama administration didn't see anything wrong with "Fast and Furious." ;)
  18. Ah, I see that. I thought I had seen some couplers like that.
  19. That's how their mag couplers work.
  20. Mike, just to poke at you a bit, but define "pervert". Pretty sure being homosexual DOES default one to that status. Of course this also applies to many other things as well.
  21. Ahhhhh, yes. The only opposition has to be homophobia. What ever that asinine retort means. There is a reason they divided boy scouts and girl scouts to begin with. I want my boys to learn how to be men from men who identify with the manhood and I want my girls to learn womanhood from women who identify as women. Same reason I don't particularly want a woman boy scout leader or a male girl scout leader. If you take the irrational "homophobia" denouncement accusation away, does having gay leaders logically make sense? Just asking.
  22. Keep in mind that until the treaty is ratified it is considered to be in effect if it its signed by the president or other official. Kinda like when the Kyoto treaty was signed by Clinton. The us abided by the mandates until it was finalized. Technically Obama could sign on and it world be enforced until comes rejected it. It could actually never be ratified and thus be in effect, while waiting. Kinda like a recess appointment.
  23. Not surprised he couldn't pray in "Jesus name" as instructed in the Bible. :shake:
  24. Isn't that counter productive to the very idea of individual liberty and freedom? I can join as long as I limit myself and and agree to rules that restrict my personal and family development and potential.   Freedom is about opportunity. If you limit opportunity you limit freedom.
