  1. Really subjective question, but I have an XD9 Service (full size carry) and a Kel-Tec PF9 (deep concealment). i guess it really depends on what exactly you want out of your gun.
  2. why can't they issue or make something like the Zems for our troops. I use them all the time and they work great. I can hear regular conversation and they still buffer dangerous noise. http://www.sensgard.com/web/2005/10/products.aspx

Actually nickel plated for $25. It has gone up $5, but still a good deal. http://www.gunsmith.fuselier.com/slideoffer.html
  4. Just curious, as I'm not military or LEO, how do our troops not loose their hearing in all those CQC situations and still maintain com? Surely they use some hearing protection, but I can't find any pictures or info on it. Just curious since I remember when i first went shooting on my own and fired off about 300 rnds without protection and my ears rang for days.
  5. Guns and Leather will do you right. They have some DPMS AR's that can be had even cheaper (in the $650 range, last I remember). Good place to start.
  6. Use it all the time in my AR and not had a problem yet. I also use it in my AK with no problems (of course!) As said before the blue box is Barnaul (Cheaper, good stuff) the Green Box is Yugoslavian stuff and a little more expensive. In my experience it is not anymore dirtier than WWB.

Have one and love it. Had a P11 and the trigger was just ....bad. The trigger on the PF9 is considerably better. Long, but smooth and crisp. It conceals well and will handle +p & +p+ (although not for extensive range use). The newest generation is out now and has all the improvements that were needed on previous models. Got mine plated for $25 by Jack Fuselier, who does it as a favor to Kel-Tec owners. I would add that it is snappier than my XD, but it sits low enough in my hand not to be all that noticable. Nothing like a .40 compared to a 9mm. IMO Compared to a XD9 service.
  8. I started with a Hi-power cocked and locked (removed mag disconnect) and found that it was very easy and natural to deactivate the safety. However, I currently carry a 4" XD and a Kel-Tec PF9. I guess , given a choice, I would say no manual safety.
  9. Although I find all this "call for apology" stuff annoying and irrelevant, I thought this was interesting if nothing else. Finally a Democrat who seems to have some decency:), although I could have done without the tears - which makes the whole thing suspect. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,304304,00.html
  10. As a Pastor I do as well. When we were in Memphis (24 yrs.) there were a rash of break ins at Church's. Some while Church was going on. We had to have a constant patrol during services. There were also a number of minister's attacked while at their offices. The neighborhood my church is in here in Nashville has had two breakins in broad daylight and four murders in the area this year. What good is a shepherd who can't protect his sheep? doesn't make sense to warn of the wolves and not be ready for them.
  11. My favorite i get to shoot a lot.... The ones i like to shoot, but don't get to very often... and the AR
  12. After reading all the e-mails and letters all I can say is......... WOW!
  13. You also forgot the riots in Mexico and South America due to the corn shortage and high prices (due to speculation of ethanol). Maybe Gore got it because if GW is happening then more farming can take place producing more food for the famine ravaged Africa you mentioned as well as lower food prices in general that will result..... No that can't be good, because any warming is bad! Kinda like how bad it was for Europe when the climate was more temperate than it is now (due to the mini "ice age"). European agriculture flourished until it became colder, then people migrated to cities in look for work and plagues and famine broke out. But that would be good, because colder is better!
  14. Now there's a Glock I can get behind! Maybe Glock could just send some of their pistols to Cali to test...a few AD's - problem solved! :stir:
  15. Truly unbelievable story. This is where Rambo came from! Lutrell, even while having legs that were useless, hide in mud and a crevice on a hillside, after all his team had been killed, and continued to snipe Taliban for several days till rescued!
  16. I'm thinking a name change is in order. the Nobel Peace Prize is now - The Liberal Recognition Award, or perhaps the Humanist, Progressive, Self-Propagation Award, or the Old Hippie Award. Is it even relevant anymore.....or was it ever anyway?
  17. for price comparison look here. http://gun-deals.com/ammo.php?caliber=9mm%20%20(9x19) You can't beat Academy prices. CCI Blazer vs Wolf for less. Not much comparison unless you aren't close to Academy.
  18. RangerT 147 in the Kel-Tec PF9 and federal HST 124 +p in the XD service. IMO HST's are the best you can get followed by RangerT. Here is an incredible write up with pictures and charts to back it. http://frag.110mb.com/
  19. In the words of Barney Fife, "this badge represents the law and when I'm wearing it it means I represent the law." Sure they are only a guy with a badge with a gun .........and the full weight of the United States Government.... and Constitution..... State Legislature.... the State..... and the local municipalities, authority representing them.
  20. While I understand and support your initial idea (not in the quote) of compliance and officer safety, please explain what special rights you are referring to? Surely you are not suggesting that the 2nd isn't a valid Constitutional right are you?
  21. Ah, the beauty of ambiguity!
