  1. Just curious, what are the rules and regs for taking a Norinco Uzi to a pistol configuration. ie. pistol barrel, no stock? From this, to this?
  2. Not to get on the religious trip, so this will be all I will post, but reason would say that because the founding principles and ideology of the constitution is Christian in nature then a true constitutionalist would more than likely be a Christian. It should be a good indicator. Not that all constitutionalist have to be Christians, just that the basic ideology should match. But then again we are talking about McCain, so......

    Variable Speed Rifle

Glad to see neither one of you can hit what you shoot at!
  4. Yeah those years spent in the Hanoi Hilton were the good times we all wish we had! I think my sig applies here.
  5. Disagree. If they are honest you at least know what basic ideology they are coming from. If they aren't honest it will quickly show. You can't separate a man's belief system from his politics. As James says, "the double minded man is unstable in all his ways. He is like a ship tossed about on the waves of the sea."
  6. I've toyed with the idea of voting Obama, for the simple fact that when it alls falls apart (and it will) there will only be a Dem. Pres and congress to blame - ala Jimmy Carter. However, he is so extreme and inadequate I don't know that we could recover from the ideological mess he would make. Plus in this election you are really voting for two or three SCOTUS justices. There lies my vote for McCain.
  7. That's exactly how Clinton got in. He did have "experience" but his track record was one of the worst of any governor. Every one talked about his charisma and not much about anything of substance. I used to have faith in the character and brains of Americans, but his election(s) started making it wain. Now it is almost gone.
  8. I concur, however you have to find the balance between idealism and reality. I don't think I have ever voted for an official who was my ideal. Does that make me without courage or faith? actully I think it proves the opposite! The problem with 3rd parties is the minute you start fractioning on issues you start narrowing your scope and influence significantly. A party has to be founded on ideology and not just specific issues. This is why the Libertarians can't get significant traction, they just won't get off topics and apply more ideology. It is tedious, in that they seem to work hand in hand but it has to be balanced. I think the next real viable 3rd party will be Conservatives, unless the Republicans can reign in their leftist tendencies once on power.
  9. If that were true, there wouldn't be any overweight men.
  10. The sat companies are all bundling with DSL nowadays. It usually works out significantly less (comparing apples to apples) if you know how to play the game. There are several threads on this one.

    Variable Speed Rifle

Problem is you'd have to change bullets along with the speed. So you carry two rifles worth of ammo, gas for two rifles and gain no real advantage except tremendous possibilities of lawsuits. I can see it now, "I though I had the non-lethal rounds and speed!" Sounds like an military project for sure.
  12. I've wondered the same thing. I don't care how good the rubber is, it just looks like it shouldn't hold at those angles and that speed! I do know the actually wear knee pads that allow them to corner on them if they need to.
  13. The way Memphis incorporates, it will be short order before you are in the city! I grew up in South East Shelby Co and no one thought city limits would stretch there 20 years ago. They are even trying to argue tax rights on people who live across the border in Mississippi! Who would have ever thought Olive Branch/Southaven would be the go to places!

I think there is more conspiracy theories than really exist. It's starting to feel like McCarthyism. I posted one and it was in no way some underhanded slight. But to have discussions pertaining to firearms and not be able to mention certain (one in this case) shops is a little crazy if not petty. Kinda like wanting to talk about big box stores and not being able to mention Target cause they messed you over one time....or ten. You can run around trying to put out all the little fires, but in the end you're just get tired and choke on the smoke.

Why won't this die?! PS I'll also post this on the other place as to not be accused of some loyalty disparage.
  16. Those, my friends are some nice catches! Took me a minute to figure out all the jokes, but now I'm ROFL!
  17. Between the 5.45 and 9mm, I would go with the 9mm. I think the 5.45 is going to go up either due to AWB or future availability. I could be wrong though.
  18. Gallatin is currently hiring I know for sure. I think they were trying to bring on 6 this month.
  19. Mars, that was great! How do find this stuff? Great OP video too.
  20. true, but i was referring to availability which would speak to cost down the road. I recommend a search!
  21. I like how they tried to make 2a supporters default supporters of felons rights.
  22. THP is very military like. If that fits you then go for it. Every POT i've talked to said they felt sorrow for the THP guys at the Academy. this was coming from some ex-military guys. NO pain, no gain though!
  23. building an AK is not very cost effective. The set up will cost a lot for one rifle. I say get an AK or two now and build the AR as time and money permits. The reason is that if the AWB comes back the first to go will be AK's (they are the most evil, of course). Kits will dry up and since most of the parts come from overseas, importation will slow/stop and prices will get insanely high. Most AR's are made here and parts will be more readily available.
