It really is unfortunate, but I think calling them "murderers" is over the top. I know here in Nashville a quick call would prevent this sorta thing and if he had family or friends they should have borne the responsibility more than the government. The fact people knew his condition but didn't check on him till after the fact says a lot. I doubt it was all that preventable aside from someone checking on him round the clock. I will say for some of the elderly these things will always happen. I have checked on many an elder in the summer and they will be bundled up with the heat on and 90 degree weather! I'll be sitting there sweating bullets while they complain about how cool it has been. There is a reason so many have strokes in the summer. At that age their bodies will lie to them. It's unfortunate all around.

Here we go again with the principal over practical. It likes arming some guerrillas to overthrow a dictator. Will they do every little thing you want? No, but they will get rid of the bigger evil. Then you are left with more manageable smaller battles. The war is more important than the battle and this is where conservatives/libertarians etc. fail to the liberals. Get out of the tower and into the fight. The best defense is a good offense. We have consistently been winning more battles than loosing. The stats back it up. Ownership is up, permits are up, court cases are leaning once again our way, more and more manufactures are coming on line and all some people can do is complain about the NRA not backing Olofson more, which is a questionable legal case to sink money in anyway or the Auto weapon ban. Join the NRA and GOA and then keep pushing on local levels for more change. Otherwise it's like the people who voted for Perot, who only managed to elect Billary.

After I my spill I can honestly say I am SOOOOO glad I was not OWB/IWB. I landed on my strong side and it would have done a tremendous amount of damage. I was carrying in my shoulder bag, which I think is a little more accessable and safer on a bike.

I just found this site and it is pretty good when you are looking for something specific. Besides Democrats are compared to Republicans. Conservative is related to liberal and not parties per se. You are a liberal democrat as opposed to a conservative or Rep.

Yes you can. The FFL only applies when guns are interstate commerced. However, like previously said, if you tell a carrier what you are doing they will freak out and say no even though their policies say yes and the law says yes. I know form experience. I have done it before and just have to get creative on how I notify the shipper of contents. do not say machined parts. Sometimes thye will check to make sure their is no oil! FedEx is much better in this situation than UPS.

Just curious, but why the compensated?

I see a lot of whining about the NRA from gun owners, but think about it this way. What would things look like without them? I would dare say we would be far worse off. That being said, are they perfect..no. Do they get every stance right, according to me...no. One thing we conservative/independents/whatever have to quite doing is eating our own. One of the great accomplishments of Reagan was unifying a bunch of individualist. The Dems are good at uniting because they are followers. We must learn to work together to win the war and stop worring about every little battle WE think is the most important one. Big picture people. Jackdog, is there anyone you DO support?

Just curious, did you settle on the Grendel due to the range factor? I am going with the 6.8, but I don't see me shooting much over 300 yrds practically. The thing that turned me away from the 6.5 is there are only two or three 6.5 builders and all all of the major builders are selling 6.8 SPC as well as a fair amount of custom shops. Seems the market is holding the 6.8 better and will thrive in the near future. I worried that the 6.5 might be cost prohibitive down the road. I know the 6.5 is better compared to the .308 and the 6.8 is better compared to the 5.56, just curious as to why 6.5 over 6.8 in your case.

Why the heck did he ship it overnight! He could have saved you a bunch of money. Yeah, the gun laws are stupid to say the least. But you know those handguns have a way of committing crimes when they are away from home.
