    Milled AK's

They are so expensive because no one wants to make them. The original milled AK came out in '47 and by '59 they had switched to the AKM. Keep in mind Russians don't change often, "better is the enemy of good enough". The reason? the milled ones break, are heavy, and are inferior to the AKM. if you want a shooter get a AKM, if you are looking for a collector piece go ahead and drop the dime in the milled. Just don't shoot it much.
  3. There is a reason Memphis is called the armpit of the south. I lived there over 20 years. Grew up there and I watched it go from decent to Willie town. The biggest problem for Memphis is Willie. There are some good spots, the problem is you have to go through the bad spots to get to another good spot.
  4. Plus I got a certain affection for the tools that changed history. AK's and Uzi's definitely fit that bill.
  5. Just always wanted one. Plus I can afford to shoot 9mm and can take it to most pistol ranges as well. I really like the Saiga 12, I just don't seem myself shooting as much as she deserves.

    Kel Tec RFB

Supposed to be out late this year. They are also going to be available in 6.8, .223, 7.62x39, and 6.5 grendel.
  7. Could be worse! Canada is energy independent and their loving government has run gas prices $1.50+ over our prices!
  8. HST 124 +p or Winchester Ranger 124 +p. http://frag.110mb.com/
  9. well, after some more research on the UZI, it is going to run around $250 for compliance parts and the SBR is $200. I got the grips and stock for less than $40 all together, so for the cost it makes more sense to SBR it an not worry about anything else.
  10. Welcome. I've had experience with the PF9 and it is a great little 9. I've heard some women having limp wrist problems due to its light weight, but I never had any issues. It is snappy but nothing unmanageable. I say, if she likes it and will shoot it then that's her gun.
  11. Yeah, but I can put three 9's on target, before you can get 2 10's there. Plus I'll have some left over for the other guys!
  12. He was probably just looking for lunch!
  13. I personally liked all the racist undertones, the fabricated blog story that they ran with anyway and the oh so sweet tunes smoothin out the vid. Awww Memphis.
  14. Now how would "they" ever know if it was originally a pistol or rifle? I know AR's have to be registered as such, but is this something that's done when it's imported or just the honor system? ............Other than reading this thread of course!
  15. It wouldn't cost much to swap stocks and add grips, so that may be the way to go. To SBR it would be cost prohibitive just for the barrel change. is that what i am hearing?
  16. Just curious, what are the rules and regs for taking a Norinco Uzi to a pistol configuration. ie. pistol barrel, no stock? From this, to this?
  17. Not to get on the religious trip, so this will be all I will post, but reason would say that because the founding principles and ideology of the constitution is Christian in nature then a true constitutionalist would more than likely be a Christian. It should be a good indicator. Not that all constitutionalist have to be Christians, just that the basic ideology should match. But then again we are talking about McCain, so......

    Variable Speed Rifle

Glad to see neither one of you can hit what you shoot at!
  19. Yeah those years spent in the Hanoi Hilton were the good times we all wish we had! I think my sig applies here.
  20. Disagree. If they are honest you at least know what basic ideology they are coming from. If they aren't honest it will quickly show. You can't separate a man's belief system from his politics. As James says, "the double minded man is unstable in all his ways. He is like a ship tossed about on the waves of the sea."
  21. I've toyed with the idea of voting Obama, for the simple fact that when it alls falls apart (and it will) there will only be a Dem. Pres and congress to blame - ala Jimmy Carter. However, he is so extreme and inadequate I don't know that we could recover from the ideological mess he would make. Plus in this election you are really voting for two or three SCOTUS justices. There lies my vote for McCain.
  22. That's exactly how Clinton got in. He did have "experience" but his track record was one of the worst of any governor. Every one talked about his charisma and not much about anything of substance. I used to have faith in the character and brains of Americans, but his election(s) started making it wain. Now it is almost gone.
  23. I concur, however you have to find the balance between idealism and reality. I don't think I have ever voted for an official who was my ideal. Does that make me without courage or faith? actully I think it proves the opposite! The problem with 3rd parties is the minute you start fractioning on issues you start narrowing your scope and influence significantly. A party has to be founded on ideology and not just specific issues. This is why the Libertarians can't get significant traction, they just won't get off topics and apply more ideology. It is tedious, in that they seem to work hand in hand but it has to be balanced. I think the next real viable 3rd party will be Conservatives, unless the Republicans can reign in their leftist tendencies once on power.
  24. If that were true, there wouldn't be any overweight men.
