I've played with that one and the RRA are nice. One thing I did find out about the 308 AR platform, is that there are a lot of proprietary parts that aren't cross compatible. I believe, RRA are all propriety parts, even the barrel nut is unique to the RRA.

So many if you know I'm dedicated to the AK and have little care for AR's, but I was wanting a 308 platform and nothing in the AK world got me too excited. Came across an Aero M5 receiver set and so started assembling an AR in 308. Since its not really an AR, I could justify it. [emoji6] Anyway here it is. Ambush Tactical fluted barrel 16", Larue grip, knock off brake, Ergo F93 stock, PSA BCG. Still waiting on a proper length gas tube and the UTG rail is quite impressive. I know the UTG name doesn't instill confidence, but options are slim on the 308 and this thing is fantastic. Especially for the price.

I just put one of their 308 barrels and gas blocks on a build and it looks like good stuff. I talked to them over the phone about a few questions I had and they were very helpful. Primary Arms is also carrying their stuff and they usually stand behind what they sell.

If you get that problem out of other mags, the cheapest way to fix it is a new mag catch. Then you can fit it right. You may just have a mag catch that is worn down too much or on the short side. Tapco lugs tend to be thick.

I've wanted one of these for a long time. Just can't justify the money since I'm not actually hacking cars or people in the sands of the middle east.

Yeah, it's kinda normal. If you look inside, the release has to slide past the tension of the blade, so there will be some "grit" before it releases. Should smooth out with some play. Also, on mine I rotated the release button till I found a smoother engagement spot and it made it better. Just take the tension off a bit and you can spin the release button.

I've been carrying it today and it is fantastic. Lightweight for being such a large knife. I tend to carry on my left side (I'm right handed) and would prefer the clip to be on the other side but then that would cover the logo. Makes it kinda awkward to pull it out and then turn it around to get to the button. If you carry it on the right side and are right handed it should be fine. It would be pretty cool to have some extra panels to change the look and protect the TGO panels.

My mags worked after I filed the rear tab profile down a bit to fit the mag catch better. The underside of the tab was just too thick. Luckily there was a lot of material there too work with.

You didn't read my post in context. Life is hard and taking the easy way out is not always what is best for those around us. Often times it is in the struggles we go through that not only shape us but those around us. This argument is not a new one. By your logic the Germans and the eugenist were right and many of the people of the world should have been eradicated for their own benefit. The struggles of the poor could be cured by encouraging them to end their suffering. The struggle this women and whatever she encounters, is so far less that what many children in third world countries live with every day. Do we encourage them to take their lives because it's just too hard? What about all the teenagers struggling to deal with life as all teenagers do. Do we lift this banner up and say suffering is too much. It is better to not live with suffering than to see what the future holds? Now, her situation is a bit different in details but it is the same principle and what I addressed in my first post. Again, I have no problem with her decision. I have a problem with the celebration of a cowardly selfish choice and then publicising it to find acceptance for what she knows to be such. If it were not selfish then she would have asked her family what they wanted and let them make a decision without her input. She made a decision for herself and there is little that can change that reality. Just because both choices are difficult doesn't make them courageous. The decision for a soldier to flee in battle is a difficult one, but I won't celebrate him just because it was a hard decision to abandon his fellow soldiers.

This is one of those pictures don't do it justice. It truly is a very, very nice knife.
-
Picked this up today and wow! Is it twice as much as the most expensive knife I've ever bought? Yep. Is it awesome? Yep. Would I do it again? Absolutely! Everything it was promised to be plus some. Thanks Willis68!

Keep in mind Ruger oversold the last few years. They blew past their sales goal by a large margin and their sales goals were the loftiest they had ever attempted. Probably just a statistical leveling out.

Cherish life. Protect life. Fight for life. Celebrating weakness and even calling it courage, I believe is the result of a society who has their priorities out of order. I understand the girls decision and don't have much issue with it. I have an issue with the celebration and "courage" publicity this women has generated to celebrate what leans to the coward and selfish side of life.

I believe only one of the contractors were using Hungarian parts kits. The others were Bulgarian.
-
After a little looking, it appears that it is indeed a Arsenal Bulgarian kit built here in the states around 2001 by one of four different contractors. Appear to be very high quality build and somewhat rare.
-
It's an Arsenal and considered one of the higher level builds. Usually, they went for over 1k new, so it isn't your cheap run of the mill made by a 12 year old AK. You have a good one. Bulgarian AK's are some of the finest available
-
Yes .... yes they do!
-
Love them. Used them all the time as they make for a very useful and yet minimal way to carry, store, and transport a shotgun. Much prefer them over a normal gun case. Plus you can attach them to a backpack or just about anything else for transportation.

Problem is that's a Red Herring argument to the nth degree. Rape and incest account for less than .05 of 1% of all abortions in the US. Statistically, it doesn't exist. I understand the consideration, but it really doesn't play into the argument. The real argumenet is if we as a nation are comfortable with legally killing millions of children simply because they are an inconvenient consequence of peoples poor choices.

My understanding is that it is very hard to get a mechanism with that action that can handle normal knife stress. So, the $250 range is considered the affordable range for an OTF. Get lower and you can pick those up in the novelty shops in Gatlinburg pretty cheap :).Seems to be all or nothing for OTF knives from what I've seen.

Anderson AR lower, what to do next time
Smith replied to rugerla1's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
They aren't our of spec per say. Anderson uses a special anti friction coating and it is a bit thicker than standard anodizing. You may even find that the upper is rather fitting especially the rear tab. Once you wear down the coating in those areas it'll fit more like normal. Kinda like it starting tight as posed to loose. -
A non-vote is tabulated by the counter as a no vote. It is not registered as a "non-vote". Thus a non vote is automatically a no vote. He wasn't making a subjective equivalence statement. It was an objective statement of procedure.
-
They can be tight because the finish Anderson uses is a bit thicker than anodizing alone. It will loosen up a bit as it wears.

Which do you prefer 9mm or 38 special for SD?
Smith replied to RAJBCPA's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I guess I should have added that while I am a 9mm guy, I carry a .38 snub revolver. Ideal is a 9mm revolver![emoji6]
