  1. +1. Ha,Ha I was the 3rd post in that one!
  2. Yeah, I thought so but couldn't find it either. Besides, with all the new members thought it might help a bit.
  3. Can't remeber if we've done this and my goglefu is weak. I know many members have meet in person, but some of us haven't so......... I'll start. Here's me and my 3 yr old son in June. He's not happy about getting out of the pool! Here is the wife and two oldest on the first day of school. and my 2 yr. old on the 4th.

    AR-15 sights

Yeah and they will cost you more than the sight. Larue has a PoBoy special that includes the mount and a Hensoldt 3x magnifier for $199. rest of them run in the $650+ range!

    AR-15 sights

the SPOT red dots get great reviews. I think they run $150.
  6. Makarov.com used to have .380 barrels. The 9x18 is a step above .380 and a step below 9 mm. Hornady makes a good SD load.

    Some People!

That was some of the humor, she was telling me about a Wasr (II?) but kept calling it a 'Wazer" even after I said it correctly.
  8. Today at work I had a discussion (more of her talking and my listening) about firearms. This particular lady is one who likes to show off what she (doesn't) know and you can't contradict her at all. don't mind the half gone, black grill, or anything mind you. (she's from Alabama) She begins by telling me she was having a hard time finding a good dealer in Nashville that would register her guns. Since she just moved from Alabama. I gently said, "There is no gun registration." She argued that there was, especially since her husband had an "Wazer" AK that was barley legal. She went on to elaborate how it was an auto that was just one part shy of being illegal. What ever that meant. He also got a great deal off GunBroker on the "Wazer". He only paid $200 (which sounds pretty good) only to find out that Wazer's are at least $700 AK's! I just smiled and responded to her question, of where to shoot her $700 "Wazer", at Hobson Pike. Some People. BTW it was entirely gratifying to know that there is at least one person I am more gun knowledgeable than!
  9. While you all know I'm no conspiracy nut ......... the ATF is using mind policing policies. This is what I don't like. It is so open to interpretation the ATF can really enforce anything they want. How can they determine intent. Some cases are easy, but every case "could be" intent. How do disprove your own personal thoughts? How do you prove your thoughts? While I don't necessarily think there is some underground cult running the ATF, all it will take is a liberal with intent to effectivley crush 2a using seemingly harmless laws already on the books. This is about my only tin foil moment, so sorry for the rant.
  10. What is the magic number? and I don't think it would matter anyway, the way they can interpret their rulings as liberal or strict as they want.
  11. 7. An individual acquires frames or receivers and assembles firearms for his or her personal use, not for sale or distribution. The individual is not manufacturing firearms for sale or distribution and is not required to be a licensed manufacturer. I missed this. However, it is still unclear about the sale. If i build an AR and sale it say a week later...... or the same thing but sale it a year later? The key seems to be if/when I sale it. I believe they already used this in the Olofson case (granted he had other issues, but this was one as well)
  12. I got a Barska SWAT scope that works very well. I
  13. I doubt they will. The way ATF uses these decisions, they seem simple, but it gives them an incredible range of power. They can use this to get anyone who resales a gun. If you change handguards - manufacturer and unliscensed dealer, change stocks/grips - manuf/ UL dealer, change sights ........... This is a very restricting ruling.
  14. The doors to the mall from Bass Pro say, "no firearms permitted beyond this point." other than that nothing. I think it is more for people who just bought a gun and then want to walk around the mall. Of course this is all mute, since Kwik has sent his manifesto on posting to mall security.
  15. There goes the ATF again. I guess the crackdown has truly begun.
  16. Now I know how to get a free transfer next time!
  17. Because it is Franklin Gun shop. There are many others in Nashville that will do you much better. Phil at Bellshire Hardware is a great place.

    AR-15 to 6.8

They can also share the same bolt carrier, but the bolts are different. When I had mine, I just had two so i didn't have to worry about getting them mixed up.
  19. the 220 is the temp of.the steam from.the steam wand used to foam the milk. i imagine they got some water from the boiler spout and assumed it was.the same temp. btw the boiler is pressuized and it is 220 at the wand, i have he marks to prove it.

    THE Question

Connery by FAR! Brosnan was pretty good and Lazenby was decent. Daniel Craig just doesn't strike me as James Bond, although Casino Royale was a great movie. Dalton, Moore... I just pretend they never happened.
  21. 6.8 and it is not even close. i can only think of 3 loads for x39 and the 154g sfot point is the only viable SD/ hunting load. The 6.8 has a variety of SD/ hunting bullets available. Basically anything you can get .270 in you can get 6.8 in. ballistically the 6.8 is superior as well.
  22. I don't think there was actually a time when it was this way. It is just now with media and everything else we are instantly aware of stuff that wasn't revealed before. Remember JFK? MLK Jr? Truman? LBJ? Looked like saints and later we find out what they were behind the scenes. The cynicism is because the curtain is starting to fall revealing the wizard. Is it good or bad? I guess that is debatable.

    AR-15 to 6.8

Do get 6.8 specific mags. While .223 mags will work, the aluminum ones tend to bulge under the added pressure. That is why 6.8 mags are stainless. As far as uppers go, get a Cardinal Armory/Ko-Tonics upper. They are the definitive 6.8 builder. They use the 4 groove, 1:11 twist that is perfect for the 6.8.
