  1. I have a K&D Dakota Defender for my XD (nice! loooong wait) as well as a C-TAC (had to break out the Dremel to get it comfortable), XD gear (never use) and a Don Hume JIT for the occasional OWB. For the recently purchased Hi-Power, I am temporarily using a Galco Yaqui. I have a Rafters Elephant skin/Alligator band OWB on order. Similar to this with a darker alligator band. My K&D Dakota Defender
  2. Pretty much any of the Saiga's are going to be fine.
  3. On some of the cheaper builds, they don't take time to make the front sight pin grooves exactly level. When you a look down the barrel the front sight post will look like it's leaning, usually to the left (from the reciever end).
  4. WASR's are a crap shot on quality. A lot of canted sight issues, soft recievers, ect. Most quality issues have to do with who built them. Other than that, the Saiga is top of the line in quality. It is a true Russian AK, by far the best of the breed.
  5. I have a ctac for my xd and it works great. I'd still go with the Minatour for comfort. If you notice, even the Crossbreads have a leather backing as propriatory now. So that must mean something.
  6. I'm looking at those screw post and thinking, "Ouch". If it is a daily or long term carry rig, I'm poning up the extra $20. Or you could get a Dakota Defender from K&D leather for $10 bucks less and have a truly comfortable, handmade rig. Here's mine
  7. This won't answer your question but here my thoughts: 1. Kel-Tec - because if it's not right, you can send it back as many times as it takes to get it right...but trigger pull leaves a lot to be desired. However they are incredibly easy to workon and won't necessarily void the warranty. 2. Taurus becasue the trigger is much better than the KT and looks better, IMO, but if it's not right, it's a crap shoot with customer service and if it breaks - well??????
  8. Rabbi has one and can get other variants in a couple of days. In addition to barrel lengths, there are also caliber choices. .308, 7.62x39, .223, 410, 12g( very rare), 20g. Guns and leather also has them from time to time.
  9. Won't cost you much. You can get one of the professionals to do it and run you about $350ish + parts or you can to it yourself for about $100 - $250. Depending on how much you do. Here is a great write up with illustrations. http://www.cross-conn.com/Saiga_Conversion/index.htm
  10. Did the same thing myself, although I did let Red Stick thread the barrel and give her a good Gunkote. They are nice! I really need to update - I've since added an ace Folding skeleton stock with internal block and Galil style hand guards.
  11. If only that were true! I'm not the best joke teller. I find I get more laughs when I'm not trying !

    1,000 Yard Range

Curious? What are you shooting at 1000 yrds? .50 BMG or what?
  13. WOW! I don't even know where to start on this one! 1st - Hello pot, this is the kettle.... 2nd - I've always said, "some people know just enough Bible to be dangerous." Proved yet again. Thanks triggertime! 3rd - what an asinine assessment of his post and intentions. Maybe you need to re/read his initial statement. 4th - Why would you try to instigate something like this! I'm calling the troll patrol on this one!
  14. He is a self-indulged, egotistical, politician, who couldn't put on his underwear by himself without assistance from all his analyst. As much as I think Giuliani is a moderate liberal, he is miles away from Bloomberg. As mayor's go, not much of a contest. Yeah, I don't think I would vote for him.
  15. This sounds like an iffy case to get behind for me. I think Mr. Olofson was operating marginally, if not worse, and this is probably a good case. This is not to say the BATF did not embellish for posterior sake. There is nothing wrong with the selling and making of firearms as an individual, but they seem to imply as if it were.
  16. I had a FEG PJK-9HP a while back, that shot great. It was my first gun and I regretted letting it go. Then when I saw this great deal, I couldn't pass it up. I'm already :D:D:D! That's the great thing about guns. Unlike women, if you make a mistake and let a good one go to get a "better" one (which you find out was a big mistake), you can always get the good one back. Without strings or baggage attached, I might add!
  17. Sorry bout that, it is a FN Hi-Power in .40 S&W. I edited it to correct the oversight, thanks.
  18. Just picked up this FN Hi-Power .40 S&W from the Rabi Monday. Only charged me $20 for the transfer (hi-way robbery!).:stir: Haven't got to shoot it yet, but I can't wait. Already removed the mag disconnect, added C&S Cocobolo grips, cleaned it, and greased it. It's ready to go with 11 rounds of .40 S&W Win Ranger's. I even ordered a EFK 9mm conversion barrel for it. There is even a .357 SIG barrel for it I may get down the road. Fit and finish are excellent and , of course, it has the classic Hi-Power feel. I forgot how much I love the feel of steel!

    Welcome form Nashville!
  20. Congrats!......Now what guns are for sale?
  21. Leave it to Rabbi to make silk out of a sows ear!
  22. Thompson, Romney (not a chance), and Huckabee.
  23. Huh? You better get some more pics (of the gun!) up there as well as specs!

It definitely is the complete, quintessential gun store/range.
  25. Here's a Navy study on the matter http://www-nehc.med.navy.mil/downloads/ih/tm6290.99-10Rev1.pdf . Haven't fully read it yet, but it seems like a good source.
