Socialism is not necessarily bad in respect to citizens helping one another. The problem with Socialist ideology is that it expects the government to enforce, control, and regulate benevolence. When government uses socialism it becomes a powerful system not to help but to acquire and consolidate enormous amounts of power that will never be relinquished. All examples of governmental socialism have led to disaster with the people it intended to help being trampled. Socialism is well intentioned but naive in its understanding of human nature and government. Most people (strick is wrong on this one) who disagree with the system believe that benevolence should be left to the individuals own conscience. There was a time before when Americans helped each other when hard times came. Families and churches were also a major part in this. Socilist governments have to dissasemble both familes and churchs in this system in order to make themselves the alternative in hard times. They do this because they are so much less effective they have to eliminate their competition or no one would have ever turned to them. All of our Socialist tendencies came out of the Great Depression and was a well intentioned idea, maybe even a sound theory, that the government should have slowly lessened the programs after the crisis but instead increased. You can see this clearly in how the different parties give. conservatives give, by a vast majority, their time and money to charities and benevolent organizations as compared to democrats who funnel their time and money to government and politics.

Boys are easier to PT cause (this is the Arkansan in me) you just send them out side and let them try to hit targets (rocks and stuff.. not other kids!). Girls are easier with the conventional reward thing. Aside from all the methods out there, the best tip I can give is to get them to try at regular intervals (at least once an hour) till they get the hang of it. i think the problem with TDRs "math" (J/K) is that people are trying to take these (or any) candidates in a current perspective. History is the best way to evaluate policy effectiveness as well as what can and can't be done. All the policices of Obama are not new, nor are McCain's. We have long historical track records for the effectiveness of each of these "plans". For instance in 10 years when people compare Clinton to Bush II, statistically speaking (as well as every other economic marker) Bush will look incredibly good. The feelings of the moment will be irrelevant. Obama's socialist plans will fail misrably and last for a long time. McCain's dumbness is correctable. With the exception of China, who only succeeds by using a free economic model, socialism has been a misrable failure. Always has. Capitalism has a long track record of empire building and long term success. Is there a perfect system..... no. All will fail, but capitalism fails once the principles of freedom get lost by the complacent within the society. Socialism fails because it is a fataly flawed understanding of reality and human nature in it's root conception.
