Hmm, I'm glad your not judgmental!

Just a couple of thoughts. 1. I know the diplomatic stance is to say everyone and everything is ok as long as it doesn't get "pushed", but i think that is just weak. I believe what I believe because I think it is right/truth. I spend a lot of time trying to make sure I'm right. Why, because that is my responsibility to myself and society. Equivocating on points is just cowardly and ignorant in a definitive. Just a theoretical thought. 2. I do believe that Homosexuality can be "genetic" or "born". However, i don't think that absolves choice. I have a lot of "natural" tendencies, doesn't mean i don't have a choice. Just because i "born" with a nature towards alcoholism doesn't mean I have to be an alcoholic. "I can't help it I was born this way." Just doesn't wash for homosexuals, alcoholics, drug abusers pedophiles, etc. Just my .02

While it is "independent" their licensing agreement gives them complete control over almost every aspect of production. Springfield controls the specs ultimately, that is why the new XDm came into production.

I starting to think McCain will win. Although it's "better" than the alternative, I'm not so sure it's a good thing for conservatives. In fact I think he will do more to harm the GOP than Obama. Obama would be a blessing in disguise (because American's will flock to get off that boat), but McCain would continue to put holes in the slow sinking GOP boat. If not this cycle, sooner or later it is inevitable that an Obama/Billary figure will rise......and drastically fall, bringing the entire economy with it. Then the GOP will get off their lazy tails and get back to the fundamentals (think Reagan) and resuscitate the US. The question is how much and to what extent the damage will be.

The XD was originally imported as the HS2000 and was indeed made in Croatia for their police and military. Springfield pretty much got absolute control over the HS and renamed it and marketed it as the XD in 2002. They are still made in Croatia and imported by Springfield. I like it because it means it is cheaper! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Springfield_Armory_XD

Good point, but technically it's not a finish (not trying to be a jerk). Tennifer/melonite is a great treatment and I'm glad it is now available outside the factory. Glocks, XDs, M&Ps, Walther P99s, and I'm sure others use it. I've had a Hi-Power GunKoted and it was very good. However, I think my new Hi-power I'll get Melonited with a gloss slide and matte frame when the blue wears down.

I was born in '78 and while I don't remember the events first hand my history is pretty good. At least I hope, It was my major. Politics has a history of these dynamic swings. When sides are too similar for too long you tend to get a polarizing event. I think eventually, if not this election cycle, that an Obama/Carter figure will emerge. For some reason human nature has to sample the depths of stupidity to be reminded why we do the sensible thing.

Boy, I sure hope so. The only negative (IMO) with XD's is the lack of after market DIY parts. The trigger bar and sear are one of the very few to help the XD overcome this road block.

I was speaking in a more general sense than on that specific instance. However, I have known families who have battled for a lifetime to vindicate themselves from false allegations. The damage to the their children, who now live in fear (not of their family BTW) is abuse of a much larger proportion. I do agree that abuse should not be tolerated. I wish we still lived in a time where ordinary citizens didn't allow that kind of stuff to happen.

Haha, I think you stated that backwards!

+1. There are many already who think fundamental Christians are extreme and abusive. Gotta agree with who sets the standards. This is big government in the family arena. We can't tell people what to do in the privacy of their own home, unless it is something the liberals don't like - such as discipline, religion, chores,...... These are not the governments kids. "Abuse" has become a weapon to control families with no oversight. One allegation, no matter how untrue and the government can take our children with no questions asked, no contact, no oversight, and it is extremely difficult to get them back undamaged by their "psychologist".

+1 . Thank you for that!

I saw sometime back where on Monster Garage he fitted one of those in a souped up SUV. Thing popped up out of the roof!

I hear it from my wife all the time, "hey, look how cheap and easy that would be!" I then have to remind her that they have a whole crew of experts and tools I'll never have and the money to make it look easy.

HaHa, I went the same rout except I have a 6.8 SPC, AK, and soon to be completed Saga 12g converted. Here's the AK and 6.8 SPC

Yeah that's about right. It's easy to tell though, the lacquer stuff tends to have a green case and a light purple (lacquer) coating. The polymer tends to have a grey case and no visible coating. BTW it's good stuff. I used it in my 5.56 AR and it did leave some purple spots from the lacquer, but never had any malfunctions.

Stopping percentages with hollow point ammo is about even between 9mm and .45. The distinction come from ball ammo, where .45 is king. I carry 9mm, 357 SIG, and .40 and my favorite is 9mm for a variety of reasons. It is by far the most versatile caliber of any of them, especially for your wife. XD9, Glock 17, FNP9, Walther P99 (used), any SIG (used) would all be good choices. How's that for narrowing it down!

Mine does it as well, except it is a boy con. If I mouse over it just says "male". I'm using Firefox.

That's a heck of a relief cut! nice job BTW -
Well after a very long and confusing wait, my Rafter S OWB holster arrived. I hope my experience was an anomally and from other reviews I think it is, but I gotta give a big thumbs down on customer service. Before i get to that, let's talk leather, or in this case elephant skin! I ordered an Elephant skin with an alligator band to go with my FN Hi-Power. It is absolutely beautiful. You can get the skins in a variety of dies at no additional cost. Workmanship is right up there with the others I have seen. The quality is also very good. I don't have a lot of experience with custom holsters, but my K&D fit very nicely. This one is VERY snug, almost like it is too small. i am going to do all the stretching stuff and see how that goes. The other thing I like about the Rafter S OWB is that it is a high ride. It should conceal very easily. I'll add some more pics later, but here is a start. As far as customer service goes, let's just say communication was poor (i'm being nice) and it took waaaaaay longer than quoted. In fairness some of that was my fault as I canceled it twice and then put it back online. However, that was mainly due to communication errors and what seemed to be disorganization on their part. But everyone else I know has had a different experience than me, so all in all now that I have my hands on one, I wouldn't hesitate ordering another someday.

Actually it didn't, and pig came out of the late 60's and with the same connotation. Anyway, evidently I sounded upset or angry. Not the case. Sorry about that. I've been laid up and on meds (oxycotin?) after my surgery and i might be a little Jekyll/Hyde. So overlook anything that looks out of character from me.

A lot of assumption there rookie. Keeping on insulting someone is in bad taste. There isn't any emotion in there from me. Just detest that labeling as I always have. I wouldn't care for calling vets derogatory names or anyone else for that matter. I here it all the time and it doesn't upset me, just don't think it's funny. But I will strive harder to gain you're approval. BTW it's not that big a deal, sorry to drag it on.I know you didn't mean any harm.
-
Calling a cop a pig is the same as calling someone a *igger. Even in a joke, IMHO.

It's very uncouth to do that. Same thing as if I came to your business and asked for your competitors phone number and asked them to price match over the phone in front of you. Integrity is more important than saving a few bucks. But you may think it ok.
