Difference is always the same.... one is real, one is only in your imagination! Oh, you .45 guys.

    carrying an FN 5 7

Way to stay focused! While I don't have one, I do like the idea. They were designed for secret service type gigs so I can't imagine them being only .22 effective. I guess you do have over penetration issues, but still a fine gun IMO.
  4. The more I own the more I narrow them down by trigger pull. looks and such are becoming less important.
  5. I was trying to decide between the SR9 and the M&P and the one noticeable standout feature was the trigger. The M&P was MUCH nicer than the SR9. I'm sure it gets better with use but you can usually tell what to expect from the NIB trigger pull. I got the M&P.
  6. After owning two XD9's and a G19 among others I settled on the M&P9. the XDs are awesome bust just too blocky for carry and I never felt confident in carrying the G19 (thanks Mars). I really wanted a Walther P99 9mm QA, but good luck with finding one of those. The M&P was kinda of the default choice and I'm starting to be really glad it all worked out that way. I am appreciating more and more ever time i look at it and find more features I really like. I can't wait to get out and actually shoot it!
  7. Hey magic, what did you get and where did you get it? Nice and fun aren't they! I got to shoot one of ETS (before all the issues) and it was a blast.
  8. I saw something similar on Future Weapons about the military experimenting with machine guns on mini choppers. Pretty cool.
  9. Has anyone tried this heat shrink derma grip stuff? I found it on a Walther accessory site but I'm sure it would work on other grips as well. http://www.carlwalther.com/p99acc.htm
  10. no.... I'm mean yes! and I need you to contact me immediately via PM to arrange their disposal! ASAP.
  11. So you are the woman?! I guess the but gun makes sense then.
  12. Got it from GFA. Very impressed with them so far. I just don't like DA/SA models. Don't know why but I like knowing the pull is the same from the first to the last shot. The AS is much better than any other DA/SA but just not for me. Especially for that kinda money, I wanted exactly what I wanted.
  13. well Dang! Wouldn't you know it. I go to pick up the Walther P99 QA and turns out he received an AS and a QA compact! Man was I disappointed. Needless to say i went with the M&P and I fell pretty good about it.
  14. Well, I decided. I'm going with the P99. The one I had before was the best handgun I have ever had and I think I would regret not getting it this time. The M&P is a very close second, but this is one of those rare times I can actually 1. find a P99 QA 9mm (just search no one has any) and 2. The price tag isn't a deal breaker. Under normal circumstances I would probably have gone with the S&W for price reasons. But all things being equal P99! Pictures to follow later this evening! Thanks guys.
  15. Nope, Walther made the frame for the SW99 and S&W made the slide. S&W imported the P99 fully assembled from Walther Germany.
  16. I just am partial them. I've had a a lot of others from Kel-tec to Sig and I keep coming back to these. I was just never comfortable with the G19, the HP was awesome but heavy for carry and a little to nice to carry everyday. The Sig is just blocky and I don't like DA/SA, the FNP9 was very nice and accurate but again DA/SA, The PF9 was great but not something I could have fun at the range with. The XD9 (have had two at different times) was awesome but a little big and heavy compared to comprable guns. H&Ks are just too snooty and blocky for me Basically I want a light, thin fullsize SA 9mm. I know about Khars but I don't want to supprt the Moonies.
  17. I've held them all and previously owned the Walther, wish i had never sold that thing:(. The drawback to the Walther is magazine price, $54! The M&P I'm just not partial to the looks. The Ruger is just too new and I get mixed opinions.
  18. care to share? All the reports I've heard have been good after the recall.
  19. Since selling off most of my guns, I was left without a carry gun. I'm back in the game and need help choosing. Price difference aside what would you choose? Please just out of these three. 1. Walther P99 9mm QA 2. S&W M&P 9mm 3. Ruger SR-9 blackened slide
  20. Not true. NATO has outlawed foreign PMCs being hired by outside countries. This happened after Sierra Leone. The US can hire PMCs because they are involved but Iraq could not hire PMCs for military engagements. Foreign PMCs can be hired as consultants for military engagments but not combat.
  21. The reason Blackwater and similar security companies are hated are because they are are incredibly effective. They don't have to get political (beurocracy etc.), have little media accountability, and they don't have to deal with congress. They make governments look bad and the media can't make them fail. Just look at the case in Sierra Leone. Executive Outcomes went in and ran out foreign rebel forces (60k of them) with less than 4k men in less than 3 months. NATO got their panties in a wad cause they weren't in charge, banned contractors (by foreign governments) inserted 40k "Peace Keepers" and within 2 months the rebels not only took back ground, but captured and took over the capitol forcing NATO to negotiate and legitimize their overthrow. To this day these countries are in a mess. You will not see a positive article on Blackwater by any major media company. I suggest people understand what and how these guys operate before using the biased politically correct crap that is release by media outlets. Shadow Company is an excellent documentary on the subject.

    FN Five Seven

Only negatives I've heard is ammo price (not such a big deal anymore) and some firing out of battery. But those seem to be limited in comparison to the many good reviews.
