My question has always been, if the great thing about them is they always work and have decent features then what about the myriad of other guns that you could say the same thing about. And what about the ones that do what a Glock does best, plus some things better? Why then the devout following if not mere groupie affection? Not meant as a slight, I just don't understand the devotion to something that is neither stand out or extraordinary in some unique fashion. A 1911 I can understand. Even though it falls short in some ways to a Glock it has a unique history and unique trigger that I can understand setting it apart. But a Glock? I just don't get the strong attraction, unless it's a cult like draw.

I think they are having bad trips! "Tune in, turn on, and drop out." has finally caught up to them. Tuned out, turned off, and already dropped out!

I did see where you can get a frame for $319. Tha't not to bad, but still you could get a SIG for that.

Polygonal rifling gives better accuracy due to less friction, supposedly. The downside is you can't use lead, which is kinda a moot point in a combat pistol. Most modern pistols have similar grip angles based on the lines of the 1911. Then the differences are in width, ergonomics, stippling, small differences in radius, etc. Glocks have a more angled grip which I supposed is based on an aggressive stance as opposed to a more relaxed shooting stance. Think a cop looking over his car door keeping cover as opposed to a traditional competition or target shooter.

It isn't form China. It is Korean and very popular in Australia, Europe and of course Korea.

Thanks guys for the input. I really like the Hyosung GV650 and every review by someone who has ridden one gives high marks. I like the cruiser style with the push of a street bike. If the wife lets me get back up on one that is what I will go with. thanks

Hyosung actually developed the SV650 for Suzuki. Suzuki then built it and Hyosung imports it for their 650's. I did find that the Hyosung runs higher RPM's like a sports bike and that it is not harder on the engine than any other engine.

Sure is refreshing that this isn't Europe! Animals are property even though many of us have emotional connections that transcend any other property we have. I would kill the dog, but there would probably issues after the fact from the other owner, so be careful.

I think you will find that no matter how thorough the course this would still be a little hazy. The laws are just to gray and numerous. congrats and have fun waiting. Shoot a lot in the mean time.

I usually carry mine in a shoulder bag (no not a man purse!). After my wreck I think I will almost always carry this way when riding. It would have been really bad for me and my gun if it had been on my hip. Concealed means concealed and don't break a law you don't want to answer for.

Actually I have my dad's old Winchester lever .22 that was his dad's (in mint condition despite being used quite a bit!), as well as my grandfather's 30-30 Savage bolt action (also in excellent condition) that is about 60+ yrs old. It is what I have always used to hunt with in AR till I got my 6.8 SPC. I also have my dad's 357 Rossi revolver. He doesn't keep them so i get to!

Absolutely love it. It is my favorite gun to shoot. It is one with the SFS system that works great, no hammer bite! I used to have a 9mm and the .40 has a little heavier slide, which i think is a benefit. Many of the experts (C&S etc.) say the ticket to get with the Hi Power is a .40 with a 9mm conversion barrel. Mainly to handle the higher pressure 9mm loads better and a little less felt recoil. I have the EFK 357 SIG barrel and it works great as well. I also installed the C&S wide combat trigger and it made a huge difference in weight of pull and the smoothness of the pull. BTW - the grips are from Esmeralda. They are a little different than the usual utilitarian look I go for, but I like them as well. I also have some C&S Cocobolo grips as well.

Just curious, I just reached an odd place in my life. I am perfecctly content with my firearm collection. Nothing I would ever want to sell/trade and nothing really gnawing at me to pick up. I mean sure there are a few pieces i would like to have, but nothing i couldn't live without. Is there something wrong with me? do i need help or am I complete? FYI - here's my inventory 1. Walther P99 2. FN Hi-Power .40 S&W with a 357 SIG conversion barrel. 3. Ko-Tonics 6.8 SPC on a Sabre lower 4. Saiga AK 7.62x39 converted to AK-10 5. Saiga 12g being converted (what I hope it looks like)

One thing I can't figure out is the dyno shows the Hyosung 650 gets 68 HP (claimed 72) at the rear wheel where the V-Star 650 turns 33 HP at the rear wheel. You have to go up to a 1100 V-Star to get close to the Hyosung. I know there is a difference in torque and running RPM's, but what gives? That's a pretty big gap.

Yeah I know, I start the MNPD in June and will have to carry a G22! At least if i do like it, I can use the excuse that I HAVE to carry it. One of my friends said when he started they gave him what looked to be like a confiscated G22 that hadn't been cleaned in 10 yrs as his issue weapon. He said he gave it a good CLP bath and brought it back to life.
