  1. You know, the sad thing is that it is a whole lot better than it has been in a loooooong time. When we moved there 24 yrs ago, it was awful - especially downtown. Now it is at least tolerable and there is no longer a guarantee you car will get vandalized while you're on Beale St. Of course they are raping and pillaging the suburbs to finance it......
  2. I understand the sarcasm, but Rabbi is right. The right exist without necessity. Even if there were zero crime, there is no argument against 2A. To even allow the premise of a right validated only in need is errant to say the least. One way to win debates with anti's is to not let them dictate the premise.
  3. Seems like all you're categories, it is mainly the Elite winning. I say stay with that one. Plus, while the Elite may bring more money, the CW is in a better market price wise. It will be easier to sell. Not sure if that matters, though.
  4. Same bullet but different brass. 6.8 was designed for the AR platform. And no they can't be fired from the same gun. Currently, outside of AR makers, Ruger makes a 6.8 Ranch Rifle and you can get barrels chambered in 6.8 but will cost you.
  5. You can get a Savage for about half that.

    Polymer STI?

Here is some info from what I can find. Any first hand experience? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grandpower_K100 http://www.ipsc.org.au/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3704&sid=2292781f17df791f6ef640c80c9f640a http://michaelbane.blogspot.com/2008/01/service-pistol-sweepstakes-gets.html

    Polymer STI?

Just curious if anyone has seen or handled one of the STI GP6. Price is decent if it is as good as STI's 1911's. What do you guys think? Here is the link to info on them: http://www.stiguns.com/guns/GP6/GP6.html and here's a pic:
  8. Don't know about ET, but my brother hunts them that way in Northern MS. They use dogs and a 3 or 4 man team.
  9. Of you're choices - XD by far. If you want another option, try a FN Hi-Power .40 S&W. Accuracy, price, what a 1911 wants to be! CDNN has them pretty cheap. I've got one and it is an unbelievably good shooting gun. Here's a picture of mine.
  10. In bolt action, Savage .270. You get an excellent out of the box trigger, superb accuracy (OTB by the way), you can get them with a scope, and they don't cost much at all. In semi, any AR chambering, but I'd go with 5.56 or if you want something more - 6.8 SPC or 6.5 Grendel.
  11. I guess my thick sarcasm wasn't heard over the internet.
  12. I can almost guarantee they are .50 cal of some sort. That's the only use those rounds have......isn't it?

    Carry Gun Size?

With your size a full size shouldn't be a problem. I carry a full size FNP-9, Hi-Power .40, and previously an XD-9 both IWB and OWB. I had a PF9 for the same reasons you mentioned, but found that with very few exceptions I could get away with my preferred full size guns. Plus I didn't practice much with the pocket guns. They just weren't much fun. I get a lot more use and enjoyment out of full sized guns.
  14. So now 13 guns is "hoarding" and if you have more than a couple thousand rounds you are a nut. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,346788,00.html HOMESTEAD, Fla. — The brother of a 20-year-old South Florida man charged with threatening to re-enact the Virginia Tech massacre says he never intended to hurt anyone. Vincent Wong says he brother, Calin Chi Wong, just had a stockpile of assault weapons and thousands of rounds of ammunition at his Homestead home for investment purposes. He says Wong traded the weapons like "Pokemon" cards. Police say Calin Chi Wong had 13 firearms in all, including two sniper rifles, more than 5,000 rounds of ammunition, some that could pierce armor, and 100 rounds in a feeding clip with bullets meant to take down aircraft or military machines. Police say he made the threat over the Internet after he felt he was ripped off in a gun deal. Homestead is about 30 miles south of Miami.
  15. I was just typing that in! I also has a belt attachment.
  16. Ahhh, the wonderful world of hi-tech gossip. I think it will get the same results as lo-tech gossip. A lot of hurt and not much good.
  17. Only road bicyclist worry about where they get their coffee. Kinda like they worry about has a Bianchi mint green frame and who has the Telekom pink frame!
  18. Why not use a Hi-Power. Very easy to get back on target, accurate, SA, parts, and with a little tuning - can have a great trigger.
  19. Make you're belt tighter or be cool and don't worry about it and tell everyone you're trying to relate to the younger generation. Kinda like a white Robert Randolph!
  20. Kinda like the neighborhood around our church. With the downtown boom, a bunch of 20 somethings are tripling house prices and putting "No Race Track" signs in their yards (we are by the fairgrounds). I've even heard some rumblings about the gun shows at the fairgrounds. They want to make it a green parkway! The folks who have lived there 50 yrs just don't understand. It's as if they think, "Hey here's a quaint little neighborhood we can save from these people." then they forget that they move out all those folks who were there.
  21. Thanks that makes sense.
  22. THanks for the explanation, but why was it necessary to cut all ties with ETS?
  23. You can't get any better than the Truglo TFO's. Best I've ever used.
  24. ....and we're surprised?
  25. I have an elephant with alligator band for my Hi-Power that should arrive tomorrow. I let you know how it is. Great prices, pretty quick, customer service is a little weak - via e-mail. If you need something call them. Similar to this :
