Yeah! that's the "classic" model and a good looking bike at that. I may have to look into those.
-
The 250 cruisers go by Aquila, Cruiser, Alpha, & Avitar. I think it depends on the market and importers.

I should have added that I'm pretty much against Harley's. Just a personal thing kinda like why I don't want a Glock. I guess it's the rebellious side in me. Resale is not all that important to me as I intend to drive the wheels off the thing. The thing I like about the Hyosung is the 2 yr no questions asked warranty. Does anyone know how the V-star compares to the Hyosung, other than brand differences?

As many of you know, my first bike was destroyed and am looking to get a replacement. Being new to moto's I've read about all I can and am not to hung up on brands, so here is the criteria. I want a cruiser style of at least 650 cc's, in the $6500 range. I really like the Hyosung GV650. I know how some feel about this brand, but what are some other options that are comparative? Thanks.

Personally I don't like them. The reason for that is personal perception: 1. Ugly 2. I hate the grip angle 3. they can go off. I know, not if you keep your finger off the trigger, but....it happens. 4. Polygonal rifling. I just don't think it outweighs the cons. 5. The Glock Nation. This is perhaps the biggest for me. Maybe it's a little picky, but to me it's like when in High School everyone is saying what the best shoe is and if you don't have them you are somehow inferior. Glocks seem to be the popular crowd and I tend to like things that go against the grain as long as it's quality. For instance start a Glock thread and state a negative, the koolaid drinkers will come out in force. Right or wrong this just irritates me. Every gun has pro's and con's. Just my .02

I personally think it has a lot to do with excellent marketing. they have cornered the market and made the name larger than life. To me they are kinda like Microsoft. Are there better programs out there, absolutely, but none of them have the market presence of MS. For the vast majority of average folks, they do what it they need to do. Not with the greatest efficiency or best design, but enough to not raise to many complaints from the uninformed to displace their name.

Afraid I won't have any. Went to see it today and it looked pretty bad. Exhaust, gas tank, front end, front fender, etc. were all beat up pretty good. The insurance co has it now and the lawyer said i won't see it again.

If by small you mean it will fit her hand, I would go with a Hi-power. combine the weight with a small grip and there is very little perceived recoil. I have one in 40 S&W and it has less felt recoil than my Walther P99 or former XD9 and FNP9. Not to mention it is a proven design. The Walther P99 is also an excellent gun for smaller hands and a joy to shoot.

I might add that the UM/Hyosung have two year bumper to bumper warranties. My thinking was for the price and warranty etc. spending the extra cash on a name wasn't worth it. Plus you get free gas for a year. Ignore the name slaves. If you're getting a high dollar bike, sure, resale is a factor, but for gas, commuting, etc. the UM/hyosung can't be beat. Esecially when you factor in the double up on HP, warranty, etc. Here is a couple of reviews. The only difference in the 650's and 250's is engine. http://www.motorcycle.com/manufacturer/hyosung-gt650r-review-75270.html Here is a comparison of 250 cruisers (name brands included) http://www.motorcyclecruiser.com/roadtests/250cc_cruiser_comparison/index.html As far as the "rumor" about Hyosung and Suzuki partnership, S&T (Hyosung Parent Co) details it on their website. It originated in the 70's.

She chose him. I think her judgment is an issue.
-
Actually UM/Hyosung made all the parts for Suzuki, until a few years ago. Now they import their engines from Suzuki.
-
The UM or United Motors is made by Hyosung and has twice the HP of other 250's (even the Japanese stuff). There is a shop over on 2nd in Nashville called A-1 Funcycles that has the Hyosung 250's (which are exactly the same as UM). UM is a US distributor for Hyosung. BTW if you get a Hyosung before july 1, you get free gas for a year! Here is the website http://www.hyosungmotorsusa.com/. Check out the http://www.alternativecruisers.com/index.php?action=forum. I had a Hyosung GV250 (cruiser) that was awesome for a 250, till I got run over. Here's was mine.

Yeah I want one, but I couldn't afford it!

I wouldn't touch this guy with a 100' pole and it has nothing to do with Spanish. After reading the other threads troll!

Personally I think every SUV owner should take at least a 24 hr written course with hands on defensive driving course to follow before being allowed to get a license. J/K, but we somehow hold guns and such to some mythically higher power of destruction than the millions of idiots driving 2000 lbs. + missles at 70 MPH. We don't have excessive regulations on vehicles, which are arguably more dangerous than guns, and aren't a right but rather a "privilege". Yet we have self-protection and guns which are natural rights that we seem fine to require training and requirements for. To me this seems like gun elitist/snobs who want to look down on the average first time gun owner for not knowing the difference between a 9x19 and 9mm Luger. Or the ever incessant "clip" quo pa. No more training, test, qualifications, etc, etc. Rights are rights and shall not be infringed..... for what ever reason.

there was an article a while back about blind hunters. Evidently there are ways to accommodate that. Pretty interesting if you ask me.

1. You were. The language issue was hand in hand with legal status. To strip it down to simple legalities is naive at best 2. Half of the thread was trying to determine exactly what the details of an "alien" wanting to take a HCP class were. The legalities of his wife were in question because of miscommunication in language and definitions. If that miscommunication can take place in an "english" thread, don't you think it is pertinent that residents in the same country use a common language. Much like a deaf or mute finds a way to communicate with others around instead if insisting that everyone else learn sign language or read lips as they do?
-
I don't think comparing dissabilities with illegal status is a very good arguement:rolleyes:.
-
Don't you know that that is one of the best tactical secrets out there. At 400 lbs there is no way they can be shot in the vitals due to lack of penetration!
-
Assuming you are legal then your wife would be as well based on marriage, right? I don't understand the "alien" part. However, I would recommend learning the language of success, English, as the first step in protecting oneself.

East Side usually has a few varieties as well as Guns and Leather. You can get Saiga's in 7.62x39, .308, .223, 12g, 20g, & .410. The 12g are hard to find and run about twice the others. Here is a 12g converted.
-
To make it legal to import as a sporting arm it comes like this. to get it useful you can convert it to something like this.
-
Saiga's are the closest thing to an true Russian Ak you can get. Read that as the best AK you can get. You can't go wrong with Saiga's. Here's mine.
