  1. Nope. The 10 cent stamp is for the TWRA tax that is in addition to sales tax. When your order online or out of state you are supposed to fill out the proper tax form and send in the correct amount of local and state sales tax to revenue office. That is the law. ;-)
  2. I'll try to get some more.
  3. He hasn't yet, but he has a couple slides he's about to start on.
  4. I'm not huge into engraving, mainly because I don't have any heirloom quality firearms, but seeing how my dad is getting back into his engraving hobby I thought I'd let him do some work on my Rossi 92 .38/.357. My dad has always been a craftsman and has done custom and commissioned pieces (mainly knives) in the past. After getting out of it for quite a few years I gotta say I'm impressed that he could pick it right back up. Pictures don't capture the finer details and make it look kinda flat, but let me just say it is VERY nice work. Enjoy.
  5. I bet you send in your "Use Tax" as well?
  6. Oh come on! You were supposed to wait till I got to play with it! Hope you enjoy it Charles.
  7. Looks like a lighter version of the CorBon DPX. Personally I'd take the DPX for the higher mass in the same form factor. Not sure that the 600 fps difference at the muzzle would make that much difference in a handgun.
  8. I've seen some of the RMJ's and they are phenomenal! That being said I really like the CS Vietnam (Lagana) or better yet the American Tactical Lagana.
  9. You got shot by "Powder"? Haha!
  10. If I'm in a movie .... head shot at 50 yrds as I dive through the air while yelling CONTACT! In reality, anywhere that I can and it stops the threat.
  11. Feinstein even said so.
  12. Thankfully the Russians have never been known for industrial efficiency.
  13. Keep in mind Brick and mortar stores have to shop around just like the consumer and tun into the same dilemma's and issues the consumer does except they also have the added burden of trying to keep the consumer happy with supply AND cost on the backside of buying. Sometimes prices reflect that same difficulty you find on the retail level that they find on the distributor level. Local stores aren't usually dealing in high volume so prices reflect that. However, local stores do provide you with the convenience of handling guns, helping with warranty and minor gunsmithing issues, and answering MANY questions just to have a gun transfered in so the consumer can save TN sales tax.   Are some places taking advantage of an temporary artificial supply/demand issue ... absolutely, but the free market has a way of dealing with them when the "real" market returns. There will be a needed thinning of the gun store world when this settles by late summer. Those who were fair and worked hard to keep the supply and cost normalized will survive. Those who made a quick buck will be looking at other ways to generate money.
  14. It's like children playing.
  15. Looks good. I have used the MFT hand guards and they are very nice for the money. Don't have heat shields, but you can get those pretty cheap at K-Var.
  16. Treaties "technically" mean nothing until they signed by the President, make it through congress, and are ratified. It also has to get through the UN. It won't get through congress and it sure won't get ratified as it is unconstitutional on many fronts.   That being said treaties do carry an assumption of compliance until they are ratified. In other words, the ATF and other participating countries would apply the measures until a final disposition is made. Essentially nothing would be imported or exported till this thing is cleared up.
  17. While I agree the SG doesn't have the best conflict resolution, I find it interesting that many of the comments are directed negatively at him. At least he's taking a stand and doing something. I doubt many of us would even take that job, much less actually confront these animals.   IMO this is a great example of what is wrong with society. The guy trying to do something is the villain for how he does it and the degenerates are excused and dismissed. Kinda like gun owners in general and especially in cases of self defense shootings.
  18. You know if more people in our communities enforced societal standards of decency there would be a lot less of this non sense. Police and the government are the worst at accountability.  That's why an armed society IS a polite society.
  19. Some of the MAK90's actually have a rivet that sticks down from the inside of the receiver into the mag catch area and causes the issue. On most of them, simply file off the rivet end above the mag catch and you are done. Sometimes they will just break off if you punch them. You shouldn't need a bullet guide or filing on the mag catch. Very easy.
  20. I have a NiB bolt carrier group coming. I hope. Ordered two weeks ago. I'll let everyone know when I know something.
  21. Don't get excited. It just means they may get the other "clip" bans and private sales through easier. ;)
  22. Spent a month there living in huts with Kenyans and yes .... they are smelly. Kinda like camp fire, mixed with dirty animals, mixed with dirt, with a sprinkle of body odor. ;) Thing is you don't realize how bad YOU smell till you get home and unpack your bag!
  23. Hebrews actually had pretty good hygiene. That being said there is a reason middle easterners like "perfumes". Perfumes in ancient times was worth it's weight in gold and in some cases more.
  24. Obama did say if he had a son he'd look like Trayvon. ;)
