  1. Did some work for me as well. Very nice unassuming guy who does good work and is pleasant to talk to. +1:koolaid:
  2. I work the same and have one of the BSA systems you can use. I not too far up the road if you haven't found one. It won't work on AR's though.
  3. Ok so it was a while back but here go. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4601&highlight=hog+hunting My search speed is slooooow.
  4. Are you planing on knife, gun, dogs, guided? There was a thread here not to long ago about this very thing. there was also a link to a guy who was selling hunts on private property with a lot of big Russians on it. I'll try to search for it.

    Shipping a handgun

UPS has always asked me for the copy of the FFL. Fedex just ask if it is going to a FFL. I've discovered that most of these employees at the counter don't know their own policies much less the ATF regulations. Sometimes it is just a matter of who you get at the counter. I've experienced impossible to very easy and pleasant. Just know it make take a trip or two.

    Broken XDm

I thought revolvers never have issues and go bang everytime! Seriously, keep us posted and I wouldn't assume the XDm is a bad piece. As has been said everything mechanical has or will break. The only issues I would be worried about are FTF/FTE because those tend to be tolerance issues. Mechanical failures are usually due to anomalies in the manufacturing process. Unless they are from Bryco or something of inferior material and workmanship.

Get a copy of the FFL you are sending it to and go to FedEx or UPS and ship it. It will have to go overnight and you will have to declare it at the counter. You also have to ship it from one of the shippers main terminals. No retail stores, drop location, ect. I would personally use FedEx after my experiences with both. NO USPS.

Orange Mound silly. It is a living shooting gallery. Of course you'll need friends..... and armor...... and maybe artillery, but it should be fun!

but then there's no money left for guns.
  10. I don't remember recoil being that bad, it was more of a controllability thing. Frank hit what he was aiming at but it took the rest of us a bit to learn how to get it on target. The length makes it a little more difficult than one would think. It is still a very fun gun that takes some different handling skills to master. Not hard just different.
  11. Most have been mentioned, but I just saw Hot Fuzz again last night and it is truly funny. At the end there is such an eclectic mix of firearms and the dark British humor is great. I think one of the cops is using an old Enfield!
  12. The joys of BB guns. my brother and I, when he was in Tuscon, got a cheap lever/spring action BB gun and wore out the pigeons crapping all over the yard. It will take a while and they eventually come back, but I look at it as a renewable hunting/fun source!
  13. I understand that. I'm more interested in the front end of the trigger pull as opposed to the back end. I never really noticed reset other than travel.

Centerfire has all the RIA 1911's in stock and are offering free shipping this weekend. They are advertising the Tactical for $399! http://www.centerfiresystems.com/1911.aspx
  15. A little late but CD customer service is great. Look over on the Charlesdalyforum.com for more info. Michael Kassner (Pres of CD) is a regular there and is serious about his customers. He will probably answer you question directly.
  16. Shoot, the blast alone would knock they BG out. Kinda like a concussion grenade with a slug attached! I can see it now, cops show up and everybody is blind!

    12g Christmas!

    Haha, now that's pretty funny!
  18. Not other than dry firing it. My first XD I had Springer do the trigger job on my second I did the Powder River Striker safety job. I highly recommend it for price and ease. http://www.powderriverprecision.com/index.php?p=3&pic_id=82
  19. Tungsten knows what he is looking for, but from every report I've seen the trigger on the M&P is described as a "close to 1911 as a striker fired trigger can be". That being said there are several gunsmith's offering trigger jobs as well as DIY instructions from one of them. While I'm no expert I have had two XD's and a G19 all with trigger jobs. The M&P, IMO, was much better OTB than any of them. I can only imagine it being even better with a trigger job. http://www.burwellgunsmithing.com/index.htm http://bowietacticalconcepts.com/mandpprices.html http://www.burwellgunsmithing.com/misc/M&Ptriggerjob.pdf
  20. I kinda thought of it the opposite way. To me it was much better than the Glock. Not near as mushy.
  21. Barrel is pretty straight forward, 18", however overall length can not be under 26" IIRC.
  22. WWTC? BTW what made you switch from the two 9mm M&P's you had to the .40?
