  1. It doesn't get much more practical than a Draco or M92. You don't loose any thing balistically, you gain a bit of accuracy, and you gain a lot on portability. Basically it's a 30-30 or a better version of the 300 blackout. ;-) Essentially there is one pistol on the market the M92. They other one is the Draco but they dried up and are harder to find these days. You can get one of the Arsenals but you pay for the pretty. Put a stock on it and its about as good as it gets in the AK world. I've had a bunch of AK's and the SBR'd pistols are by far my favorites.
  2. There's nothing to the mag disconnect. Just push the pin out of the trigger and your done. It will make the trigger noticeably better. To do a full on trigger job you will need a hi power specific gunsmith. You have to change the sear pin location and if you don't know what you're doing it's a ruined gun.
  3. Search here. Several recent threads. It is an 870 copy with a better steel machined receiver, heavier barrel, and all metal parts. Everything on an 870 is interchangeable with the IAC and takes all the 870 accessories. IAC and Remington are owned by the same parent company so technically it's not a "clone"? It is the perfect gun for what you are looking for.
  4. I'm just glad there's no bigotry about perceived bigotry about Vanderbilt's bigotry. :shake:
  5. Just came across this. Now it isn't "real world" shooting but gives a pretty good idea of the differences. http://www.luckygunner.com/labs/brass-vs-steel-cased-ammo/#/
  6. I got one of these recently and really like it. It's not 350 lumen's but it is tactical light bright. One AA battery and it is small enough to put on a key chain or easily carry in a pocket. I was surprised how small it was. http://dx.com/p/uniquefire-g10-cree-xp-e-r5-1-mode-350-lumen-white-led-flashlight-with-strap-1-14500-1-aa-55244
  7.   "Coating buildup" is another internet myth. There have been a few reports of cases that get stuck in the chamber. The cause for that is not the coatings. It is because the steel being a bit harder than brass doesn't always expand as well. If you have a chamber that has a slight imperfection combined with the steel expansion, it can leave a gap where carbon leaks back though in the chamber and the subsequent cases gets flash "welded"  into the carbon buildup in the chamber.   I believe these reports to be wildly exaggerated and overly repeated as most internet myths seem to be. The only guns that seem to have consistent issues are DPMS. I attribute that to quality control of DPMS more than Wolf.     As to wear, if a soft steel case wears your chamber then you need a better gun. The bi-metal bullet I can see wearing the barrel more, but again we are talking about taking the life expectancy from 50,000 rnds to 45,000 IMO.  ;)   I've shot Wolf Classic/Poly/Military almost exclusively in over 10 AR's and dozens of AK's and I've never had a problem. Everything from a Del-Ton to a POF.   It's dirtier but as others have said, no more than WWB or Blazer.
  8. Mainly you can't look at them with an American-centric interpretation. The scriptures were written to interpreted with a Israeli-centric viewpoint. It's pretty well established that the raiders from the "north" is probably a reference to a Russian alliance coming through the Baltic and the "millions from the east" as China. The whole Turkish model is a pretty substantiated theory as it has ties to Islam and "Catholicism/Christianity" through the Romans, Constantinople, The Ottomans's, and Constantine.
  9. Metallurgical they are better than the Remington's according to the test I've read on some shotgun forums.. The receiver is milled from a solid piece of steel that is higher quality than the Remington's (China doesn't have any pesky EPA laws;)). IAC and Remington are owned by the same parent company so they share designs and the IAC/H&R are nearly identical to the 870. The H&R Pardner Pump has a slightly different receiver profile with the little hump in the back but the IAC is identical to the 870. The internals and trigger guards are all steel unlike some of the 870 models. They will take all 870 accessories and parts except for 870 barrels and some fore-ends. You can get an 870 barrel work but you will have to file a bit on the lug of the 870 barrel to get it to fit the IAC/H&R receiver. They are heavier guns than the 870 but in shotgun that's not a terrible thing. I will be getting another one shortly as I really like them. I am planning on getting one of the Bullpup Unlimited stocks for one. :)
  10. A lot of new shooters tend to get 9's, the military is using a lot of 9 (wars and conflicts), and people don't shoot .40 in the same quanities as the other calibers.  Keep in mind that nearly as many PD deparments use 9mm as they do .40 so that isn't so much a consideration. We also sold a lot of 9mm M&P's in the middle east and we are sending ammo to them as well.   Supply and demand. That being said the 9mm I've seen has been lower price (as usual) than the .40. Just like always.
  11. Yes, it mounts to a rail.   As to the OP the AFG doesn't really do anything for the AK. Use a stubby grip or even the Magpul forward grip. They are short enough not to have problems.
  12. Eh... what's the story here?   Dave, you need to add a tin-foil smiley.
  13. It's a metric M6x100. As far as length you don't need a long one, 1 in. usually works for those.
  14. Thanks to McALLYN it took all of 5 minutes. Made it a breeze and I didn't break my lite pipe! Thanks Bill!
  15. Glad that opinion is rooted in fact ...oops. The facts disagree with you. I will say the problem wag not so much the teachers or principal in this case but the stupid policy that bound them. The principal told us it wasn't a big deal, but that it was the policy so they had to deal with it in this manner. For the most part the teachers and principals aren't the problem, its the school boards and politicians that make asinine policies from their ivory towers. Biggest problem i see is the schools no longer prepare kids for the workforce our how to think. The "well rounded" education philosophy is a liberal philosophy of exposure that came out of the 70's. It abandoned a "solid core" philosophy where specific "advanced" courses were left for college level. The data, facts, testing, and current work force says it had been a miserable failure.
  16. Yep. Outside a couple of these aggravating instances they go to a real good public Montessori school. It only goes through the 4th grade and then they are home. Just got our oldest squared away for home school.
  17. Sad thing is he's now afraid to draw his super hero pictures because he thinks he'll get suspended. One of his other friends got sent to the office for pretending he had a light saber. He said, "Dad, its just silly. Don't they know that boys like to pretend they have swords and guns. Girls don't like them but we do." Trying to fundamentally change our boys to girls and our rights to wrongs.
  18. Evidently my 2nd grade son had to sit in the principals office this morning for making "terrorist threats". His threat? Evidently, he told one of his friends that when he gets his own gun he wanted them to go shooting together. However, the report simply states he was sent to the office for making "terrorist threats". So now he will forever have a record that he threatened someone. Really getting to the end of my rope. I signed the note and the started my objection of 1-convicting my son of criminal activity without a mention of his objection or clarification and 2-vilifying my son for something that in our family is normal and a family topic and activity. I also added several statements about first and second amendment rights the constitution and the role of teachers, police, and parents. I wasn't happy! :-P
  19. I think we're missing something?
  20. Keep in mind the tax season got pushed back a month so we haven't seen the refund checks start hitting. I think we will have another little build before it settles for the long haul. This is just the lull before the 2nd storm. Of course there isn't much out there but it will drag it out a bit longer.
  21. Wait till they get their way with the death panels. It won't just be the unwanted babies it'll be the unwanted sick, elderly, and handicapped. Ah, perfection! :shake:
  22. The Krebs is nice but sits considerably higher and cost a lot. The Parabellum tends to have zero issues if you put an optic larger than the Vortex/T1. Anything else that looks similar isn't in the same ballpark when it comes to repeatable zero, proper check weld, and ease of fields stripping.
