  1. Grew up in Mephrica and that term was used a LOT! The comparison of the two cities isn't even close. I was in Germantown and it is no Brentwood!
  2. Saw this in another place thought it was pretty good. Enjoy.
  3. Yeah, I'd really like one of the new .308's. I suspect they are Vepr based.
  4. I'd like to think you're attempting humor, but this is the third thread you're showing some serious emotional strain. What got you're dander up.
  5. I've wondered the same thing as it makes no sense to me and now I sort of know.
  6. Went to school there and lived there for quite a while and I've never heard that one.
  7. I'm thinking any mag with the right mixture of grit is going to have problems. Mags are more or less all the same, right? glock mags are metal as well, albeit coated with plastic.
  8. change grip angle, stock ambi mag release,........ i think they called it the XD, M&P,.......
  9. Yeah I agree on the sights but they look cool! Anyway, I may go the Russian route and get the bolt on front sight tower and ghost ring rear.
  10. Everything is the same except for the mag catch and the hammer. You have to shave down the bottom front of the hammer to get it to work. The mag catch doesn't need any work and there isn't any guard around it, which makes it a little easier than the x39, especially with the Tromix DIY trigger guard.
  11. I've had the parts for awhile and just got around to working on it. When money comes available I'll probably get some HK sights, Ace folder, and brake from Tromix. Here's where I hope to get it.
  12. Just finished my second Saiga conversion, this one was a 12g. Tromix just released a DIY trigger guard, so i thought I would give it a try. Let me just say that this thing is awesome! Tear off all the old stuff and this thing screws right in. It has thread post designed into it and the hex head screws attach from the inside. No grinding, painting, fitting, nothing. Just put it on and go. It also has the safety lever stop and pistol grip nut built in. Some Saiga's don't have the grip nut hole already and this makes it very easy. Only place to get them is here. http://www.mississippiautoarms.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=25_37&products_id=233 Here's the final product with my x39.
  13. Very nice. I went the folding stock route and normal hand guards, but I really like the Saiga ones. You can also vent them which looks really good. also check on the saiga-12 forum and there was a guy who would send a barrel threader for no cost. Here's my 7.62x39 and 12g
  14. I know Buds has the new SAO version, which I would go for in a heartbeat. The only thing I didn't like about mine was the initial DA. It was very good for a DA, but coming from mainly SA guns, it just didn't fit me well.

looks like you did well! How do you like the tactical mag release? I looked at those from time to time but have never heard first hand opinions. Is that the Krebs hand guards? how heavy are they?
  16. I have no more use for this. You have effectively argued against you own point at this juncture. You have it set in your mind you can't trust the government and then want that same government to save you through some sort of judicial review. It is emotional paranoia and there's just not much than can be done with that. Bottom line, the detainees are being treated with far more civility and legalities than they warrant (even under our own laws) and the SCOTUS directly subverted Presidential and congressional auothrity in relation to war time policy and procedure. The constitutional authority you think you are championing in one hand, you are slapping with the other. Have a good day.
  17. It is indeed a serious problem. I'm glad to see it addressed.
  18. So what is your premise then? My premise is that this is war time prosecution and as such, the SCOTUS has subverted the entire history of judicial and constitutional review of this matter.
  19. and just how would you go about doing that? Would the "detaining" officers testify, evidence collected and cataloged from the battle field, "crime" scene sanitized? War time is an entirely different proposition than peace time policing. Your mixing a fear of losing civil liberties based on an international war is misplaced. Heck if we wanted to (maybe we should) we could label these as "pirates" and execute them on the spot without military tribunal or any other legal process. i don't recall the total degradation of civil liberties when these policies were imposed.
