  1. I've had both the 19 and XD that I EDC. The XD is bulkier and heavier but not so much it is uncarriable. The 19 is about as perfect as it gets for a near fullsize carry piece. If they made a compact XD or M&P I'd go with those, but since they don't.... it's the 19.
  2. No offense taken. once these kinda threads get over 50 post it usually degenerates into the one of these kind of discussions. Which is probably why they get locked down.
  3. Maybe disprove it, if you can. It is a very legitimate argument to say the decay in morals has lead to a lot of our current problems. There is historical as well as current empirical evidence to support the idea. I think what you are responding to are the many that want to use it as a cope out or discussion ender instead of truly thinking through the proposition. With that I agree with you, but throwing everyone with a outright religious world view as a hypocritical extremist is against you better arguments on fact. I was simply pointing out the emotionally reactive response from both sides is counterproductive. Kinda like the glass house thing.
  4. Or when the "heathen" respond with the always productive "churchie" hypocrite rebuttal to everything they disagree with? So much more productive. Seriously ones religious views/world view, whether you think you have them or not, shades everyones comments. Generalizing for derogatory purposes is ignorant. As does the +1 to those comments. Some of you guys are hard core libertarians, so does that automatically disqualify you from a position because we already know where you are coming from?
  5. I was given gift certificates to Outback and the movies so we went Thursday. (my day off). Ate well and then saw Taken. Earlier that afternoon took my 5 yr old daughter out to Chuck E. Cheese and for ice cream for our "date". Friday I had my "special day" with my 2 yr old son and we went to Chick-Fil-a (he likes the playground). He also like to ride in the "big" seat in the truck. Saturday took my 4 yr old son to the train show for his "special day". Was a great weekend!

    StageCoach Shotguns

I don't know about the ones you speak of, but Guns and Leather always has a few on the floor racks. I believe they are usually the Chinese ones.
  7. If I read that correct I can "rent" a gun to someone out of state and not have to use a FFL? Interesting loop hole I might try out!
  8. Sweet! You got one of them Cop Killa's the Mexicans are raving about!

I'm gonna go with the Smif. Ohshoot?... oh don't shoot!
  10. If you check the date on that (1992) I think you will find it outdated and that the consensus has changed since then.
  11. While I'm no expert the way it was relayed to me was like boxers. .45 is like a lumbering heavy weight who relies on shear mass to exert power. He is slower but more power behind a his punch due to the mass behind it. 9mm is akin to a middleweight that has tremendous power but relies heavily on speed and quickness to transfer the power of his punch. while the analogy has obvious holes it made sense to me. In a .45 you want the biggest heaviest bullet because speed is not really a factor. In 9mm, velocity is the main factor. So the size and speed relationship is critical when choosing a load. That is why .357 SIG and .357 Mag are such powerful and effective rounds. Different principles to achieve effectiveness.
  12. He is one I posted awhile back and is pretty good. www.elitedealseeker.com
  13. Federal HST 124g +p, Hornady TAP 124g 9mm, or Winchester Ranger-T/SXT 124g +p depending on what I can get and what I have left over.
  14. This week... Glock 19. Of course that is until I trade it for a new flavor:D
  15. The debate rages, but what I have generally found in 9mm is that velcoity/weight ratio is the key to expansion. Most of what I have seen shows 147g doesn't move quickly enough for its weight and 115g may be a little light. That being said I tend to go with a 124g +p HST or Ranger-T/SXT. I assumed 147g +p would get similar results but I haven't seen test to prove it. Rather I have seen the opposite. There doesn't seem to be enough powder capacity to push 147 (even in +P+) to necessary velocities. When it's all said and done no one knows and it is what you feel most comfortable with as almost every bullet and weight has plusses and minuses. Just remeber .45 and 9mm operate on completley different principles and so the logic of one will not tranlate to the other.
  16. Uhh, Thieves! The most cowardly of all criminals. I had an old trailer my dad had hobbled together over the years stolen out of my yard and some kids that broke in our van to steal about 15 dollars worth of diapers and diaper bags. Just annoying and stupid cause they are likley to eat a bullet if I ever catch them.
  17. Revolutions and revivals are lead by the young and tempered by the old. I too see more hiding than fighting. We have stripped the understanding of necessary force from our young people and turned them into psycho babbling who think they can "talk" their way out of anything. "Walk softly and carry a big stick" comes to mind. I see all these " War is not the Answer" bumper stickers and I just have to shake my head. War is a the only answer when the enemy does not understand logic, truth, or reason.

    Taken!!!!

That was definitely a great scene! "You don't remember me? We talked don the phone a couple of days ago. I told you I would find you and kill you." It is the follow up to the preview most folks have seen.
  19. My 2 yr old came in from the kitchen tonight with his hands covered in peanut butter. Would have been alright except he had tried to wipe them off using his hair and clothes!
  20. Very nice and great pictures to boot!

    Oil prices

oh, BTW you all do realize that without "big oil", Walmart, and the other evil corporations out there (actually making profits) your stinking IRA's and any market retirement plans would be worth less than nothing? They are the only thing, if you were smart, keeping any market system we have with a breath.

    Oil prices

The only reason there is "Big Oil" is the US government. We've been over this a million times and it seems that some just want to live on Fantasy Island and continue to demonize the Oil companies. For conspiracy nuts and Ron Paul supporters some of you sure drink the cool-aid the liberal media and Dem feed you. Hate "big oil", Walmart, and corporations and all will be right. Yeah, that's it. They are what cause all of our ills! Big Oil is only big because the government has completely limited any possibility of competition by using the EPA, drilling bans, and OPEC bed fellows. They have created monopolies that they can control and exploit for their own interest. "Big oil" makes 10% margin on a product they research, drill, refine, produce, and bring to market. The government makes 25% and produces nothing!
  23. Couldn't find the bathroom. They kept it well hidden and under lock and key!

    Oil prices

And what about when we were paying 1.42 at the pump and crude was at $42 a barrel? This gets so old. Margins are set. There are very few gouging cases and most of those are local shops and wholesalers. "Big Oil" has set margins and have very little to do with gas prices. The biggest factors in prices are Government, OPEC, and Venezuela. Jump on them.
