Found the one! Garrett Industries holsters
Smith replied to Smith's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Being that it attaches very similar to the Raven, it rides similar. I will say the angle of the attachments makes it a lot less rough in the belt and rides smoother if that makes since. The Raven style puts a lot of stress on the belt as it comes through the slots. The Garrett is angled to fit better in this regard. Best I can do on how it rides. I like it about 3 but can conceal it better in a 5 position. -
Looks good. As a note on your other pistol, that Rossi grip is my favorite revolver grip of all time. Wish they made it aftermarket and to fit other guns.

It's a Walther PPQ with H&K price!
How so? Both are mostly kydex. What makes the Garrett so much better? I've never seen one up close so I honestly don't know. I just don't see how a leather lining equals higher quality.I did peruse their site and saw a single clip option which is my preference, so maybe I'll give one a try if I can ever find the CZ 2075 I want and need a holster for it.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 2
Features, quality, and design: Kydex quality, Kydex thickness, fit/finish, tension adjustment, attachment points, adjustable cant, closeness of the carry, .... No offense to the PJ it has a place, but it's like saying a Honda accord is the same as a Ferrari because they both are partially made from aluminum. -
No they are being made at Walther's Umarex plant in Germany. Most of their traditional stuff is made at the Ulm factory in Germany. The only US thing Walther makes its actually made by Smith & Wesson, the PPK.

The only similarity is that they have kydex. Single point holsters for a full size gun is awful for me. Cant or no cant they will roll and tend to drag my pants down since all that weight is in one spot. That is why The Raven style using wings is so awesome. Distributing the weight carries the gun a lot lighter and it lets the belt do what it's supposed to do without having to cinch it down a size too small. The leather lining doesn't add any bulk. In fact it is just as thin as the Raven style holsters I've had and they are as thin as it gets. Garrett did a good job on this one. -
sorry to burst your bubbles, but its a walther branded umarex turd...
If that's the case then all Smyrna, GA marked Glocks are Glock branded GA turds. Just sayin ;) I've heard that knock but it doesn't hold water since there aren't any to evaluate yet and the reviews by people who have actually tested them, says different.

I looked at the original STX due to its smaller profile but after talking to them the 2.0 holds 1/4 in closer to the body and has the tension adjustment. I didn't even think about that feature till you mentioned it. I'm glad I went with the 2.0 -
I had one, unfortunately my experience wasn't as good. Very good quality holster. My problem, which I believe is because the leather never got broken in, was while drawing it would pull my pants up entirely before the gun would come unholstered. That's even with a VERY snug gun belt. Maybe if I had patience to allow it time, I just couldn't
This one has tension adjustment, so I don't have that problem. I could see that being an issue without that feature. -
Neat design. I haven't seen one before.
I hadn't either, that's why I was a bit hesitant. Be honest I had an order in for a Zero Concealment (raven style) and wouldn't have ordered the Garrett had it not been for the discount. I will now without a problem. I was more than pleasantly surprised with the quality, turn around time, and their customer service is excellent. They also sell all their extra parts, clips, and anything else you need on their site. -
It has always been the law that you owe the sales tax on any internet sale. You are supposed to fill out the tax form and send in the correct sales tax voluntarily. No, dealers do not collect the sales tax unless they are pocketing it for themselves.

Yep, :-) best of all worlds. Thought it would be to thick but it isn't at all. No clicking and clanking when the gun is going in or coming out and it protects the finish a better. -
So as many of you know you usually end up with a drawer full of holsters before you find the one that works, but I got it on the first try this time. It is a Garrett Industries "Silent Thunder STX 2.0" http://www.giholsters.com/silent-thunder-stx-2-0/ I was a little hesitant because I hadn't heard of this company and they are a bit pricey, but after getting it all I can say is WOW! This thing is awesome. Adjustable cant, high quality leather lined kydex, adjustable tension, and it is the most comfortable closest riding holster I've ever had! I had been a big believer in the Raven style and thought those were it, but this one puts them to shame. These will be my go to holster from now on. BTW - I did get the memorial day sale at 25% off and turn around was a week. Here is the PPQ in its new rig.

Well according to the Walther forum, they been advertising these for awhile and no one has one yet, so they haven't hit the shores yet.
-
Mikey, I'm with you on this one. Gotta have it! Now if they will just ever become available.
Cool! What's the capacity and barrel length currently?
18.5" barrel and holds 6. I'm going to get the Choate +1 extension for the 870. It fits flush with the end of the barrel.

Bersaguy they will call you names no matter what you say or do. You assume they are fighting fair. Bush is a great example. No matter how he tried to honor the office of president by not getting into the fight, he ostensibly let all those who supported his position take the hits for him. It's a noble thought but the reality of the fight is far different. They way you win these arguments is changing the false promise that they try to use. As long as we let them set the stage and fight by their rules we will struggle. You can be tactful about it but you have to change the premise and Joe was trying to do that. This is also how we get Rhino's. They let the dems set the premise and then they try to work within that framework. That's why most of them sound like democrats and there ones that reject it are labeled extremist.

I saw some dude open carrying today.

Well, evidently after the Heller decision the USPS declared themselves a "sensitive area" as mentioned that ruling and changed their "laws". So my statement above is overturned at the moment. -

I'll have to find it but the only part posted in most post offices is the separated counter area and it is usually posted at that point and not on the main doors. You can carry in the po box area and parking lot as the only part of the property considered federal property is the counter area. Reason being almost all post offices are privately owned property that is leased to the feds. The parking lot issues mentioned above is where that was clarified. That being said I'll have to find it. -
Bersaguy, this is why they get by with exploitation, that we end up fighting from a losing position. We find fault with our side and give all kinds of sympathy to them. Joe's responding to those particular parents using their children's deaths as a political platform. Making a statement is one thing, organizing a speech with organized media attendance in a rally format is not grieving. It's an organized political event and as such sympathy is irrelevant because the grief us irrelevant.
AR. Seriously. I've been thinking about it, as I have everything listed... Marlin 1894, S & W 19 4", and M&Ps in 9 and 40 in all sizes. If I have to grab one gun and go, it's an AR. I have more mags and ammo for them than anything else. Distance, capacity, adequate power for most needs, and firing rate. I'll probably be dead before I ran out of ammo in a Red Dawn scenario... just sayin '.
Yep, cause someone with an AK will have put you down already and then taken your stuff :-)

Very good take on liberals and their view of people like myself. Nothing is new evidently.

Nothing new fellas' It's old and libs try to label anything they can't fight on ideas. Check out John Wayne's take on it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btvSE6tVHzQ

Got another inexpensive Hawk 982 and decided to play with it ;). Painted it with Dupli-color "Cast Iron" hi-temp engine enamel. I've used HVT on a lot of AK's to good effect. Not used this stuff before but I did bake it as well, so we'll see how it holds up. Changed the sights screws to stainless, Hogue 12" LOP stock, shell holder, and stainless mag follower. May add a Choate mag tube extension, but all in all I'm still under $300 dollars for a good shotgun.

I LOVE my Rossi m92. I like that you can load down the .38 for small game or really load up the .357 and in a 18" rifle you've pretty much got a 30-30. Which is plenty good for anything in North America at proper range. I also really like the 9mm for availability being that it's a military load and more widely available than anything else ATM. I have a .38 revolver but would really like to get one of the Blackhawk convertibles and have it all.
