  1. You better believe it! Started going through the gun cabinet and realized I had far more than I thought. A few extra parts here, a few extra recievers there and this is what happens. BTW this is from a past life. I no longer possess any of these. [emoji6] The AK variants: L to R: Yugo PAP, Polish, Saiga 12, PSA Reciever/Barrel, Yugo M92, WASR AR'S etc. L to R: Dedicated .22 (kids gun), LW/PDW gun needs optic, 11 yr old daughters AR, Adams piston on Black Rain billet upper and lower, Aero 308, ARP barrel 6.8, Ruger 10/22
  2. You need to chek your info. The polish imports that IO brought in were made in Poland in the city of Radom, but not the famed military circle 10 Radom factory. That being said, the imports are very good guns. Anything else IO makes you are correct. Their "Polish" blueprint guns made all in America are terrible.
  3. Great knife. I'd like to have a sheath like that to go with some of mine.
  4. I really like my Rossi m92 in .357 mag. Ballistically, a 30-30 under 300 yrds in a lighter bullet and you can lighten it up with .38 special for small game. I also like the idea of the 336 but feel like I can get more versatility with the M92. In semi auto, a Yugo M92 is hard to beat. Cheap available ammo and is very compact.
  5. That's a good one. AK's shoot any and all ammo. The vast majority of it is steel cased, like it's meant to be [emoji6].
  6. For most of my life I've had the same sentiment. At age two, I had what was then a rare incurable disease. I was the first child in the U.S. to survive. They have since found a vaccine. Then most of the men in my family, healthy and strong, tended to die in their mid 30's from what we have discovered is a genetic aneurysm. Both my older brother and younger sister recently had open heart surgery to correct. Both college athletes, healthy and young. All that to say, I always figured my time was short and what I have is a gift. I figured I had one choice - make the most of what I've been given. Now, I could YOLO damn the consequences and go out in a blaze of glory or YOLO and make it count. I have found that great men are remembered by what they leave behind. Ordinary men and their deeds are soon forgotten. My prayer is that I'm remembered. Gordon, live well my friend.
  7. Find you a WASR. Great base gun for what you are looking for. Otherwise, you are spending too much.
  8. Understand that you have already contacted BRD. There is no turning back and that's ok. You will wake up one morning with bins full of extra AR parts that will necessitate building more varieties of AR's. Just accept the reality and embrace it. ?
  9. My BIL had always shot right handed and was a decent shot. When he went to the police academy they tried him out lefty on a hunch. Ended up being SWAT DM left handed! He doesnt do anything left handed but shooting handgun and long guns.
  10. There are instructions on the Windows website on how to roll it back to Windows 7. However, if you keep it, I would suggest getting a program called startisback. Makes the start menu and directories function and look like Windows 7. Well worth it to me.
  11. Technically an enclosed motorcycle with a rollcage and convenience and features of a car. Oh, and 85 mpg and new cost $6,800.
  12. +1, but there aren't any Superbolts at the moment as there is a patent debacle holding things up. Not ARP‘s fault but it is theirs and our headache. If you can find, one grab it.
  13. also, can't use polymer 5.56 mags. They will bulge, break and fail.
  14. This. LWRC calls their hybrid SIX8. Uses proprietary bolt, upper, lower, and mags. Whole different animal. Good animal, but different.   Check out 68 forums. ARP and the other leaders in 6.8 post there frequently and keep everyone up to date with trends.
  15. Yep, it's my go-to hunting rifle. Never liked the 5.56. The 6.8 is about as good as it gets in the AR platform, everything else had too many compromises, range, barrel length, load variables, etc. I got into it back when Ko-tonics was just figuring things out. At this point, there is no more wildcat mystery left in the 6.8. Plenty of parts, ammo has really come down, and market support is excellent.
  16. Got one of their cheap Daily Deals Freedom stainless midlength uppers for my kids to shoot. Originally put Magpul MOE handguard on it. Later I decided to use an extra UTG Pro Slim free float handguard I had laying around. To my surprise, when I went to torque the barrel nut off, I got aggravated trying to get the barrel nut wrench to engage. Found out the barrel nut was not even hand tight and was spinning freely. I know it can happen top any builder (except RRA rockset nuts), but you may want to check your uppers. That could have been bad.[emoji15]
  17. One word ... Dropbox. Most of the others simply backup, but Dropbox backups and allows you to access your files, pictures, music etc, like a remote desktop. Your can also link all your computers and phones and decide what gets backed up. The benefit of this, is that it's like having all my files not only backed up on line but also on all my other devices. Redundancy is great. I've made all my computer folders linked to my Dropbox and can't lose anything. Doesn't gum up internet speeds either. Can't say enough good about it. I can also send links to people for them to access specific files, if I want them to.
  18. The side piece works kinda like a leaf spring that holds a plunger in place. The adjustment screw has 15 positions that you can adjust through the front. Makes it real easy. Also, since the plunger doesn't come into contact with the gas, it doesn't get fouled up.
  19. Same problem I ran into with the Kies. The SLR is worth it. It'll also save you the hassle of trying to find the right buffer spring/buffer weight.
  20. Get the SLR adjustable gas block. Makes a HUGE difference. I went the cheap adjustable gas block first (Kies) and ended up finally getting the SLR. Worth it.
  21. Big fan of the TFO's. I never had any trouble out of mine on multiple guns, but I too heard all the stories. Glad they addressed the issue anyway.
  22. This. Also, the HP is legendary and even the FM, FEG, and other clones tend to be very good. Parts, accessories, and mags also are far easier to find for the HP as well. IMO, there's not really an apples to apples comparison between the two.
  23. Yep. Push the delta ring back pop out the old handguards, drop in the new ones. No messing with the barrel nut, and I can tell you after messing with a problematic barrel nut this afternoon, a drop in is a GREAT idea.
  24. Evidently he did. Gunsmoke is owned by someone named Rodriguez. Rich was the CEO. It does smell a little fishy, but at the same time that guy reeked of smarmy used car salesman. The way he used his wife and stepdaughter was a bit exploitative to say the least.
