    AR Lowers

Generally, if the price goes much over $100 it is due to the name/logo stamped on the side. If you get above the $140 mark, it usually indicates you are getting into a billet machined lower.

    AR Lowers

Most of them come from the same forging companies as there is only a few of them. That being said the final machining can make a difference. However, as long as it is from a reputable company, you really can't get a bad lower. The "better" lowers are ones that have better finishes or extra features. Most of the basic, cheaper lowers will be mil-spec, which is the most basic requirements for manufacture.   A bad lower will have trigger pin holes or takedown pin holes that are mis-sized or not entirely lined up. There can also be some mag well dimension issues with bad lowers.
  4. I have the same question. I've had sseveral PPQ's (M1's) and I don't think there is a better factory trigger out there or better ergonomic pistol available. I like them even better than the M&P's with APEX triggers. The HK looks and feels a lot like the PPQ, but I can't justify switching ATM. I just don't see any positive trade off yet.
  5. Why would anyone buy x39 one box at a time?[emoji2]
  6. Works well, as I have used a lot of it. Very good stuff
  7. It's also rumored that the Vityaz is in country and either will be made here or some made it through import before BO's EO. ?
  8. If you are going to get a mag block get the Hahn or the Spikes/AMM blocks. After TONS of research these come out on top over and over again.
  9. I like the stoeger better overall, but for a truck gun the SD9 would be better. Mainly because of the stainless slide, barrel and internals. Mags are easy to come by as well.
  10. Equal capacity, recoil, manual of arms as AR15. Better ballistics at 300m and in as AR. Gets really good ballistics over 300m and really starts to shine over 500m. Hits similar to .308 at distance but shoots much flatter. Simple barrel, mag, and bolt swap.
  11. Brent, when I was thinking about the Grendel I ended up going with the 6.8. The lack of info, production, standardization, etc. was just too much for me.  I really like the Grendel but figured I would probably never shoot past 300m and for under that the 6.8 is a bit better. I have shot a 6.5 and really liked it. Good luck getting this put together.
  12. Building an AK is fairly easy IF you have the jigs and tools to do it right. In the video, with the exception of the finish tanks, all those tools can be had fairly easily. Cost wise unless you build quite a few AK's from blanks, I've never been able to justify the extra cost. Even with a pre-folded and heat treated receiver, it's easier and even or cheaper to buy it built.    I would like to one day take Rifle Dynamics build class. For $1,900 you get to go out to their facility and build up a true AK from scratch. Not bad considering the cost covers the instruction/guidance, parts, and tools.   It should also be noted building an AK from scratch is akin to building and AR from a blank or 80%. I'd prefer to tackle the AK than the AR.
  13. Pictures are a must[emoji2]
  14. Good read. I agree the EO's are little more (technically and legally) than memo's. The real danger is the populace being confused in the process of the power of the POTUS. If the EO's are rejected on all levels, not much changes. If the EO's are validated in any form, then the real storm will hit down the road and what a storm it will be.    I personally believe this is the real strategy. Obama doesn't get caught up in the battle. Liberals are focused on the was. Create doubt and confusion about the process and eventually there is no process. This is always how dictators, fascists, liberals, and communist have taken power. It is in the chaos that lies thrive.
  15. I went with simply safe just to try out and couldn't be happier. When I compare the cost, I don't know why anyone would pay so much more.
  16. You done good Cartel!
  17. If you ever get up to Nashville bring the Saiga with you. We can knock the whole thing out in about 20 minutes.
  18. Got myself a Saiga 12 to play with, my dad got a Shield 9mm, and I bought my kids a Barnett Tomcat compound bow to learn on. Honestly not ever shooting much bow, I'm enjoying the bow as much as the kids!
  19. This originated during the first Obama scare IIRC. They were making bunches of lowers to meet demand and then serializing them as they went out for sale. Something to do with the Fed cost of serializing during manufacture. It was stupid but not intentionally criminal. Trying to meet demand and keep cost down. The illegal FA sounds like a technicality felony they added on for the case. Sabre on the other hand was a criminal enterprise.
  20. Because you can't get a better factory built AK from people who build top tier AK's without an importer screwing it up. Draw backs are that they are a bit heavier (built like tanks in a good way) and furniture is yugo specific. Nothing wrong with a WASR. Bottom to top "tier" in AK's have little top do with reliability or functionality. Top tier simply have better finishes, furniture, and should have everything more straight and fit "tighter." Unlike AR's, fit has little to do with performance (for the most part). I've seen just as many issues, if not more) with "top tier" and custom build AK's like Arsenals, Krebs, etc. Simply because they are tighter.
  21. Like I said, if that is the case it is more than likely clerical.
  22. Much of the reason I believe removing the mag disconnect and a better leverage trigger like the C&S combat trigger, are the best bang for the buck. Also, better springs make a huge difference. http://bhspringsolutions.com/
  23. You have a real AK straight out of Russia! Convert it and enjoy. The PSA's are nice but I can tell you I had to fit every part that went on the gun. Cut down the top cover, open up the recoil spring lugs, buttstock, handguards. The top cover and recoil spring lugs took quite a bit. I just got the barreled receiver to try out. Nice gun, but just something to be aware of.
  24. It won't do any good to call till you get the appeal back. Keep in mind there are active metro police officers who can't get a HCP due to past records. TN Security guard liscense is much more lenient than HCP. Your domestic charge is probably not showing a disposition on the federal level. Many people have lawyers that don't bother filing one extra piece of paper that shows the disposition in the federal level. If that is the case, you need to ask your original lawyer to make sure the disposition got pushed to the federal side in addition to the local/state level. Technically it is clear but TICS ruins through the federal system and many times dispositions won't show this thus the denial. It will happen every time till you get that cleared, Assuming that is the issue.
  25. What gun? What's the intended use? Answer those questions and you will answer your original question.
