You can't argue relativism using absolutes. Your understanding and interpretation of scriptures go hand in hand with this issue. Scripture means what the writer intended it to mean not what you or I interpret to mean in our current culture or context. Right and wrong also can not be interpreted by current context or "feeling". In the same way that the Constitution holds value because it is unchanging in core principal and belief regardless of how folks of the past or present try to apply it, morality is not an ever vacillating sea. The changes we see are a result of our growing in understanding of the truth of the core principal. Not an expansion of some kind of "new truth". "Grey" areas are were we find this growth. However, when we change black and white to mean red and green then all foundation is lost and we have anarchy - where one is left to their own devices - ala Sodom and Gomorrah. That is the fundamental principal in the story of Lot. He choose to come back to absolute truth and was saved. The cities had completely given themselves over to moral relativism and perished. This is why it matters to some including myself. When I see something clearly I am forced to reckon with it. I am not perfect and as Robert has stated I can be hypocritical, however my flaws and shortcomings do not shape or change the absolutes of morality.

I had been looking for one of the Blackhawk Axiom 10/22 stocks for quite a while. Evidently Blackhawk just got them in and now every dealer has them. I was looking for something with an adjustable stock for my kids and I liked the looks of the Axiom better than any of the others I had seen. It is lighter than the factory stock, the fit is excellent, and the buttstock and PG are close enough to my AR it's pretty easy for the kids to transition between the two. It would look better with a bull barrel but for now I really like it.

Yep. As has been said the sexuality issue is a non issue and always has been. Leadership is what they are really pushing for in the long term. Liberal fanatics will eat the elephant one bite at a time. Just like they try to do with gun restrictions.

Yeah, sounds good on a billboard but they aren't allowing me to live my life the way I see fit and even here some are demanding that I and others change our beliefs to accommodate, approve, and condone their lives. So, just let them live their lives the way they want. I'm the one who has to change? No one was stopping them from having Gay Scouts. They demanded the BSA change to accommodate them. This is the whole issue IMO. Live and let live is fine, but you can't be selective and arbitrary based on personal opinion when conflict arises. This is the problem with Libertarianism when conflict arises. It's either subjective/relative judgment or anarchy.

Suarez is really pushing the Sig for what that's worth. If you want AK performance in a non AK platform and you want to pay a lot more for it (ala the Sig), get an AR in .300 Blackout. You will get more bang for the same bucks. The Sig is trying to make a Sports car out of a 4x4 truck. Neat idea but a waste of money at the end of the day. Just get an AK and spend the saved cash on LOTS of ammo, mags, and accessories. Sig fixed their issues, but I still don't see an advantage.

Yeah, adding a pistol grip to the Mossy's is problematic but with a standard stock I prefer the tang safety and slide lock of the Mossy. You don't have to move your hand to work either, unlike the 870/Pardner. Never had an issue putting stocks on the Pardners myself so that's new one to me. The Knoxx Spec-Ops stocks fit fine on the Pardners and the IAC's in my experience. I put them on 3 of them using the supplied bolts. The Pardners will take some 870 barrels. Pardner barrels fit the 870 but 870's barrels will only fit an extended mag tube Pardner. The barrel bracket on the 870 is a bit farther out than the Pardner's. I can say that 870 bolts, carriers, action bars, side saddles, forearms, triggers, and mag followers are interchangeable with the Pardner.
-
I like the Pardner better. It is an 870 clone with a better heavier receiver and beefier parts. The Maverick's are fine guns, but are a cheaper versions of the budget 500. They also loose the benefit of the Mossberg over the 870's in that they use a cross bolt safety instead of the tang safety. If you like the Mossberg, bump up and get a 500. If not the Pardner is an excellent option. I've had several and really like them.

Personally, I like the Blackhawk Knoxx Spec-Ops stocks. Recoil reducing, adjustable, and the G2 grips have interchangeable grip panels.

Really? The God you pledged oaths to is irrelevant to how you conduct your life? Not sure participation is relevant to this discussion any more than being white is relevant to my opinion on Obama, but to ease your mind - Yes, I was a scout in my younger years, and have two young sons that have asked about becoming scouts. Do I qualify to participate? :)
-
Really, that's how you read those? What God/god or basis of belief are you using to reconcile those oaths with your position? BTW - I believe in God the way he tells me to in the Bible, not in a subjective however I choose to interpret His Word within my context or culture.

Inconsistency in application of truth does not negate all truth Robert. Attacking Christians for inconsistency in morals is a red herring and you know it. The fact that some struggle in application of truth and morals in "grey" areas does not mean they have no voice when there are clear violations of their morals or beliefs in other areas. Has anyone read the BSA Scout Oath? Scout Law? Venturing Oath or Venturing Law? Pretty sure you know those Robert and have agreed to dedicate your life to those principals, beliefs, and ideas. Who's inconsistent? Yes, they will have to be amended. ;) So, when I say they will have to fundamentally change their position and beliefs ...I am correct. Scout Oath "On my honor, I will do my best, to do my duty, to God and my country, to obey the Scout Law, to help other people at all times, and to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight." Scout Law "A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent." The Venturing Oath As a Venturer, I promise to do my duty to God and help strengthen America, to help others, and to seek truth, fairness, and adventure in our world. The Venturing Code As a Venturer, I believe that America's strength lies in our trust in God and in the courage, strength, and traditions of our people

Obama maybe the most successful President EVER
Smith replied to JG55's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
You can only "game a system" when there is a game to play. The scenario's you describe are solely provided by the governments involvement. If those perameters were not there then their would be no "system to game". That is the problem with medicine and the the reason it will collapse. -
All people are welcome in the church but not all are welcome to join. Joining means you agree with and adhere to certain principles and moral stadards, otherwise you simply have a social group that has no point. Church is not about being perfect. It is however, about working towards that objective. While homosexuals are free to worship and attend anywhere they may choose, they are not free to change fundamental beliefs or principals. It would be like a Muslim attending a Southern Baptist Church and then demanding they change their beliefs because they are offensive to him. Can't happen? It already is. This whole thing about gays in the Boy Scouts has nothing to do with the boys who are members who may or may not be gay. IIRC sexuality is not a part of the BSA curriculum. It has to do with mandating that the organization allow leadership that contradicts its own principals and beliefs in order to fundamentally change core beliefs. If there is that much demand for gay scouts then by all means start a gay scout group but quite trying to mandate that the BSA equivocate for a few.

I filed a dispute. Sorry again for linking this guy.

Leviticus law plays out the differences between murder, killing, and manslaughter plainly with punishments that reflect the distinct differences. The Hebrews had no problem understanding the issues. In other words Original Intent. The scriptures mean what they were meant to mean in the context of their time and the principle is timeless. The same as the Constitution. If you try to redefine the original intent within the context of the time you live and neglect the "bigger" principle you loose all authority, legitimacy, and truth. Old Testament Law shows us our flaws and inadequacy as humans and the New Testament's Grace shows us God's forgiveness despite our failures as mankind. They are not mutually exclusive but rather the fullness of the Gospel. It is only in the attempted redefinition within ones own relativity or intentions that they seem confused.

Wow! This thread stil going? This is why I like the AK Pistol ...changing the barrel doesn't matter. ;) In all seriousness good work OS. If the Monarch is using the same powder as the x39 rounds the Russians use, then it is a fast burning powder. Thus the reason the barrel length doesn't matter all that much. I don't reload so I don't know if that is possible or likely but seems plausible.

As a fellow M&P9 fan, I'm pretty sure you got every accessory that I like on those guns. :) The TFO's are awesome. Enjoy.

That is almost verbatim Axelrod's talking points www.jammiewf.com/2013/axelrod-obamas-couldnt-have-possibly-known-about-his-irs-scandal-because-the-government-is-too-big/

Good quality Jack booted response. Cops always say "How Am I supposed to know if he's a criminal?". The answer is easy. When he commits a crime, arrest him. your philosophy is why don't we just stop him and find out if he is committing a crime? Why don't we just pull over everybody in a vehicle on the street to find out if they are driving with a suspended license? Because they were responding to a call. They didn't initiate this only responded to one citizens complaint against another. As to why they didn't just observe and leave is because the leo would be assuming liability at that point on a personal level as well as for the city. Sued if they do sued if they don't, but if I'm the le I'm not hoping to allow anything I do to be pinned to me personally. I'll follow the book and let the city work it out. Stop the law suits and this wouldn't be such an issue. BTW - your not supposed to be able to sue for non damages, but I guess strict adherence to the law only works one way.

To each his own I guess. Not my flavor.

Come on guys. If they had just walked up on him and the following ensued, sure he has a case. They were called there by a report of a MWG and are compelled to clear the situation before they leave. Mr. Call's ire should be directed at the caller not the police. Let's say they responded to the call by stating there is no law against OC and never investigated and it turns out Mr. Call had nefarious plan? I have a feeling at lot of the same voices here would be decrying the ineptitude of the PD and calling for resignations and disciplinary action. PD was in a no win with this guy and did what they should have and what was necessary given the circumstances. Mr. Call could have mitigated the circumstances and been on his way.

That sign only applies to people bringing in guns for work, trade, etc. It is not intended for HCP carriers. There are several discussions on this topic already. The store I work in has no problem with carrying, but we do ask that If you are going to unholster (checking holsters etc.) That you clear it outside before you bring it in. You wouldn't believe how many people have pulled out loaded guns and then asked if we had a holster to fit it. Almost daily. You'd also be surprised how many guns I've cleared with rounds in the chamber and mags that were "not loaded". All guns are always loaded.;)
