  1. I've had the same problems and found that certain guns fit me differently and some lessen my short comings while others accentuate my bad habits. Ideally I should be able to handle any firearm the same but I just don't. I chalk this up to the different ergonomics of firearms today. On both my XD's I had to work a little harder to keep from shooting low left. After experimenting with other firearms I found out the grip was so narrow on the XD's I was using poor trigger finger placement and then was breaking my wrist while I jerked the trigger. As much as I liked the XD's I switched platforms and my shooting got much better. Not a knock on the XD as it is my quirks and not the guns. The M&P, Walther P99, and Glock 19 all handle better for me and my quirks.
  2. Umm, first part is statement of opinion, and second is just not true. Not that I realy have anything against it. Hmm, facts maybe? Sale of .270 says that it is one of the most popular hunting calibers on any continent (Africa included) and trajectory and PB numbers say that it is as flat shooting as any of the ones mentioned. In fact it has almost identical numbers to the .264 WinMag over almost all distances and better than the .30's. It also compares favorably to the 7mm with same rise over 200 yrds and a greater MPB (Maximum point blank) range.
  3. A few questions: 1. Apart from the gun and attachment cost, a can is gonna run $400-$500 once you add in the ATF taxes? 2.What are the practical benefits of a silencer on something larger than .22 (say 6.8 SPC AR). 3. Are they legal for hunting or are they a range only type thing? Thanks
  4. This is awesome! Now all I need is some unfortunate animal without 30 holes in it's hide to tan!
  5. I'm just going to go with the .270. Best all round cartridge and as flat shooting as anything out there and can be loaded for varmint up to CPX3.
  6. The ATF is the enforcement arm of the IRS. Most of their warrants are based on tax issues. . It just dawned on me why Dems and liberals don't mind higher taxes.... they just don't pay them!

    Kel-Tec PF-9

Generally KT will make runs of only one model at a time, so there will be sporadic shortages of one model or another at regular intervals. For a while you won't be able to find the P3AT, then the PF9, and so on and so on. They will be back on the market in a few months. Good guns. I liked both of the ones I had. I would look for the HC model and if I couldn't find that one I would send it to Jack Fuselier and let him HC for $25.
  8. So conforming to the American Gestapo is voluntary? The IRS is the most powerful unregulated entity in the United States. They have absolute power without any oversight.
  9. Might want to do a search because theses were discussed in some detail when they first started being imported. That being said they are excellent (if not improved) AK variants. The only real downside may be parts availability as they don't take traditional AK parts.
  10. there is some place in Montana that advertises in the gun rags that sells them. My try looking in the back section.
  11. I don't like the ones linked. Seems like there is too much going on. Especially with that very small tip of the triangle. I had some Sure Sights for the XD when they first came out and they flat out work! They seem huge when sighting but aren't any bigger than other sights in comparison and bright doesn't even come close to describing them. They are however, very poorly supported at the moment and should cause some pause.
  12. Tired of just griping about the so called "Stimulus" bill that is really a Democrat/Liberal payout spending bill? Sign the petition and learn some of the facts as well. http://nostimulus.com/
  13. HaHa, that's great! Of course this will never be heard in the media and he will be decried as some marginal scientist at best. Do you have a link to the piece for reference?
  14. Mehh, everyone here is always complaining about PC and then when someone articulates (very well I might add) the truth in a very straightforward and concise way - calls a spade a spade - the same people starting saying how much they don't like them. Give me Ann and Rush all day all the time!

    P99 or SW99

The SW99's frame is made in Germany by Walther and the barrel and slide are made here as said before. There are some cosmetic differences between the two and I much prefer the P99. However, they are running around $700+ if you can find them. At that price point, as much as i like the P99 (my favorite HG of all time) I went with the M&P. The P99/SW99 are also very light. In .40 they will have a sharp recoil that the M&P will handle better.
  16. Yeah, I gonna say M&P as well. For one you can change backstraps to fit here better and it is not near as blocky as the XDc. While i like the XD (have owned 2) the M&P would just look better on a woman.
  17. Could this friend of a friend cousins relative not strip the parts and sell them while the receiver disappears back to the field? Just sayin.
  18. Yep, I'm seriously considering OC like this!
  19. What is truly said is that with Europe's long history with this subject one would think they would have learned by now. History truly does repeat itself. Great video BTW.
  20. It really is unfortunate, but I think calling them "murderers" is over the top. I know here in Nashville a quick call would prevent this sorta thing and if he had family or friends they should have borne the responsibility more than the government. The fact people knew his condition but didn't check on him till after the fact says a lot. I doubt it was all that preventable aside from someone checking on him round the clock. I will say for some of the elderly these things will always happen. I have checked on many an elder in the summer and they will be bundled up with the heat on and 90 degree weather! I'll be sitting there sweating bullets while they complain about how cool it has been. There is a reason so many have strokes in the summer. At that age their bodies will lie to them. It's unfortunate all around.
  21. For Cruisers, I'm thinking a shotty in a scabbard would work ala "Renegade"
  22. Here we go again with the principal over practical. It likes arming some guerrillas to overthrow a dictator. Will they do every little thing you want? No, but they will get rid of the bigger evil. Then you are left with more manageable smaller battles. The war is more important than the battle and this is where conservatives/libertarians etc. fail to the liberals. Get out of the tower and into the fight. The best defense is a good offense. We have consistently been winning more battles than loosing. The stats back it up. Ownership is up, permits are up, court cases are leaning once again our way, more and more manufactures are coming on line and all some people can do is complain about the NRA not backing Olofson more, which is a questionable legal case to sink money in anyway or the Auto weapon ban. Join the NRA and GOA and then keep pushing on local levels for more change. Otherwise it's like the people who voted for Perot, who only managed to elect Billary.
  23. Only the frame (or serialized part). the rest are just "parts" according to ATF. Plus it wouldn't save you any doing it this way. Just box it up and drop it off.
