  1. This. Been watching this for the last couple of years so far.
  2. This. The Magpul hadguards (or any drop in) need to be retained by the gas block. You could do what you want with a free float handguard.
  3. From the ATF agents we talk to regularly.
  4. We were talking about NICS/TICS. That info is destroyed by law within 48 hrs. What i stated above was in regards to that info. If they want the info on a 4473 they have to request it in light of an investigation or they are turned over as in the situation you posted above.
  5. I did mean NICS/TICS. However, "Approved" 4473's must be kept indefinitely. "Denied" can be destroyed after 20 years.
  6. Reno was actually keeping the info and Ashcroft filed a lawsuit to get the records destroyed per current law back in the day, so it is entirely plausible. I don't have a problem with 4473's. If the government actually comes in and take the time to go through each and everyone of those from every dealer, it would take them many years just to process them. You're talking about 3 million a year just in TN spread across no telling how many dealers.   BTW - NICS/TICS by law have to be destroyed within 48 hrs.
  7. Have we noticed that nearly every time one of these professional athletes or celebs gets in trouble the story usually starts with something along the lines of "following an altercation at a night club..."?
  8. I was ecstatic, then devastated, then humored, then sad again.
  9. Haha, two of the sources were from Cheaper than Dirt!
  10. It's fished pretty heavily but it's stocked so there should be plenty of fish. You may just have to deal with a lot of other anglers and floaters/canoers. Most folks go up there thinking it is a fly fishing dream and then find the fish are pretty lazy and prefer to wait for corn to float to them. ;) Corn and a hook will get one after the other in most cases.    All in all I REALLY miss that area. It's beautiful country.
  11. Nice try. The ruling on DOMA was not made using law or the constitution, which by the way is the only authority the SCOTUS has. They went outside that boundary and negated the constitutional principles and guidelines in which they are sworn to uphold and abide by.   The SCOTUS is not the final arbiter of law. They are simply one of the 3 "EQUAL" branches of government.
  12.   and here lies the problem .... :shake:       Evidently, In this case the SCOTUS.
  13.     Uh, the Constitution. ;) Didn't last long.
  14. You mean go back to a time when we had a code of absolute moral ethics that established this country that gave us life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?. The same ones we are currently dismantling that you applaud.? Talking about a circular feel good statement. ;)   You do realize that this ruling is establishing for the first time in the history of government or the history of man where same sex relationships were deemed "marriage". This is a brand new baby. Just saying.
  15. I find it telling that the quotes from the Majority are feeling and "I think/feel" statements, where the minority are statements based on law and precedent. Interesting. :shake:
  16. Like it says I have some 6.5 Grendel Brass once fired that someone can have if they need it. About 40 cases and I believe all of it is Hornady. PM if interested.
  17. This. OS knows his UPS stuff ;) I've shipped more than a few long guns this way and never had an issue. Handguns are different but long guns are much easier.

    Do You Think So?

What the heck is meant by this? Stated in the negative.      I figured this would happen by the end of the summer. However, it means that while black guns will be dirt cheap there will be an increased demand for parts, accessories and ammo. So I don't see prices in those areas going down.
  19. Fine. It's best to turn the gas system off or remove the op rod. Other than that works just fine.
  20. What Pole said. I thought about a dedicated but then it kind of defeats the purpose of using your "real" AR with cheaper practice ammo. I've used the regular CMMG conversions in everything from a POF to a Del-Ton and never had any issues. Only problems I've ever had are with lead nosed ammo. The soft lead can get jammed every now and then. I've never had issue with jacketed ammo.
  21. I have one. Pm with your details and I'll get it to you.
  22. Thanks for restating my point Hersh. The reason people get upset about government employee compensation is because that compensation is made off my back, taken from my families pocket, and given to someone else. Why should my family get less from the same amount of work, so that a government employee, simply doing his job, can have more.
  23. The pay rate they agreed to when they voluntarily accepted the job. :shake: You expect to get paid MORE for doing the basic requirements of your job? Bonuses are for when you go above and beyond the base requirements and PRODUCE more income than was expected. It's the employers way of saying thank you for doing MORE than your job and expanding the business. Pretty sure none of that applies to the IRS. The idea that you should be rewarded above you agreed upon compensation for meeting the minimal requirements of the job is exactly why government employees are not taken seriously.
