  1. by using the same logic, you shouldn't carry at all because it could be used against you in a self defense case. However if you are going to carry, your gun needs to be set up for best use. Not to preempt possible lawsuits.
  2. On most of the custom holster I have gotten, they will tell you they are really tight (almost unusable) at first. they do it on purpose to make sure you get a good fit. they then told me about the plastic bag trick. Worked like a charm after that and wearing a while. I just used walmart plastic bags.
  3. I'm getting my new 6.8 upper this week and I need some handguards. Let's face it, I'm not going to war (not yet at least:D) so I don't need something super fancy and I like a more comfortable smooth type forearm. I'm looking at something like the Viking Tactics VTAC or YHM customizable. I will probably only mount a grip and not much else, but I would like to be able to down the road if I got the itch. I'd also like a free float. My other thoughts are Troy's MRF/TRX or YHM Diamond series. Looking for specter length on a carbine system. Any suggestions or opinions?
  4. BEST - G&L, Goodletsville, The Nameless Shop, GFA, and Bellshires are all great here in Nashville. WORST - Gun City, Uselelton (although the mounts are awesome)
  5. Look, if you're not wearing a thigh rig - you aren't carrying!
  6. Used to and not very good at it. I think I like just being in the river and being a part of nature in such a peaceful and tranquil way. It is perhaps one of the most "spiritual" things I have done in my life. Of course I guess I could go stand in a river and not fish, but it just doesn't seem like it would be the same!
  7. case#, proof, legal ruling? or this another one of those interweb, I stayed at a motel, lawyer opinions? as has been stated numerous times, a good shoot is a good shoot. If it is as unclear as for the prosecutor to argue that kind of mess you, made other much larger mistakes and the trigger pull is the least of your worries.
  8. Yes it has been asked and debated ad nasum, but I think it is beneficial to see what the current trend is. I carry OWB 90% of the time ATM, but keep it covered (concealed). When I decide on a IWB holster and loose some weight I will be IWB concealed, especially in the summer.
  9. The Steyr sights use the same focal pickup as traditional 3 dot. The Advantage sights use a different principle than the Sure sights. The SS are unique and work..... if you can get them.
  10. Park police are police officers. In fact they are a special designation within metro police. They go to the same academy, same POST certification, etc. He didn't have to "play up to" the "big boys". That being said it sounded like all 3 were equally bored this particular evening. In Hendersonville the Park Police are a separate entity, but are still POST certified, same authority etc.
  11. You did the right thing. If more of us watch out for one another we would be a lot better off. It's a shame, most of us probably don't even know our neighbors names unless it's on their mailbox.
  12. welcome. As far as your quest for 1911's Rock River/Armscor have great reps and you can get them under $400. Here is one great deal http://www.centerfiresystems.com/AC-RI1911.aspx http://www.centerfiresystems.com/AC-RI1911TAC.aspx

    How many Masons?

Those are based on Catholic tradition of the use of the term "religion". However, the Bible (which predates Mr. Webster by a few years;)) says true religion is taking care of widows and orphans.....Period!
  14. That's why I said southern. The only good things in Kali are in the north.... minus Sacramento and San Fran.
  15. I think we need to send in Snake Plissken and then make southern Kali a prison colony...... or missile test range!
  16. If that's the way you want it, I'll let it be. Just seems a little silly to me though. BTW - He wouldn't say much about happened with him and TGO. He's a pretty stand-up guy. Just seems a shame.
  17. I too have them for every caliber I own. I like them for right after the range so I can quick clean the barrel before I carry it.
  18. I use the Gun Blast Polymer Safe stuff on all my new guns. If I remember right I usually blow a lot of junk out of the firing pin channel. I like using the Jig-a-loo dry spray lube on things like the mags. It goes on dry won't gather debris but stays slick. Kinda like a dry version of WD-40 and it's cheap.
  19. I truly believe that in general the government has good intentions but have a serious lack of wisdom into the unintended consequences of their actions and the abuse they open up- ala mortgage crisis, bailouts, welfare, Great Society, UN/League of Nations, ect. You know the saying, the road to hell is paved with good intentions or in the words of AC/DC "we're on a highway to hell!"

    How many Masons?

These are circular arguments at best. Deerslayer is correct. Pike said what he said and you can keep saying that the words he used have different definitions than they do, but it won't change the intent. Masonry and Pike's intent are clear IMO, which is why I posted what I did earlier. While you obviously see it differently, the fact remains these are the base theological tenants and practices.

    MBR?

You can always get a Saiga in 7.62x39 ($400-$500) and convert it pretty easily. Then you will have the best AK on th market at a decent price IMO.

    How many Masons?

The problem with "secret" society stuff is you get the extremes from oblivious supporters to too tight tin foil conspiracy theorist. I have heard and read a lot on the Mason's and here is what I've concluded. Although not a "religion" per se, it is similar in that I completely and whole heartedly disagree with the fundamental practices and theology. However, most Masrons, like "religious" folks subscribe for a myriad of reasons and most aren't strickt fundamentalist or even probably know the full foundational principles and practices. Arguing the point is like trying to tack jello to the wall. It just ends in frustration and a mess.
