  1. Is this like the grown mans "fort"/clubhouse?
  2. +1. I'd be really nervous about shooting +p .40. Most kabooms you hear of are standard load .40.
  3. I bet your chiropractor loves you!
  4. Oh man! You're making me wish I had my bike back, but after my wreck the wife says NO! That being said, I'd go with the Marauder, followed by the SV650. The DRZ400SM would make a great 2nd bike, but like you said I wouldn't want to ride it all day around town or commuting.
  5. Gold Dot's have a short barrel specific version that should work well. as far as the others, I don't think you'll have much problem with the +p loadings.
  6. I have found that most of the studies are now showing any of the new stuff works. Some of the older designs have flaws. Here are some good resources to look at. http://frag.110mb.com/ http://stevespages.com/page8f9mmluger.html I'd carry HST 124g +p or 124g +p Ranger-T if I could find them. I also use Hornady Tap 124g because they seem to be available.
  7. Personally I've been in the ministry all my life and I have never been to a church that had signs or even a policy of any kind concerning guns and I've been to all sorts of churches all over the country. Curious that you found one that singles it out.
  8. I bought an XD from Tim about 2 years ago and he was excellent. The one I had gotten was an older one without the melonite treatment and he allowed me to exchange it, even though it was against their policy, for a newer one with the melonite. Prices are decent not great, but I have yet to be able to find better ammo prices, even online.
  9. You can't beat a converted Saiga.
  10. I never had a problem with Wolf in 9mm, .223, or 7.62x39 (AK-imagine that:D).I have had problems with S&B. The two boxes I used had multiple problems. Isn't Wolf, Brown Bear, Monarch (blue box) all made by Barnaul?
  11. Once dogs start killing or aggressively biting for that matter, they have to go. There are no alternatives once they go wild in an urban environment. As far as guns. A good handgun, probably a nine for capacity. If there are several wild dogs and you have to engage them you'll want as many bullets as possible. Secondly I would get a good 12g and then a good carbine. As far as carbines go, there are almost unlimited possibilities. An M1 would be an excellent choice or you could go the AK/AR route.
  12. Where my family is from in Arkansas, we hear them bugling all the time. I've even seen herds driving home. This is in NW Arkansas (Harrison) I would love to take an elk one day. I think i'll try!
  13. I'll try to find the discussion on this topic, but if i recall correctly there is some debate about if your vehicle is your property even on someone else's.
  14. well, being that I am using a G19 (my second), and have had all the others I would say yes. It was unnatural at first and took a few minutes to get the hang of, but it definitely speeds things up. So much so i had to concentrate at times on slowing down.

    Go LSN Warning

If it is the SD, I gotta say it's a pretty cleaver way to get free info on possible stolen guns. That is if they aren't harassing decent folks in the process or "logging" good serial #'s they find.

    New/Old FEG Hi Power

My first handgun was a PJK-9HP. Fantastic HP copy. The only difference between it and the FN HP i had was the notch in the slide for the slide release. I put a C&S extended release and had to modify it a little. Other than that I think all other parts are interchangeable except for the front sights. don't know anything about DOB but you could check with charles Daly as they were the importers.
  17. This has been the only thing that kept me from "slapping"/jerking the trigger. It was fun to shoot like i knew what I was doing!
  18. While i am admittedly no gun expert/tactician/professional I do like to shoot and learn more all the time. I had the benefit of being shown some shooting tips the other day, that at the time I though was no big deal. Went to the range and tried out the technique and WOW, what a difference. I'm sure some of you already knew the tip, but i didn't. I was advised to hold the trigger down after the first shot till I was back on target then let it out until I felt the reset and then pull for the second shot and so on. My groups tightened considerably, my speed increased, and no longer was I having my nagging problem of shooting low left.

    Walmart?

I've been to both Academy's over the last two days and neither have anything but a very limited amount of WWB (read maybe 500 rnds between them) and Franklin had a couple of boxes of Winchesters new SD stuff.
  20. HaHa! Nah, I'm gonna keep this one.
  21. Got to take my new PF9 and Glock 19 to the range yesterday. The PF9 ran like a champ through about 75 rounds and never missed a beat. This is without any F&B. I did clean it pretty good and lube it up. Recoil, as I remembered from my first one, was sharp but nothing bad. I don't want to use this baby as a range gun but it fits the niche I wanted it for - a 9mm pocket gun to back up the 19. I also got to try out the (4) KCI 19 mags I had gotten from Copes. Springs are stiffer than the factory mags and I had to use the loader the first time, but could handload after that. Through 300 rounds I never had an issue. I personally can't tell a difference between these and the factory mags in appearance. I can tell in the price! $12 vs. $26! The KCI's do have a little tab at the front that the Glock's don't have and i may get out the Dremel and grind it down. I don't know how they would run in a real hevey duty scenerio, but so far i'll keep buying them.

    Walmart?

To be honest the Franklin store is the first one I've encountered this issue. Several others here in town have never said anything to me.

    Walmart?

Now I love Walmart and think they are the last bastion of true free market enterprise, but what's up with the Franklin Wally world? went in to get some 9mm Blazer and luckily they had 3 boxes. I said i'd take them and the lady said only one box of any given manufacturers ammo at a time! What!? She said it was corporate policy and pointed to the sign saying they reseved the right to limit quanity. She did let me buy one box of blazer and one WWB. Never heard of that or experienced that at any other Walmart. What gives? BTW - please don't turn this into a we hate/love Walmart thing.
