  1. The guy who started SKYY was from Kel-Tec. He got in trouble posting phony reviews as if he was a customer on Kel-Tec boards. Plus there is a lot of problems reported on the skyy forum about these guns. Maybe that it is just initial production problems, but I've heard the steel is soft. I'd go with the Kel-Tec.
  2. This reminds me of the Dale Earnhardt glock from a while back!
  3. That's the only limit. It may even be possible to make it better - more personalized. I would think.
  4. On xdtalk.com there was a thread that had pictures of the internal work done by springer. You can probably search over there. As far as feel, early reviews were that it was not as great using the parts due to the fact that it was not hand fit. The small differences in tolerances of the guns made them a little different. Still makes it a great trigger though.
  5. Not SA, Springer Precision. It was like $90 if i remember right, but that was when he was modifying the parts. The new system uses the parts you installed.
  6. I did it the old fashioned way and sent into Springer. Had it back in hand one day after shipping! 4lbs. great reset and take-up......You will love it!
  7. Actually it was. I found a FN HP 40 for $439. After all the transfer and such it will be about $480.
  8. Decided to go against the grain and get the .40 S&W Hi-Power. Especially after reading some info from Bill Laughridge at C&S. With the .40 platform I can always switch out barrels and go between .357 SIG, 9mm, or .40 S&W all while maintaining the Hi-Power greatness. Here is what $4000 and C&S can do with a .40 Hi-Power. and the article is here http://www.cylinder-slide.com/loaded.shtml, enjoy!
  9. Can't wait to get one myself. I want one with the rail....just in case I need it. Looks good!
  10. He's got one he's trying to sale!
  11. a long shot, but say it turns up in an unfortunate situation. They start tracing it back. sooner or later it will come to you then you got Feds involved. Unlikely, but not worth my time IMO.
  12. I've got about $500 burning a hole in my pocket and am indecisive. I've got a couple of options and I need you help to decide. Which one should I get. My first handgun was a PJK-9HP (Hi-power clone) that I loved, but I've always wanted a 1911. I'll probably end up with both, but it may take a while. Help! BTW -I understand that I sound like a woman trying to decide between shoes (drives me crazy!), so I apologize in advance? HEHE
  13. You do not want to mess with interstate commerce infractions. Those are federal violations!
  14. It does seem that the 2 digit numbers are short action guns, in whatever config denoted by the rest of the number, and the 3 digit are the long action.
  15. For a bunch of free capitalist (I assume from other tendencies here....) it seems we don't like it very much for gun stores. As a person involved in a growing downtown business, I routinely run off the bums who come through the door wanting a handout (mainly those are homeless panhandlers). I wouldn't blame dealers for doing the same. Give the dealers their due and complain more about the US Gestapo (IRS) :popcorn:who take, illegally I might add, all your money anyway. Then you wouldn't mind paying the minimal fee.
  16. Sounds like typical conservative, right wing voodoo economics talking points right there! How can such poor, underpaid US workers save any income with the price of health care and the national debt! This is just crazy talk!
  17. Very similar, except there isn't a viable government that wants or can take control like in the U.S. Not a statement of right or wrong, just not apples to apples.
  18. I was hoping that thing would get missed until my taxes get done! Oh, well maybe Rabbi can get another. Very nice.
  19. Actually I've been there on some medical mission trips. We based out of Kisumu. Not to say it isn't significant, but 300 is about the whole town. It is literally in the middle of nowhere and there isn't much any outside force can do. They would just flee to the Serengeti or Tanzania. Elections over there are pretty messed up to begin with. Kenya is very nomadic and tribal. They do not understand Nationalism at all. Who ever wins the election is loyal to his tribe and everyone else gets squat .....or genocide. In fact on a trip in 2000, they had just had elections. The former President went into the treasury and printed up about 2 million dollars and paid people to vote for him. He won reelection, but the exchange rate went from 1:7 to 1:210 US. bad for Kenya great for tourist. They just don't understand government. They are basically stone age peoples forced into the 20th century. They are resisting.

When did the glocksters:koolaid: start getting here?
  21. Only problem with that is that starting in 2008 there will not be anymore over-the-air programming. It will all have to go through one of the major suppliers. Ain't it great!
  22. I just submitted my app and forms. my question is what can I expect and is there anything I need to do in the meantime - other than get in shape? I'm really excited about the whole thing except for one thing - I'll have to carry a *lock!
  23. If they got service through a third party vendor then they probably got a bad receiver, that would be install. It happens, though Dish usually get's you a new one within a day or two. Something isn't right with your parents setup. hope they get it resolved.
  24. There were some JAG rulings on this not too long ago and the military was adamant about not allowing our guys to use HP. It has nothing to do with humane treatment, rather a desire to inflict more damage with a single bullet. A .223 may pass through and hit one or two more combatants thus increasing the effectiveness of the shot. And as stated before you occupy at least 3 guys with a wounded soldier and only one with a dead one, the dead one.
  25. Basically if it is chrome lined - shoot it a lot!. If it's unlined, you may want to do the three shots - clean and repeat a few times to smooth out any rough areas.
